Though I do not much care for flying in them, they are very cool. I always thought there was almost nothing greater than watching a pair of AH1's on a hunt using an OH6 as bait to draw fire then swoop in with guns and rockets blazing.

The only time I got airsick was flying in the smelly belly of a Chinook. My guess the reason was an inexperienced pilot that could not sync the twin rotors causing a rocking motion.

Its common for some houses with a bore to have a brown fence or brown footpath (sidewalk) where the bore water has been.
We do get that here but, not as often. In Florida if you don't go down far enough you can have sulfur water that stains the concrete and stucco.

Finishing up a custom job today I've been working on for a week and a half .. meeting with my client in Chicago this weekend to demo a variety of electronics for it so she can pick what suits her fancy .. it's turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself ..

That is such beautiful stuff UW. I am in awe.

In the USA do you ever get the houses where peoples bore water causes everything it touches to go brown ?
Others have stated familiarity with such browning but I don't know about it.

BB, maybe you could use a different colored font or a special emoticon when you're being sarcastic.
Oh, no, no, no. No one has to appreciate my penchant for irony, but I will be who I am without telegraphing my motives.

Come to think of it, I don't believe I've ever said one sarcastic thing in my entire life!

Very funny! Dec 31 1999, 4:30 pm My boss and I had just finished wiring up a generator sub panel for a guy that was absolutely sure the world was ending. The entire garage was packed with non perishable food stuff bottled water batteries...everything a post apocalypse survivor would need ( although i didn't see 1 case of beer), he paid cash for the job and was trying to get his gen to start, and asked us if we knew anyone who could fix it before midnight. I said I didn't know anyone. All his effort came to naught just because of a dead generator. I woke up the next morning w/ a massive hangover and chuckled cause the world was still here. So freak out ,panic and run screaming under the porch for shelter. I'll hand you a beer over the side, unless we're outa beer then it's panic attack time and it's everyone for themselves. Women and coolers 1st!
So you met Iffy back in 1999?

We were talking in the hangout about wraps. I get samples from 3M of their DI NOC material. You can request up to 5 samples, once you select your samples and go to your sample "cart", you can up each individual sample to 2 of each. They are 8x10 samples of sticky backed vinyl sheets. You fill out some business stuff - I say I am remodeling (which I am, my mods!) and they send them, free, via UPS. I have done this about 4 times now, about 6 months apart. I have lots of neat wrap material, and I wrap everything! Just the crafty person I am! Here is the link to 3M: (I have not done many links with the new software so hope this works)

3M US: DI-NOC Architectural Surface Finishes

Just some fun for the crafty folk out there. Not just for mods, could be used for anything! Only once I received a follow up email from a sales rep "If you need any more info....". Fun!!! :w00t:

Helicopters don't fly - they beat the air into submission.
So which one is your private ride? Nice!

And, you sir, are absolutely correct. Helicopters fly by beating the air into submission. My private ride would be the Bell 407......nice smooth ride and very fast. :)

When I was getting ready to go fly, the first thing the pilot asked me was if I was going to be afraid. My reply, "I don't have enough sense to be afraid."

Well, I know how this group likes to keep up with the latest studies being done - I mean it's our lives and we should be kept informed - so when I saw this I just had to share...

We Ate and Ranked All 27 Pop-Tart Flavors
thanks, but these people are not to be trusted, they ranked brown sugar cinnamon (frosted) really low, and blue raspberry very high. Silly people. Wrong on both counts!! :p

We were talking in the hangout
and it was soooooo great to get to talk to you. The last time we were both in there, I couldn't really hear you. Don't remember if you were shy being your first time, or having equipment issues. But this time was great!!

During the day, I'm in the workshop .. and having the luxury of being self-employed and now in a "semi-retirement" mode ;), I warned everyone when I told that story a while back, that I might be more of a pest than I had been in the past .. today, although I have not yet collected any real money from work (some days are just like that and Musicians are notorious for delaying payment, etc) .. I did need two watch batteries replaced, and the Jewelry store wanted $12.00 each to replace .. dropped by Walgreens and got 'em for $7.50 / two pack .. $24.00 - $7.50 == $16.50 back to the Hip Pocket National Bank .. Eureka .. ..
Willie, You keep saying pest and bother and such. I personally am truly glad that you are here more often. I enjoy your company. If we lived closer to each other I can see us solving the world's problems on a regular basis. Neither one of use would get anything done but, they would be some most enjoyable afternoons.

Me Mike? If so, I didn't get it.

Look in the conversation called "re: o-rings". I miss the old PM system.

I got to fly up to Camp Blanding in a Huey once. Over civilian air space the pilot kept it pretty tame but once we were over the camp He started knocking to leaves off the top of the trees, while the other chopper play'd follow the leader. I would never have imagined that such a big beater could be that fast and agile. Every one of us were yelling "Do it again!!!!" but we were getting low on fuel.

100% totally agree. Frosted brown sugar cinnamon is tops, but I really like the raspberry and blueberry a lot also...

Every one of us were yelling "Do it again!!!!" but we were getting low on fuel.

When my daughter was young (maybe 10) she got to experience a high speed taxi on a C130 - well high speed for a C130 - she was chosen to experience it from the cockpit (out of the 25 kids they allowed on the ride) - the whole ride - she kept yelling more, more, more - chicken, chicken, chicken.

The pilot was harassed by his crew mates for almost a month about the little girl that beat him up that day...
