Needed a mobility scooter fer my bride 'bout a year ago. After much research, it would have taken a minimum of six months to get Medicare/TriCare (military secondary coverage) approval. Plus, I would have had to travel over 50 miles to just find an authorized vendor.

After two and a half years, an acquaintance of mine finally got approval fer a replacement wheelchair fer her MS crippled husband!

Got lucky, bought a like new older scooter fer $300 locally on Craigslist.

OK, I'll drop dis 'fore I get too disruptive... <eff 'em>
