Oh, me too. Missed ya'll on the porch last night - had (of course) some great discussions...

We'll still have 2 house guests 'till early next week; our daughter and Janet's good friend. That and last night was 'finals' for Idol and the Dancing TV shows. May not see us in the Hangout 'till next week.

Those were the shows my wife was glued to. I waited till after DWTS to join in.

maybe at some point you could get one of those scooters

I purchased my own scooter many years ago. I have a lift in my van for it and up until my last medical problem I was able to go anywhere I wanted to alone. Including two cruises and lots of vacations, driving, flying........jusr whatever Highly recommended.

Matt, I'm sorry you didn't get more sleep last night. I hate having to waste my day catching up on sleep.

Thank you!

I hope I remember this long enough to start using it.
Not looking good this morning either.

Whew! Finally caught up and now I have to go. Gotta get cleaned up and then make some bread. Got the laundry in and am supposed to go to the furniture store with my friend. No, no furniture for me, for her new house. I'm getting a kitchen and that's enough new stuff for awhile!

On the appliances, I'm looking at a Samsung bottom drawer fridge, and LG gas stove and microwave and an LG dishwasher. For years I always went with Whirlpool, but in recent years we've had 2 fridges break down and the last repairman said the newer stuff is junk. Reports I've seen online seem to go with LG or Samsung unless you go really high end which we're certainly not doing.

See Matt, we must be psychic because we already celebrated your good news. Even though you think it's ok it sure does help to get an official determination. Happy Day!!!

Roto, glad you're taking a break.

Gotta go. Catch you later!

Back from Doc. It's official, Cancer Free for three years. Big relief but, this time I really wasn't worried. Don't know why but, I knew I was OK.:banana::banana:

Can't think of better news to come home to! Congratulations Matt!!!!!

We had a fantastic trip! My pastor's wife was teaching in a Bible school about children's ministry and I halped! I taught dramas and balloon animals (which they've never seen). It was such an incredible time of encouraging them to reach out to the kiddos. We did an outreach to a local neighborhood and had about 100 kids show up. We did face painting and balloon animals.

I have been to several third world countries and quite frankly, they all look sorta the same. The people look a little different and the writing on the buildings is different, but otherwise, very similar. I noticed one huge difference: the Ethiopian people are incredibly loving towards each other. It is not unusual to see a couple of guys standing around talking with their arm draped around the other one's neck or to see women walking arm in arm. They all greet each other with a hug and a peck on the cheek...or three!

The food was interesting. Unfortunately, we didn't get much variety, so it got a little boring after the first week. Their coffee was amazing!!! We went to several coffee ceremonies and I brought back about 7 pounds of coffee!

Germany was awesome! I spent a couple of days visiting a girl I used to disciple. I was supposed to take the train to meet her, but they were on strike. Her and her husband picked me up at the airport and drove me through the country driving 95 on the autobahn! It was incredible visiting places built in the 1700-1800's. I got to visit the tallest church in the world - wow! The stained glass was breathtaking! It was too dark inside for decent photos, but here's one I found on the internet:

These panels are just about floor to ceiling, wall to wall! Just...WOW!

I'll be spending the next couple of days catching up on sleep! Glad to have hot water again!

Glad to have hot water again!

That is the one thing that I miss the most when I am in the Philippines also - the first thing I do is spend about a half hour in a hot shower when I first get home... aaaaahhhhhhhh sure feels good to be home...

We were out shopping most of this morning & this afternoon, then stopped at Steak & Shake for lunch.

Stopped at the nursery to pick up more herbs and now it' s chill time!

Sushi!!!! So happy to see you back! What an incredible experience and life memory you've made for yourself!

Legs, let me know if you have any luck with finding that extender. We could use one since I often like to use my tablet in the bedroom and our Desktop is on the other side of the house. I'm lucky if I get one bar sometimes!
God I am about to go crazy. Trying to hook up a wifi extender. Think I have to go back to Best Buy and get a different one.

Welcome back Sushi - nice that everything went well for you. I had one short trip to Germany when my son was an exchange student there. I was in Belgium on a business trip so dropped in on him for a few days. Even the small town churches were inspiring for me to see. The detailed craftsmanship of the wood working was amazing on those old, old churches and chapels.

Man tech support is great even if you can only understand every other word. Nice strong signal in my vape lab now.

Welcome home Sushi!!:banana:Glad everything went well and it sounds like it met your expectations. Welcome home. Now we have to get you into the hangout (Deb's Place) I think you'll enjoy it. It's a Google hangout that several of us have been hanging out together in. Really cool to see a face and hear a voice to go with the friends we've been conversing with here in the forums. There's a link kicking around to it somewhere around here!

It works great. Just a matter of getting tech support on the line and have them walk you through the setup. I got the Netgear one at Best Buy that is on sale for $49.95 right now. Do a search of Best Buy wifi extenders and the one I got is the wn3000 I think. Now I have 45 bars on my computer up here and my smart tv recieves Netflix with no stopping and starting it is fantastic.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Wow the Railroaders in Germany can go on strike. Can't do that here they had an injunction against us before we even did it.
