I've been in and out for the last little bit. Last night was really bad. Apparently sometime around 3AM liquid lava rolled up my throat and I must have inhaled it. Took a while to settle down, coughed so much my ribs hurt this morning. Apparently I must have aspirated more than I thought because I have had chest rattles all day. Broke out my wedge pillow for tonight and have had very little problem sleeping. Got up at 8am.Took a nap from 3pm till 5pm. Went to bed at 9:30 and just woke up a few minutes ago when Doree came to bed. Going back to sleep in a bit but, thought I would check in. If the rattle isn't gone by tomorrow night I'll see the doc on Tuesday.
That's an awful feeling. My husband took Nexium for two years and healed his esophageal problems. He doesn't take anything now, but occasionally gets up and eats popcorn to settle his stomach. Seems to absorb the acid, then he sleeps fine. I still get it rarely, but use Pepcid-AC

I'mjust hanging out with the crickets. I got some research done today. So now I'm using the Scrivener name generator to pick out an Asian name for a character's brother. Not real important character, but the Devil's in the details. Sorry you find yourself in a fog. I slept a few hours last night and took a two hour nap with Greg before I got up to write. If you feel like it, drop by.

when that happens to me, I purposefully cough until I cannot feel any more acid breath. Stomach acid will cause your bronchial tubes to swell and retain fluids. Aspiration pneumonia Is nothing to laugh at over 50. Definitely see your doctor about it if it's not cleared up.

dang matt, hate it when that happens. I used to have the head of my bed up on bricks to try to prevent that. glad you have the wedge pillow. Hope you'll be ok by tomorrow
Problem with the wedge pillow is it's very easy to slide down so you wake up with your feet off the end of the bed and your head at the bottom of the wedge. Doesn't do squatt then. I can't elevate the head end of the bed because I'm not the only one in it. :D

I am familiar with it. Won't let that happen. Nasty stuff isn't it? I don't seem to be able to cough it up when it first happens. COPD makes it hard to cough anything up, even though I have a mild case of it. Not getting any worse but, doc says it will never get completely better. Sucks when it flairs up and I can't breath. Been much, much better since I started vaping.

me and susan are in here now, if you want to come in
Nah, going to try to get back to sleep but, thanks for the invite. I'll try to get in tomorrow. I sure enjoy it when the right mood and folks are in there. Tell Susan hi for me,she is one of the right ones. Not that I don't like them all, it's just that some are funnier than others. You know like us, with the seriously warped sense of humor.

Take a Nexium everyday. Prilosec before that.

Just thought I'd drop in and give everyone a hug. Monday! YAY! I am off to try and see if I can sleep like that adorable baby. One of the best pics I've ever seen and that is including my own 2. I think all babies sleeping are adorable. I've often wondered what they can dream about. I think my dogs run after rabbits when they sleep. Or at least I think that is why their little paws scratch my .....

Well, I'm off to dream of something. . . maybe

Morning All, much better this morning so far. No rattling so that's one thing g I don't have to worry about.
Seriously, that really is one of the cutest baby pictures I have ever seen. Your right about wondering what they dream about but, that baby is definately dreaming about something nice. Seen lots of newborn smiles that could be attributes to gas, that ain't one of them!
