Well.. If you want to get technical...
Donate here: The Red Nose Day Fund | Donate to Red Nose Day
Then go to Amazon and buy a red clown nose.
:D

I had hoped that when I made the initial post on the idea of having a "Red Nose Day" 24 hour marathon within "Deb's Den", that plenty of noses would still be available .. however, although it is gratifying to know this Charity Drive has exceeded it's own expectations and apparently run short of noses (a very good thing) .. if we are unable to appear in the Den with Red Nose, then the idea seems to fall flat at this point .. although I do have my Red Nose, having purchased $50.00 worth soon after I heard of the program and handed them out to folks, thus helping contribute to the shortage of Noses :) ..

As Ken mentioned, you can still participate VIA donation .. and I still think a Marathon Hangout day commemorating a worthy cause is worth doing .. I might even be convinced, depending upon how Mr Arthritis is feeling, to break out a guitar and provide some live entertainment a la "The Jerry Lewis Telethon" .. in fact, I'll need Johnny to help me out and perhaps Dave on the trombone .. ?? Anyone else that can throw down out there and we'll have a "Virtual Band" ..

There's other ways to sport a red nose at the Hangout, ya know. Just saying ....

Yep .. in fact, Mike, during one of my visits to the Den, I suggested painting your nose with red lipstick if you could not get a real nose .. in my case, drink as I might, I was never able to induce "Red Nose Alcohol Syndrome" .. (RNAS) .. I'm lucky that way .. :)

W.C. actually had Rosacea and that is what caused his red nose. Alcohol can cause it to inflame more, but it will be at least a light red even without the alcohol. He played the role well.
My father had that too. Both Rosacea and a Gin Blossom. They complimented each other nicely!

Traffic here on the porch has definately slowed down the last few days. Not saying that "Deb's Place" is to blame but, I have noticed the slow down. Just saying... :2c::)

I think, generally, traffic always slows some at the onset of Spring / Summer .. at least it always seemed that way to me .. during the Winter months, people are more housebound .. now, with Spring, yard work, getting out more, etc .. :2c:

By Jove, I believe you are correct. I'm still recovering from the big reflux screwing from the other day. Still coughing up lungers but, really starting to breath better so I think I will survive. Got a sinus headache going but, entirely unrelated to the other. Maybe I'll pop in later this afternoon and see what's up over at Deb's.

Yea, yard work is a PITA..., but gotta be done - love gardening, but not weeding, mowing, trimming, etc.

Tell me about it! I'm taking a short break from it all along with some other household chores! Just had to sit for awhile and have a good cup of java! Not sure if I'm done for the day or not.......

If I was not privy to these essential nuggets of knowledge through my dear friends on this Forum, I would be much more knowledgeless!

New subject: as some of you are already aware, I am a cook who is inexperienced, intrepid and enthusiastic all at the same time.

The abbreviations printed on the package label are apparently in Greek. That fact, combined with my ignorance, means all I know is that these are some kind of ribs. They looked good so I bought them. Some of the pieces have bones and some don't.

I also had no idea how to cook them, so I winged it. An hour and 40 minutes in the oven at 350, some ketchup on top, foil-covered in a broiler pan. Internal temp was 185 after cooking so I knew they were safe to eat.

With more ketchup on the side, absolutely delicious, to me anyway. Since no one else is likely to be gettin' any of 'em, that's all that matters. 2 down, 4 to go, prolly tomorry and Wednesday.

I do not play any instruments (well, I can clang a few spoons) and you do NOT want me to sing, but a little jam session would be awesome!

Well, Dave has not weighed in on the trombone idea yet .. (I'm pretty sure it was trombone, although he may have additional skills) .. nor Johnny .. so, we'll see what's up when and if .. fy ..

It can be done :

Gotta say that's the reason I don't hang here much anymore, I'm not into the whole chatroom thing (hubby no likey) and when I come back here either no one's here or they're talkin' about what went on in the chatroom. Not tryin' to rain on the parade here but it has changed the atmosphere back here, feels kinda like bein' the neighborhood kid that doesn't get to play with the other kids, ya know? I think it's very cool that y'all have Deb's Place, just don't forget your other pals that love to chat and hang with y'all on the porch too. And that's my :2c: :).
