It had been some time since I had any urge to take in a film at an actual Movie Theater ..
"Please Immediately Report Any Suspicious Person or Activity"
I sat back to watch the film, yet this notice stayed in my mind .. it's a far cry from "Let's all go to the Lobby .." with dancing Candy and Popcorn .. the thing is, I don't know how to parse my thoughts on this .. I understand that it is, I suppose, just another piece in the fabric of how things have changed over the years and what we have come to ..
It's funny you should mention that today. Lately I've been having active thoughts on what we would do over here should an active shooter situation arise. Now, don't get me wrong. Personally, I think this base is too small to have to worry about anything like that, but with today's craziness, you never know.
Where I am situated in the grand scheme of things is, that I MIGHT have a chance if I immediately fall to the floor and crawl off into the tool room.......that is, if said shooter's first shot doesn't slam me to the floor anyway. My lead mechanic doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell no matter which door a shooter would come
through. We're locked in here, but that means absolutely nothing to me. I've been to the front gate when it's closed. There's under room at the bottom of the gate for two humans to pass through. It' something that stays in the back of my mind.
My favorite is semi-local called Caine's. Popeye's is out of the question. I will, if forced, eat chicken from KFC, Church's, or Hey! Man. Popeye's thinks everybody in Louisiana likes to eat whatever they are ordering covered with so much cayenne that the first bite is the only thing you will be able to taste for the rest of the night. I like spicy food but I also like to enjoy my glass of sweet iced tea (with lime) for the taste not to put out the fire.
I guess it depends on who owns the franchise. I'm not a big spicy hot eater, but I do order the spicy chicken when I get it from Popeye's. It's never been over the top here, and Lord knows if it was too peppered, I wouldn't be able to eat it.
