OBTW, I waited until Cathy's customers had cleared her 'shop' area. As she was replacing a handmade short leash on a display rack, I inquired if she had any fur lined handcuffs. She said "No I don't..." as she raised her eyes and da rest is history, or would dat be herstory...

Ya'll need to keep track of Cathy's treks and try to make arrangements fer a 'meet up'!

Wow, .. :) .. I need to get the boxes I ordered first and experiment some .. the thickness of the wood sides being my main concern .. I'll need to build a jig to clamp the boxes in which must be on a rotational platform, since a lot of turning around is involved and they are relatively small items hard to grip by hand, especially with arthritis .. as far as material, I have an 80 drawer old wood library card catalog that contains everything I need, but thanks ..

If the large side of these things is too thin for inlay work, I'll likely inlay another piece of wood and then clamp and glue that to the box .. it will make them slightly thicker .. then feather the edges to blend with the original .. How does this look to you .. ??

OK, seriously folk, I just got tossed headfirst into the Twilight Zone!

Sittin' here in da garage with the side door open, catchin' up on da porches... and *poof*. An older wet yellow lab/golden retriever (no collar) wanders in and up to my bench; soooo much like my Ginger I had to put down eight years ago!

I'm in tears, quite beside myself and overwhelmed at the moment.

Dried her off, several hot dogs and a bowl of water, and she's quite comfortable and not inclined at all to head back outside. In fact she's laying in one of Ginger's fav spots near my feet.

I am completely blown away; truly thought I was hallucinating. Still quite unsettling...

(half hour later) She has a dime size lump twix her left eye and upper jaw along with a thumb size lump near her mid-spine. I'll reluctantly leave the side door open in case she wants to head 'home' tonight. If she's still here in da morn', I'll get in touch with my ol' vet tomorrow and see if there is a micro chip. Hopefully I can find her owner in that she is just so sweet, as was my Ginger.

Day-um, this is really surreal in my experiences... why am I still crying?

I saw no wood from Deb in the hangout :sneaky:
ya did now. :p

It's going to be a Long Day's Night. Got two of the grandkids from 5 P.M. to whenever tomorrow morning.
It's Rolling Stones night in Orlando!!!
she was precious, hope y'all have a good night

Ooooh, pretty! I have a tackle box that I have everything in because I haul it back and forth to work.
i have the same type box from harbor freight and love it. I like that even if it should flip upside down, my stuff will stay put.

On the flipside, the allure of turning out a very limited number of box mods, with designs that are unique
Absolutely gorgeous work you do, that tree is amazing. Glad you intend to stay small if you get into this.

I feel so special! I got a genuine, real life, IFFY HUG!
I'm jealous! But so happy y'all got to meet! Hope one of those 3 hugs he gave was from me.

In fact she's laying in one of Ginger's fav spots near my feet.
awwwwww waiting to see how this turns out.

I do hope you can find the owners for their sake. But if not, I know she will be well cared for. ;) Maybe the doggie gods are shining down on you - to help this girl find her way home or to a new home.

The lumps are probably fatty tumors. My Golden had many as the years went by. He was a rescue I got as an 8 week pup. He lived to almost 14 before cancer finally stole home from me. But the fatty tumors are nothing to worry about, if that is truely what they are.

Good morning, Porchers!

Seapeach, saw a quick glance at your grandbaby, and wanted to see more, but you went as I came in. Beautiful!!!! How did the rest of the night go for you?!

Iffy, that dog coming to you is surreal! There are no coincidences! I truly believe that! Your tears show what a gentle and kind spirit you truly are! :) :) :)

Well, I'm just getting started after a good night's rest! Read the last page rather than catch up, otherwise I'd never post.....so if I missed anyone, please accept my apologies! :)

Good morning all you early risers and everybody else who comes along. Well, we got through it. Lovely night. Jaida Jalina Love spent the night with Lilah Violet. Sebastian fell asleep with Grandpa reading stories at 11:00 P.M., Kira took her bottle well (even though mom breast feeds), at precisely 7 P, 10P, 1A, 4A and 7 AM , 3.5 ounces, was either quiet, listened to songs or happy most of the time. AND I got this awesome pic! :headbang:
(A little out of focus on the screen, but hey, they were there!) Rolling Stones rock on!

Well, got up early and took the 'golden gypsy' to the vet for a microchip scan, no chip. Called Animal Services and several vets to report a found Golden. AS hasn't gotten back with me... weekend ya know.

Geeze, haven't bought dog food (lamb & rice) in eight years. Also got a collar for her.

I do seriously hope we can find her 'family'. I'm sure they miss her. She has a terrific disposition and has been taken care of in that I can smell dog shampoo, even after her being soaked from the rain last night.

And thanx for all the kind porch support!

Told Doree about the concert. Also told her I was amazed the old boys could still move like that. Her response: "It's amazing what they can do with animatronics these days.":lol:

Johnny, based on your story on this it could truly be fortuitous if the owner does not come forward and you decide to keep .. it's an uncanny story so far with Kismet seemingly in play, at least so far .. I'm going to tread as lightly as I can on what I say next .. the timbre of your voice, the look you get, the general vibe that translates even thru the miles that separate us when you speak of Patty, it is heartwarming, emotional, sad, optimistic, thankful, and heart wrenching all at the same time ..

If Kismet deals you a canine companion that can help a little with what I know you are going thru emotionally, then it's cause for at least a large spoonful of Happiness ..

On a side note .. without a doubt, I know last night I ruffled a few feathers with some of the comments I made .. and yes, I do sometimes cuss like a Sailor .. it just happens .. I try and mind my P's a Q's, but, I'm the same way in person .. so to the Girls that were on last night, if I offended you in any way, my apology .. to the guys, tough $#!& .. ;)
