Perth , Australia
Though this year it did rain in Perth in summer.
No cowboys here , some in areas of Queensland though I'm iffy on their authenticity and rarely you get greeted with Gday.
Food around here needs a big wake up.
Some places have popped up , one I read about calling itself something like the Village said to serve food like in NY.
Well I have pics of food we had in Vegas and I'll be surprised and fall over if the food is anything like that , unless they want $30 for a sandwich.

So raining in Texas in summer.
Has tv being lying about Texas , I suppose there is not cowboys everywhere , BBQ is the states dish and people don't greet each other with Howdy ?
It is highly unusual for it to be raining this time of year. Most folks in the cities aren't cowboys, but some are, and some places you see more than others. BBQ is the state dish, and ranch dressing is the state drink  Some say iced tea, but we put ranch on everything. I say howdy a lot, some folks do, a lot don't nowadays.

I will never get over that today you can buy a 1 terabyte hard drive for a little over $50. I can still remember paying $150 for a 5 megabyte hard drive and thought I was kicking it with that mass storage capability.

My hubby saw an ad the other day for a 2 terabyte drive along with a 32gb flash drive for $89. Geesh!

Yea, and nowadays they are talking Terabytes - I wonder how long it will take to break into the next threshold? Can you imagine a Petabyte thumb drive... :w00t::lol:

Never heard of a Petabyte. Guess that's a whole big bunch of room right?

I really don't get the massive drives. I have 8T in mine but that's 5 separate drives. Plus 2 externals for another 5T. The bigger they are, the more you can put on them. BUT if they're all on one drive... poof everything all at once.

How about
Terabyte, Petabyte, Exabyte, Zettabyte, and then Yottabyte

Are they real or did you just make them up?

Verizon is having a great sale on the iPhone6 today in a Dads and Grads promotion (in store, online or just call them). I replaced my iPhone4 for one for the $40 "upgrade fee". It's only got 16 GB which is way more than I really need. Guess any Tera, Peta, Exas etc. would be wasted on me. Mike got the 64 GB one for $100. A few months ago I'd have had to pay $250 for the phone I just got for the upgrade fee. Crazy.

I have a 1 TB external drive that I only use for archival purposes and only hook up when I am going to back up something on it or restore something from it.
Unless one is an extreme movie storer how does one fill up a TB drive for personal use? Even then that is a LOT of movies.

I've always been fond of the 'googol' and 'googolplex' since running into them in my math studies. There are a googol zeros in a googolplex. That's 10^100 zeros. It's been said there are more zero's in a googolplex then there are atoms in the world we inhabit. That's a lot of zero's.

Had a nice father's day. Went out to brunch w/ Michael (our son), Rachel (his wife) and our little man Miles. Then came back to the house and just hung around and relaxed. My bestest Father's day present ever was to hear Miles laughing. He's just learned to laugh and it was so, so great to hear him.

Gratuitous pics follow.

Weeding in the garden w/ his parents.
