kewl, how much citric acid do you use for a pot? And it doesn't corrode any parts?
When I do it, I guesstimate the amount: about 2 tablespoons, stirred into a cup of water until it dissolves. Then add that to however much additional water makes a full pot.

I've also simply added the powder to the reservoir after filling the reservoir with water. When the water heats up, the powder dissolves.

Cleans the reservoir, the pipes, the brew basket and the pot too. There's no danger of corrosion. You can damage some coffee makers with vinegar but you won't do any damage with citric acid. Plus, it does a MUCH better job than vinegar does. People with super-sensitive taste buds MIGHT be able to detect the flavor of citric acid in the first pot of coffee made after cleaning, but I wouldn't know because I taste no hint of it.

And some parts kits too.

If you're not signed up w/ CASA you should. The do a pretty decent job of sending out pro-active emails concerning issues.

on the PA law. One of the legislators we contacted told us 'it' would get out of committee and make the final bill. I need to check which way he voted.

Janet and I are pretty well set. We'd been stocking up for the deeming. But we didn't expect PA to come down so harsh. To add insult to injury the PA vapors/vendors associations proposed a more reasonable tax that would have brought in even more tax revenue but it wouldn't be considered by the law makers. This sure makes me think PA law makers wanted to wipe out vaping more than getting money from it.
I'm still not entirely sure how a state can police mail order stuff. It's not like they have customs at the border or anything. Pretty much they would have to look at a packages return address and figure out who it is that sent it. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, basically the only folks taking a screwing from this will probably the in state dealers/brick and mortar stores.

That's EXACTLY how it's done, Matt. Trust me, been there done that. :-x The state has a mail gestapo agent or agents and "suspect packages" are then "scanned". Up here they had the courtesy to slap a "Contents Scanned" sticker on the package so you knew they were on to you. They'd let a half dozen or so of those go through, then send you a letter stating you owe "X" in back taxes OR we can prosecute you and fine you $5,000 and up to 2 years in jail. Will that be personal check or CC??? Pa. seems to have stolen a play from Ak.'s play book. Adding 3 years to the jail time was a nice touch though. Very progressive. NOT!!! :-x :-x :-x

Tired from a busy, fun weekend, but I have a few quotes to comment on... After a 7 page catch up...

Two all beef burgers, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.

There was a time in the '70s that The Golden Arches would run specials that got you a free Big Mac when you uttered that phrase.

But you'd go hungry! It's two all beef patties. I would get a free Big Mac & give you half!

Kenna corrected you. When I was young I had a Tshirt that said "bun seed sesame a on onions, pickles, cheese, lettuce, sauce special, patties beef all two". I can say it backwards!

Regardless what kind of coffee maker you might use, it eventually gets a build-up of deposits and/or coffee stains in its innards and outtards.

For years, the only thing I knew to do was run a cycle using vinegar instead of water, and of course no coffee. Problem with that is you had to run multiple cycles afterwards to get the vinegar out. I love vinegar but, contrary to popular belief, not in my coffee.

Citric acid not only requires no clean-out cycles after use, it also does a MUCH better job of cleaning of all parts, be they glass, metal or plastic.

There are companies that sell tablets of citric acid for cleaning coffee-making gear of all kinds, and they charge absurd prices. Regardless of the brand name, it's nothing but powdered citric acid. Citric acid is cheap!... no need to buy it at ludicrous prices.

And if you want, you can put about a tablespoon of citric acid in a glass of water, and it tastes pretty much like Tang. Might want to add a little sugar.

I remember you posting about using citric acid to clean a coffee pot a few months (year?) ago. I always used vinegar, but since your original post I have been using citric acid. Got a big bottle from Walmart for like $3 or less, actually to use in DIY juice (a little diluted in PG to stabilize the flavorings). Works GREAT!! And yes, don't need to run several rinse cycles through the coffee maker. Great info!

Retiring to my phone and my lounge chair. A little TV and early to bed.

Oh, Saturday night Geordi's breeder and I went to the house of the people who own Geordi's brother for a nice little BBQ. They introduced me to Redds Strawberry Ale. Since I love just about anything strawberry, I love it!! On my way home from the show I stopped and bought a 6 pack. Gonna be a strawberry kinda night. Strawberry vape, strawberry ale, and sleep well. (not gonna polish off the whole 6 pack, however!!!! Gotta save some for another day!).

How does the Vape tax compare to the regular cigarette tax in PA .. ??

The pa cig tax is going from $1.60 to $2.60 per pack.

Matt, I don't know how they got the 'word' out and what penalties are levied but you can't find an on-line vendor to ship wine, spirits, beer, or cigarettes to PA. However they done-did that I suppose could be done for vaping supplies.
