Older Folks and Vaping Back Porch-Part Six

Seapeach that's amazing. She looks great. Still keeping her in my prayers.
I'm being a little bit lazy today. Dog's in my lap.and I'm watching the noon news. Gotta take Abby to the vet at 1:45 as the vet opens after lunch at 2. She apparently got a bad scratch on her right eye that got infected and turned into an ulcer. We've been treating her with antibiotic eye drops, which she hates. Actually bit me this morning when i was putting the drop in her eye. I believe she quickly realized that it was unacceptable behavior. Very apologetic afterwards. I guess I'll keep her. It's getting better but we'll have to continue putting the drops in for another week or so.
Anyway after the vet it's up to Lowe's to pick out and pay for the carpet for the three bedrooms. I am putting new carpet in rather that continuing the bamboo flooring cause I hate getting out of bed onto a hard floor. Carpet also makes shuffling to the bathroom in the middle of the night much more comfortable.

Poor Abby! Brutus The Boydog was just treated for an ulcer on his eye, followed by a double knee replacement. They had to do both because neither one was able to bear his weight alone while the other healed. They use a belly sling to take him out to potty & make him use his legs & new knees without his full weight on them. They had to put him on a diet & he'd lost 10lbs by the time of the surgery.

There are ignorant people today protesting & name calling, & shaming, just as there were then. I am proud to say that their actual numbers are few when compared to those who don't agree with their words or action. Who speak up & stand up when witnessing such stupidity. They have the right to their opinions & others have the right to disagree with those opinions & speak up about it. The media plasters their words & actions across the headlines in video & print, thus promoting & encouraging other, equally ignorant individuals to join them. What you don't see in the headlines, both then & until today, is those in disagreement. Those of us who defend our military & Veteran's are protrayed as ignorant redneck trash to be ignored. Or war mongers. The media films only those who seem to prove their point & broadcast heavily edited video & sound bites. The failure of local governments to organize parades, & homecoming welcomes, much less proper & effective care for them is but a play in the contest for popularity based upon what they see in the media. Which I've already described as manipulative & biased. Blame these Governments. Blame the media. Blame the mind manipulation that they are both complicit in. But look closer & you'll see those of us that continue to just do the right thing & honor our men & women in uniform & their families with no thought for the browbeating being dealt in the media. Who push those big mouth few aside & step up to provide care, respect & honor to those who have served. And do it without recognition because it, s the right thing to do. The wrong things always get more press. I mock them & curse them in French.

Respectfully and In my humble opinion, I don't see it that way these days .. although there will always be a small faction that disagree with this and that, and, fortunately so, because we still live in America .. When the GW Bush administration effectively tried to blackout the showing of Flag draped coffins coming back from Iraq, I did have a real problem with that ..

I never expected a Parade, a little respect would have been nice, but it is what it is .. the Duty of a Member of the Military is to Serve .. no matter what the small faction of the Populace may think or say .. it does not automatically make them ignorant .. the fervent wish of most Soldiers is Peace ..

"I, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed ..."

Media / Government can only manipulate us if we allow them to .. as is so clearly evident in the last several months ..

Captain is struggling with a persistent eye infection. Poor doggies. Hope she's over it soon. Are you going to have the time to work on that image we talked about? It's okay if you don't. I'll certainly understand. You have a lot on your plate right now.

As some of you may be aware, I have been unwillingly been drawn into a war. And that war has lasted too many years. I have found a temporary peace here, but what I most long for is family--

Feel like I've made money today, when all I really did was complete some actions to keep from giving money away.

Started off with a session at my favorite all-you-can-eat buffet. Had sushi as an appetizer, then some other stuff, and sushi for dessert.
Then:

Got a new auto insurance policy and cancelled my old one, because 12 points dropped off my license on May 17. Old insurance: $986 per 6 months. New insurance: $194 per 6 months.

Mailed my old DirecTv box back to DirecTv. If I hadn't done this, they'd have charged me $40 for a box that was of no use to me. By the way, the Genie box beats the snot out of the Tivo box. There's no way to know this from the advertising, and I picked the wrong one to start with.

Filled out a rebate form, dotted all the tees and crossed all my eyes, and got it in the mail for postmark today, the last day of the offer. Rebate is for $100. I hate the hoops ya gotta jump through for rebates and have given away many past opportunities by never getting around to the jumping.

Still got other much-delayed stuff I need to mail as soonly as I can for other purposes, so I can't rest on today's laurels too long.

I didn't want to post the first pic but I'm overjoyed at her progress at just over a week and I wanted to share it with you. She's playing and laughing like she's never been hurt. Again, we thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.

(((((((((peach)))))))))))) sooooooooo happy to see that 2nd photo. She looks wonderful!!! they really did a great job!! Very glad she's her happy self, and not traumatized over this! Kids are so great about just getting through stuff and go on with life!

Did you mean to add another zero, or have they come to their senses? They used to charge either $300 or 400 for those stinkin boxes. Glad you saved/made money! Now ya got more money to spend on vapin!! Whatchya gonna get??

WOW! Great improvement. And being so young, with "baby" skin, bet ya won't even notice scars when she gets older. Also being so young, hopefully you can expose her slowly to some very friendly, trained dogs so she does not have a fear of them.

No, it's just $40, but with a deactivated access card it was worth nothin' at all to me. The shiny that I think about most is some new teef but I ain't done procrastinating yet. Sometimes I think I'll never get done with that.
