Anyone on the thread that lives in the Pacific Northwest is apparently facing a heck of a heat wave ..

Intentional controversial statement of the Day : The display of the Confederate Flag as it relates to any area in State Government invokes the dark history of that flag and IMO is cause enough to call the display treason .. while many argue that the flag itself is not the root cause of the tragedy in Charleston, it is a symbol of a repressive era that should have long ago run it's course ..

Well we had 100F degrees today w/ the heat index. Gonna be another hot one tomorrow too.

Now you just need a couple hot dogs and a bag of chips.

Or, if you're so inclined, a pair of binoculars....

he, he ... when our kids were young we always rented a house on the beach w/ Janet's sister and her husband Joe. The women and kids went to the beach and all that. Joe and I sat on the porch w/ our binoculars to keep an eye on 'em.

Kitchen update. Cabinet hardware came and is installed. Counter tops arrived and are installed too. Replacement pantry scheduled to arrive on Thursday. It could/should be all done by weeks end.

yeah I know I have been suffering with degenerative disc disease for 10 years or so. Thanks for the heads up though. Might have to eat a few White Castle burgers to loosen things up?

Hope your DR had good news? I go in tomorrow for a much overdue physical, will of course bring up my back issue and my hernia but not discuss my growing baldness ;)
This call was about the blood pressure issues I've been having. Saw the doc and she changed some med schedules around and we'll see how it works out on my physical appointment July 9th.
As far as baldness goes there is always Rogaine if your willing tray for it and hassle with it. Me, I don't care much.

I've been telling my barber - don't bother holding the mirror behind my head so I can see back there. Out of sight out of mind. It's not a bald spot but its def a lot thinner now-a-days.

the vanity aspect does not bother me but when you start losing it you realize that hair on the head is handy stuff.
No rogane for me I will just vape diketones instead.

Think Deba heard from her and SP is doing well in recovery. Hope to hear more dis eve.

Also hope dat Deba's son is doing well after, what I consider an unpleasant procedure, his experience!

If that link doesn't work try this...

That was pretty cool Matt!

It's done. Everything is out of the old apartment and into the new apartment (or the trash).

My daughter is filling up the aquarium for the poor fish. At 3:30 am, after moving for 2 days straight, sore and aching all over, and covered in bruises, she's filling a giant aquarium a bucket at a time.

She's going to be in pain for a week . . . . at least!

I'm just catching up here. Glad the move is done, but how's your daughter feeling after the move?

Thanks for the tag- it was not difficult to find you here----Oh, and Sterno too!!! Wow, seems like old times!

Welcome! The beach sounds like a great place to be except for today! Whew! Feels like the tropics out there today and then the storms come through. I don't go in the ocean anymore. Used to love it till some critters brushed past my legs a few times and then there's always the sharks... If I can't see what's in that water I ain't going in!

Well, I just got back from canvassing six, so far,of the other ground-floor apartments. My mission was to find out how many other tenants heard the incredibly loud humming noise from the 2nd. floor unit air conditioners that the maintenance man insisted was " normal" and that no one else has complained about, only me.

Guess what... all six of the people I talked to so far said they've never heard the noise I described., or any noise from the upstairs apartments.Three of them invited me in to listen for myself. And they all said to tell management to call them. Tomorrow I'm going to go knocking on more doors and then Wed. i'm going to the office with my list.

If that doesn't get results and get those lazy s.o.b.'s off their butts I'll contact the corporate office.

I guess they haven't got it thru their thick skulls yet who they're dealing with. One woman wants to start a tenants association! There's a lot of disgruntled people here, as is the case in most apartment complexes.

Sounds like you're one of them! Don't blame you one bit though. I think you need witnesses! Maybe you could invite some of your new found gruntles up to your place for an "open house meet and listen".

I know exactly! "Cept the last bunch of years it's turned ALL grayish-white! And i'm rather proud of it cuz, in spite of my misspent youth I'm still alive n kickin'!

I was coloring mine for years and finally just got tired of the time and expense and just stopped doing it. Fortunately the gray came in all sprinkled around so it didn't look too stupid. Now it's pretty much all salt and a little pepper.

I am 1/2 awake. ON pain meds back is out.....

Oh, so sorry to hear about your back. Hope it's behaving better for you tonight. Fortunately mine doesn't go out often, but when it does it's awful.

Anybody heard how Susan is doing?

Watch them pain meds, they'll bind you up tighter than a drum. I'm on pain management and am familiar with most of the side effects and that's the one that bothers me the most.:lol:
I'm in the same position. I suggest adding a softener to your vitamin regimen.

I'm proud of all of my gray hair. I earned every single one of them and I'm still around to talk about it. Yes, that is me and my daughter in my avatar.
