So excited for ya! Can't wait to see pics
camera-smiley-emoticon.gif

Thanks. Yes it is pretty exciting. It's the first time for a new kitchen for us so it's a new experience. I can't wait to knead dough on a granite counter. The oven has a bright blue interior and they say that all you have to do is spritz water in there and turn on the clean cycle and 20 minutes later it's all clean! Yay!! I'll never have to mess with oven cleaner again!!! Not that I clean my oven very often. By the time it's cool enough to clean I've forgotten about the burned mess on the bottom and don't remember till the next time I turn it on and the kitchen fills up with smoke. At least I'm not as bad as my friend who stored a birthday cake in the oven, forgot about it and turned the oven on...

I realize the hangout is there and I like going into it. Matter of fact, I spent quite a while there yesterday. I want to note that not everyone on the porches go, like or can use the hangout and we need to guard against thinking everyone knows what was talked about. In other words don't forget to post here or forget your friends here.

What with all the activity around the house, I'll selfishly agree with you Matt. Just too pooped to be socialble at the end of the day.

Oh my - what a good looking pup.

I've lived here 8 years and only cleaned the stove once! Not that it didn't need it!!! Sounds lovely.

I woke up about 3 a.m. Monday morning to a funny sound. Turns out the blue istick 50 on my nightstand was firing all by itself. IT'S POSSESSED!!!! Quick, find an exorcist! It shut off and I laid there wondering if I dreamed it. Sure enough, about the time I was supposed to get up it did it again. WTH? A little later I was sitting here having my coffee, telling Mike about it and IT DID IT AGAIN!! Mike says "oh yeah, some people are having a problem with that". So, he contacted VaporTek and they said no problem, send it back and they'll send me a new one. We only got it a month ago. My pink one is just fine but now I don't know if it can be trusted.

Oh good. I'm not the only one! My sister visited and said the oven was going to catch on fire. Sheesh, didn't think it was that bad. Then I helped a friend move and had to use a shop vac to clean out the bottom and cleaner and a putty knife to clean the door. I figure I had several years to go before mine got that bad! Bet there's a lot of people who don't bother cleaning the oven. Yuck!

Sometimes when I'm home alone I'll make dinner so there are leftovers for myself for another day or 2. I agree though, can't do that all the time. I like to try new recipes, but end up with more than we can eat, especially if it's cookies or something. We certainly don't need them sitting around the house 'cause we'll eat them all so I'll take some to a neighbor.

When I moved into this apartment I found I have a self cleaning oven, but....the range is old.....timers don't work correctly and after googling all over the place about how to possibly use it and and numerous warnings of what could go wrong......I attacked it with baking soda and a vinegar rinse....

I'm gonna claim, for the moment anyway, the record for not cleaning an oven. It may or may not have been cleaned one time around 15 years ago. If it was cleaned then, that was the only time since it was new in 1993. Zero or one cleaning in 22 years. Then again, it is not heavily used and until a couple of years ago it had gone a solid 10 years straight without being turned on even one time. It's getting more use these days as I continue to learn to cook.

Edit: wait a minute, I forgot that it was cleaned 2 and half years ago.

But, I really don't feel I have much to say. And, that just seems rude.
Your smiling face is all we need! Nothing wrong with being quiet... it's... uh... a delightful change of pace compared to oh never mind.

did that work?
Sure did! What a beautiful baby!
