Well, this was an interesting night for us. Around 3:10 today my heart went into a-fib. I have palpitations (like a lot of people) but sometimes (last one 18 years ago) for no reason it gets into full tilt bogey and needs to go to the ER. I HATE going to the ER, but my heart needed to go so I went with it. They hooked me up like a science experiment and took half my blood and ran scads of ECG print outs. Then at 5:10 it stopped freaking out! Yay! Who knows why, but it went back to my normal rhythm. Oh no, can't go home yet, need a chest x-ray. Just had my physical which included blood work, echo, ECG and 24 hour halter monitor so they couldn't justify doing it all over again. I escaped and got home about 8:30. Yay! Time to eat finally! So that's my excuse for not being around earlier. Looks like everyone held down the porch just fine without us.

Janet, I do hope you are doing okay. That sounds a mite scary.

Eeek! Janet, as someone who has the same problem - 'cept at lot more often that every 18 years - I know how scary that can be. I've been Holter monitored up the wazoo and they don't have an underlying medical reason for why it happens. But when it does happen (so not a Doctor here...):

In my case there seems to be a positional issue, as it only does the "takes off and running" thing when I'm lying down. If I sit upright most times my heart rate drops back to normal in under 30 seconds. Does that make any difference when it happens to you?

This came right from my Doctor: Purse your lips closed tight and blow hard keeping your mouth closed - like you trying to blow a stopped up trumpet. It works after doing that maybe three or four times. I forgot his explanation as to why it works though.

But here's hoping and :nun: it won't be happening again.

That's pretty interesting. I'll try to remember that if it ever happens again. My position doesn't seem to matter at all. When it starts up it's like my accelerator gets stuck. I very often have the palpitations, but they come and go. The first time it happened it was after I'd been diagnosed with Grave's disease and it was connected to my thyroid going crazy. That's not it this time though and he said we may never know the reason. I usually always have them here and there, especially when I'm still, but last night when I went to bed they weren't happening at all - nice!

Thanks everybody for your well wishes. It's nice to know so many people care. I'm doing great this morning. Maybe the beta blocker is working? I feel so blessed, knowing that some of you are dealing with much more serious issues. This is a piece of cake!

Morning' everyone. Was off fishing yesterday and glad I cut the day short to come home. Like you heard - Janet wasn't doing well, so directly off to the ER we went. She didn't say her heart was beating out at 150 per minute for about 2 hours. Yikes! The Doc said she must have a strong heart 'cause she didn't even break a sweat. By the time we got home from the ER, she was feeling fine, like it never even happened.

Running in to say hello to friends old & new. Plopping down on porch steps to rest as these old legs ain't what they used to be. I hope the new software will be a bit easier on my data allowance. Needless to say, I have a whole lotta catching up to do. Have missed you all!

WooHoo,Kat:)

And a big "HI" to Fran and Kat - so nice to see you here again.

Hiya Mike. Glad everything turned out OK at the ER.

Did you catch any fish?

Just a couple. Was a good 'fishing day', just not a 'good' catching day. Water temp was only around 45-47 degrees. Really needs to warm up a bit for the spring 'bugs' to start hatching in force.

oh, oh ... forgot to mention about Janet's escape. She does have her priorities set right. When I came in the house I had the days mail. She had vape mail. So before heading off to the ER she opened her package, checked the batt on the new istick 50 (Pink) had a charge. Put a topper on it, and then off we went.

I have been working on stuffed animals (for Fall Festival) all day. Just got a shipment of joints and eyes, so I have been putting the plastic on them, stuffing them, then sewing up the seams. Tomorrow I will get busy with embroidering mouths and noses. Last year, I started after the church rummage sale-- scooped up jeans and pillows. But I burned out on the project. Now I have plenty of time.

Fussing with vapestuff was a low secondary activity. No water, and very little electricity, so wasn't able to get other stuff done. Hopefully the new water heater is working now, and I will be able to wash dishes and shower before church.

Janet, that had to have been scary. Hope they get to the bottom of the problem and resolve it so you don't have another episode.

We'd love to see a pic of your work! I had a friend in college whose grandmother made her a teddy bear out of an old mink coat. We kidnapped it and held it for "ransom"....I've straightened up (some) since then.

So glad you're feeling better Sweetie. Please be careful helping your friend move today. Take care of yourself!

Last year I got a commission to make some as a memento of deceased grandfather. And possibly another set. I have a note about an old sealskin coat that I have not followed up on.

The present group is mostly old jeans, but I also scored some black felt. Parish secretary printed some more patterns, I am due to pick them up today. What I have finished, except for some embroidery, fills a large laundry-bag. I have a huge garbage bag full of loose stuffing. My air-filter is getting plugged! Once I have cut out and assembled another bunch, I will order more eyes.

Janet, have you thought about reducing nic?
