Let's keep da good news rollin'...

Patty's brain MRI last week was 'clean', again (nine years after her emergency surgery)!

In a way, for sure. I've been to almost every single doctor's appointment, and have learned a lot about what she's fighting. The chemo has really messed with the way her mind works (kinda foggy and forgetful), so I have to pay attention to make sure that she gets what she needs and is taken care of. Not to mention most of her post-surgical care... it's definitely been a long, hard fight for both of us. I just feel like she definitely has the heavier burden, though.
You're a superhero! I can guarantee that's how she sees you! My period of helplessness and confusion was minor compared to hers. But, my daughter was definitely my hero! It's an incredible relief to have somebody be in charge when the world is falling apart. It helps ease the fear.
On a more somber note, brother in law lost his battle with cancer, he was able to pass away peacefully at home with his family. If y'all would, send some good thoughts my sis in law's way, it's been hard for her; she's been in a traumatic limbo because it took the doctor almost two weeks to get around to signing the death certificate so the cremation could take place...... :-x :(
Is that even legal?

Okay, back again afyter watering the garden. Just not all that pleased with the progress and the peas have apparently run their course for whatever reason. No animal tracks of any kind around anywhere so I doubt it's "beast" problems, just don't know............... over watered? We did have a lot of rain the week they started to go South. Underwatered? Meh... kind of doubt it. We'll probably gather up the 30 or so pods that are there now, this weekend and wait and see if they come back. I was expecting the Brussels Sprouts to have nice tall stalks with lots of little baby cabbage heads on them by now, but no.............. The Red Leaf Lettuce is doing terrible. I know it got beat to death by the rain and overwatered. The Romaine and second round of Radishes are doing well but how will I know when the Wala-Wala Onions are ready to harvest? The dang things grow underground! I'm not sure outdoor gardening is for us. We do REAL GOOD with the indoor gardening though. :D

Man! Kazz & Iffy too, I've had a big ol' smile all day thanks to your fantastic posts!!! Warmest wishes and best thoughts continuing to flow your way!!!

It's lookin' like another thunderstorm might be on the way. It's pretty dark outside for 6 pm. Last night was a one-day reprieve from the t-storms.

Yep, we had one today. So far this year we have lost two trees. One to lightning and one to the heat.

@bigbells Thank you so much for the recommendation for the citric acid.

Got it in the canning section at Wal-Mart and I needed a good cuppa by the time I got home, so cleaned the post per your instructions, and am now enjoying a mellow, clean tasting cup. Now, I usually like and make my coffee pretty strong, but since the cleaning, it is actually too strong. So, it will save on coffee in the long run..

Kudos to you, Dave!!! :)

That is sad! We're losing our beloved kumquat tree. It's been looking sad for a couple of years now, and much to high to harvest any fruit from it. It's just about bare on one side.......sigh!

Woulda shown up at his golf tee time or his kid's drop off at da elite summer camp... azzhat!

Be assured, she has my 'comfort' on da way...

Soon as we finish supper I am so hitting the shower and letting hot water beat on aching muscles and joints.

Yepper, a hot shower and, at times, slurpin' chx noodle soup are two of my fav 'comfort' activities.

Not every man (or woman) would stick by a seriously ill spouse.

Hell, even with healthy mates... look 'round...

I think this may foot the bill, so to speak, even comes scented for that potential pesky foot odor.....:D

Not a bad lookin' pie for $3 @bigbells! Not sure ya shoulda gone the full 19 minutes though. :( :D
Yeah, the previous one I put on a cookie sheet but this one I put directly on the oven rack... cooks a couple minutes faster... nothing tasted burnt though.

Kudos to you, Dave!!! :)
You sure know how to make a fella feel good, thanks!

Ain't got no curbs here. Truth is, even if I had a curb, I'd feel like the symbolism was unnecessarily divisive. Sooner or later someone will say that those without blue lines don't respect law enforcement. Sorta like pulling out your PBA card along with your license if you're pulled over (which my Dad did for many years).

Allriiighty, gonna look into dat!

Just so happens I'm having my driveway/side walk power washed later dis week. Will have my buddy also do our street drain (shallow, wid no actual curb). Worst case scenario, I'll paint a blue stripe at the end of my driveway.

... directly on the oven rack... cooks a couple minutes faster...

... and promotes a crisper bottom crust!

Truth is, even if I had a curb, I'd feel like the symbolism was unnecessarily divisive.

Dave, PLEASE tell me you're just being sardonic!
