That we are... on track - especially with the current forecasts - to being the hottest June ever, to having the most days over 80 (in June) ever, driest June ever.... average moisture content of vegetation is about one half normal for this time of year... doesn't bode well for the fire season, which of course is true for all of us on the West Coast.

(And personally, I agree. We don't fly Britain's Union Jack at the White House, even though it's part of our history...)

I saw forecasts of 20-25 degrees above normal with some areas predicted to hit near 110 degrees ..

Yeah, that's east of the Cascade range where it's normally hotter than here by the Sound. We've been running 5 - 10 over average, and like much (all??) of the West, snowpack is darn near zip. And we're well out of our rainy season. (Yes, we do have one. It's usually from late Sept to June :) )

I have to ditto that, although mine is pretty much silver white these days, I am happy to report I still have (most) of my hair .. however, in my case, it was not just a misspent youth, but pretty much extended through middle age and beyond .. :)

Dang Willie, you're forcing me to qualify my previous post...to include middle age and beyond:(

Well...at least I'm still alive n kickin".....well maybe not actually kickin.... but just a matter of speech:rolleyes:

I really don't think it's the fan, I think it's the motor getting ready to die...it didn't make the weird loud noise last summer. And I'm not about to go thru the expense and hard labor, at my age, to move anywhere, they can just do their job and fix it.
If the motor is going bad it should crap out soon. What with the heat the country is having I'll bet they'll run the a/c all the time.

Mine is pretty much gray/white but I can't say I still have it all. When I look in the mirror it looks like I have it all so I was blissfully going through life thanking my luck stars I still had all my hair. The a while back I got my hair cut and she handed me the mirror to inspect the back and there was a mostly bald spot about 5" across. I ask her how long has that been there and she said "Oh, about 5 years." What did I know, I don't have eyes in the back of my head.

I hit 98 today in Hampton, VA. The heat index was 110. Felt like it outside, I had stated that I wasn't going to leave the house when my doctor called and said she wanted to see me at 1:30PM. So yes I went out today. Ran out and started the car after letting the blast out by opening the doors and started it. Turned A/C up to max and closed the doors and windows. Went back into the house for 15 minutes and it was nice a cool by the time I got into it.:thumb:

I am 1/2 awake. ON pain meds back is out.....
Watch them pain meds, they'll bind you up tighter than a drum. I'm on pain management and am familiar with most of the side effects and that's the one that bothers me the most.:lol:

yeah I know I have been suffering with degenerative disc disease for 10 years or so. Thanks for the heads up though. Might have to eat a few White Castle burgers to loosen things up?

Hope your DR had good news? I go in tomorrow for a much overdue physical, will of course bring up my back issue and my hernia but not discuss my growing baldness ;)
