In Summer Months, with cargo shorts, I don't wear a belt .. in Winter Months, I wear a LL Bean 1912 and have for many years, the belt is likely over 10 years old .. for a more dressy look, I highly recommend the LL Bean Katahdin Iron Works Belt, made of buffalo hide ..

In a pinch or when traveling by Air, I resort to the long tested and highly revered ::
(cheap, infinitely adjustable, easily replaced, TSA approved, sexually neutral .. ;))

Chat on Porchers ... this incarnation of the back porch may live forever. I just saw this post by an ECF admin in another thread approaching the infamous 15K limit.

Speaking as one who has Lobbied for a change in this antiquated arbitrary 15K limit, I hope you are right ..

It's up for discussion but hasn't been written in stone yet

Well we can do a periodic remodel w/o a full scale new porch.

Although I personally don't know why a discussion or committee need be initiated, in the event that the 15K limit is finally trashed as it should be, there is still no Law that says a Thread Starter can't close a Thread and open a new one if the Spirit Moves them .. :)

Because as of this moment the site procedure stands for the closings...
Our Staff discussions are to discuss getting rid of this.

 My belts tend to last forever. In fact, I just had to replace my primary leather belt which had been faithfully holding up my britches for nearly 20 years. Right now, I'm using an el cheapo from Wally World. That will get replaced as soon as I can make it down to the local saddle store. I usually buy my belts from there as the leather tends to be higher quality than what you find in a local department store.

It's hard to find a really good leather belt in chain stores these days. The ones that look good are exposed by the label, "Made in China - Bonded Leather", which means "this belt is a fake". I really like the woven leather belts that look like a series of V's with a hole every half inch along the belt. The trouble with the ones you find today are that they stretch and develop breaks in a couple or three months. Most of the breakage in mine are where my cellphone case attaches.

Seriously. If you have a saddlery near by, check 'em out. Yes, the belts are going to be probably double the price for what you'd find in a department store, but they'll last forever.

I agree that double the price is cheap. As much as I like a good woven leather belt, I end up buying one every 3 or 4 months at Kmart or Walmart for $14.99 when they aren't on sale. For $40 a really good one would be cheap! A good one for $30 would be a steal!

Sheesh we just had about 12 Doves and 15 or so Quail in the front yard. It actually rained a little today and it brings them out. We even saw Hoppy who we haven't seen since we left on the trip. He has a broken leg or something which is hard on a Quail since they like to scratch like chickens. He was looking pretty rough some tail feathers missing, they like to pick on the sick ones but he's still getting around and still has his woman.
