Milk:

Can't remember ever being weaned, hence... ummm, never mind...
Used to dunk white bread in milk as an after school snack (yum). Actually, dunked a bunch o' stuff in milk.
Got stationed in da PI ('66), military powdered reconstituted milk. Couldn't even stand what dey called chocolate milk. Gelatin brews became a necessity. 'Bout dat time, became a fan of malts & hops as a fav. Alas, not served in da chow hall...
Got stationed in 'Nam ('67), new formula; reconstituted concentrated liquid milk. Chocolate I could enjoy; white, noper, no way!

Since then, I'll drink chocolate milk, but never whole white, nor any percentage thereof. I'll suck down a couple of Yoo-Hoos six-paks before I'd ever consider white milk!

Oh, buttermilk? Fergeddaboutit! Should only be used in biscuits, pancakes and kickazz batters!

BTW, how in da world does one determine when buttermilk goes bad?

no yoo hoo for me, but a big dose of Nestles Quick in a cold glass of milk is heavenly. I drink a 20 oz glass every evening.

I am so sorry, folks. I actually let a typo go. This is embarrassing.

I left soon after posting it, and was gone all afternoon.

Your suppose to not say anything or blame an auto-correct by your computer. :)

I like Hershey's syrup. A useful additive if I ever ran across one. Great in milk or especially on ice cream. That and Carmel syrup. Both on ice cream (together) is great. I'm drooling already!

When it no longer pours, but crawls out of the carton...

Had to call in sick today. Well, didn't HAVE to. But, the car wouldn't start, and it was too late to take the bus and still be on time. Might as well go all the way if I'm already going to be well over an hour late!

Haven't even been reading all my subscribed threads lately. Posting, not at all. Life is just a bit overwhelming right now. Of course, I'm easily overwhelmed!

The apartment manager let us know today that we can pick up the keys for the new apartment either late Friday or early Saturday. They don't know for sure which yet. They've finished the repairs. Putting in new carpet today, and painting tomorrow. Or, something like that.

I wish I could have called in on Saturday instead of today! But, I'm not really a necessary part of the main moving process anyway. I can't lift and go up and down stairs like the youngins. But, I sure can empty boxes and arrange things as they bring them in. That would have been fun.

On the other hand, I'll be out of my daughter's way while she's in gung-ho mode. So, that's the bright side.

Sounds like you really have your hands full! Calling in sick was a very good idea. Some days are not worth the effort to get to work!

Anybody remember Bosco? Used to LOVE that stuff and couldn't find it for years. One of our kids found some and brought me home a bottle. I was so excited. Mixed up a glass of chocolate milk - and hated it!! I used to like this stuff? Tastes like it's got liquid plastic in it! Guess what I remembered was not reality or, Hersheys spoiled me. Sure enough, the other kid brought me a bottle too! Uh oh. I really appreciate it, but....

Wish I could share the Strawberry Shortcake with everyone here. I made plenty.

I might do it often. . . but when I do. . . it good. heehee
I absolutely love strawberry shortcake. What kind of cake do you use. We use poundcake so I guess it's actually strawberry poundcake. COSTCO had some huge absolutely delicious strawberries a while back. I can't remember the actual price but, they were really reasonable and we bought a lot. Cut up and sugared them, Mmmmmm Mmmmm Good. So many that they actually went bad before we could eat them all. After all I am a diabetic (not practicing very well) and I can't pound down that much sugar everyday. Loved it though. Here you got me drooling again!!!:lol::thumbs:

P.S. Store bought or home made whipped cream? I love the Pssshhhht in the can. When I serve pie or shortcake I always ask Doree "Pssssht or no Pssssht?"

Well not any where near as bad as mine

At least you did not eat your sisters.
:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Nope.
Depends on how many sisters.
Single sister - sister's
2 or more - sisters'
Hehehe

Well I actually have 3 sisters - but it was only the one always on a diet that would let me eat her "desert". However, I did actually have to laugh right out loud at some of the comments :lol::lol:

Oops, I can't get the dang picture to post. GRRRR

Yummy - Strawberry Shortcake is one of the few deserts that I just cannot say no to. So since you have it all packaged up - does that mean it is on it's way to me :mail:
