My newest acquisition from the local flea market. The very nice man who sells these makes them by hand.

Now that's beautiful. I'll bet it smells great too. We used to buy aromatic cedar boxes whenever we passed through Cherokee, NC. They sold them at the same Trappe touristo that they sold Bulls... Repellant in.

OK! It's hot outside, humid too... Maybe I can wait for summertime!

Yes, Matt, it smells wonderful. We are going to use it as a coffee table.

Luv da aroma of cedar; brings back some fond memories! Beats da moth outta mothballs...

The only piece of furniture my Mom brought with her to the States was her wedding cedar chest!

Left yesterday for some fishing, got back dinner time today. I must be getting old, this was the best part of the day when we all just kicked back enjoyed lunch and told fish tales.

Hope ya felt good 'nuff to enjoy your outing!

I have got the wood from a cedar tree that I cut down a few years back - the intention of saving it was that someday I may actually have time to make something out of it...

Went fishing - came home without staying overnight - not enough fish biting to stay an extra day...

Yes I did Iffy. Thanks for asking. I did poop out in the 'hot' afternoon and knocked off early for the 2 hr ride home. But it was a really enjoyable time. When the group gets together - it ain't really 'bout the fishing - well it is - but most of us have been beating the water for a long time and we now take time out to 'smell the flowers' and 'enjoy the friendship'.

It is good that you got enough energy back to make the trip.

You are so right - if you are fishing with the right folks in the right setting - the spending times with friends goes further than the fishing.... Shoot we have ran out of bait on a good fishing trip and sat around jawing for the rest of the day and enjoyed it just as much.

Our local super market sells fresh trout ... just saying ... and it's a whole lot cheaper per pound than what mine cost factoring in the capital expenditure for equipment and stuff ... just saying

My buddy actually did that once - he was not going home empty handed - he did tell the truth though... Spoiled my fun - I had planned on standing behind his back and telling the truth anyways...

Lilac, that's going to make a lovely coffee table. Love the smell of cedar.

Matt, the counter is lovely. The kitchen is coming along beautifully! After all this it's going to be hard to leave it!

Ah yes, the yard work. I used to love it because I love the flowers and digging in the dirt. Cleaning out the winter debris always makes such a difference. It immediately makes everything look cleaner and loved. It may sound weird, but I enjoy weeding. I'd go out to weed after dinner and nobody would bother me because they didn't want to get roped into helping. And a bonus is that it was a welcome quiet time. Hehehe. The problem is that now my back does not like the activity and my knees aren't thrilled about it either. I figure if I just do a small portion at a time, but we've got so many portions! Lately we've decided that mulch is our friend and lots of pots of flowers look lovely and they can join us on the deck as well as on the ground. We've adjusted our vision of what the outside is supposed to look like and have discovered that change is good!

I think my best bud and I may have finally gotten our 'bugs' down under $150 per tail several years ago!

Anybody back here do woodworking? I need a good sawdust engineer to make me a stand for all my stuff. I have some really nice African Purple Heart wood, but not the right tools to chance messing it up. Jeff needs some help here.

oh that wood :) be gorgeous!!! Of all the wood Reo mods, the purple heart with the birdseye doors are my favorites!! I don't know if the guy (bryan?) at red sky mods takes send in wood or not, Mike might know.

I've missed you! Hope everyone's day is filled with all good things!

Sooooooooooo Happy to see you!!!!!!!! I have really missed you!!! Been seein ya on, was hoping you'd pop in!!! How are you doing???

2 magnolias which are doing fine, a third magnolia which is doing great and two crape myrtles that may need help if they're going to survive. They don't get sufficient hours of sun and they're in poor soil. The magnolia that's doing great is in much better soil than the other two magnolias and it's five times their size.

Oh I love magnolias!! Those and gardenias are my fav flowers......next would probably be daisies. Oh, and I agree, those clocks are beautiful!!!

Some of us have cute pictures of pups. We've got cute Miles pictures.

With the location of the blue quilt square behind Miles' head, it kind of looks like he just graduated. What a fine Miles Smile! The picture of Miles and Mike is great too.
