A sweet potato and four red potatoes cut into big pieces/wedges, spritzed with olive oil and sprinkled with oregano and ginger, baked at 400 degrees on a silicone mat in a broiler pan for about 40 minutes. This is half of them. They went well with hamburgers that I grilled on the George Foreman.

Glad you are feeling better, ChattyRat.

When my mother felt a financial pinch, she would dilute milk in the carton, and add cheaper dry milk, still in the carton. We never new the difference.
Drank a LOT of powdered milk in my childhood. It was OK as long as it was ice cold.

And some of the "latest" reports are now saying... milk isn't really that good for you.

Which brings to mind big pharma again. They need you to get sick to stay in business. And... if they cure you, they go out of business. Capitalism at itz finest. :/

Lots of good memories from Robert's post on the fresh grown vegetables from the garden and of course Mom's wonderful deserts - amazing we had desert every night and I always ate my sisters desert and could never gain a pound. Maybe that is what I am doing wrong now - hardly ever have desert

But I really hate the memory of that powdered milk. My mom used to mix it half and half with whole milk and even cold it was barely tolerable. I swore when I left home I would never drink anything less than whole milk. Which I did for a lot of years - then switched to 2% when the powers that be said that whole milk was not good for you.... but I was very skinny back then - maybe need to go back to whole milk too

My first 4 years of school were in a one room school house, outdoor toilets, outdoor water pump and a pot bellied stove in the middle of the room. Grades 1-8 in there.

I had also switched to 2% for years, since for the amount of milk that I drink I figured that I could do without the extra calories. Then when I was on dialysis I had too high a phosphorus level. So I got this really long list of foods that I could only have a tiny total of each day. Almost all dairy products were high in phosphorous, but for some reason the higher the fat level was the lower the phosphorus level. So to get maximum volume and enjoyment out of the minimal amount of dairy I could have, I was forced, forced, I tell you, to go with whole milk and ice cream.

And then I was reminded again of how much better whole milk was, and decided that life was too short to lower the quality of one of my favorite foods. I've never gone back. Whole milk and bacon are too good to give up.

yessss !!!

Heya Rat2 . I started to put up Areosmith's "Pink" viedo, then previewed it and thought this wouldn't be too well received.( I feel like I need to go wash my eyes) But I'd really like to see you posting in the Pink again.

What they all said, yes, yes, yes.

How sweet! When Tasha looks back at you it seems like she's asking "Is this for me?????"

Thank you! Even the vet and an assistant said that! And she's healthy, except for hookworms:(..but she gave her some oral meds and when i take her back in a couple of weeks she'll check her again when she does the spayed surgery for her. I like this vet, she's very thorough...and she literally lives on a real farm! I got to pet the horses! And there's deer and wild turkeys, a fox and even a coyote occasionally!:D

I think most vets have a farm at home even if they don't live on one! I'm assuming her office is at her farm? How cool is that!!

Umm I think you typoed there. "I always ate my sisters" Maybe a comma?

I think you meant an apostrophe? Sister's, not sisters? Funny how that line just stopped at the end of that sentence with sisters and put more emphasis on actually eating her sisters. Funny. As long as I know what was meant I don't usually pay much attention.
