Wow! Those are gorgeous! How do you keep the critters from feasting on them? It seems everything I plant gets chomped!!

A few thing's I want to chime in on

runamok, my stomach has been in a knot since the Dixie flag issue has gone totally out of control! At the risk of alienating some of my most dear porchers, I tried to shed a lil' light on the hypocrisy of the 'issue of the day' with my indigenous Indian post & pic. I'll even go a step further and say that it was the Union flag that flew over treaties broken with broken tribes forced to relocate; and mostly to prop up and promote those with non-slavery self-ambitions (aka personal advancements) with political support at the time. Rationalize that! But, history is written by the victors and shoved up the Alpha Romeo Sierra Echo of the defeated.

BTW, when will we remove George Washington from the one dollar bill, since he owned slaves? Next week, month or year?

I also have served honorably with day-um near every ethnicity/religion during my 20 years in the USofA military and thereafter. That's not counting being a 'guest' in more than a dozen nations upon the face of our globe. Guess what, I embrace 'em all!

As to my heritage, I'm not even close to being a son of the Confederacy. BUT I am a student of US history and the Constitution! AND, I perceive a near non-reversible slide down this 'slippery slope'.

If I've offended anyone's sensitivities with my post, so be it (use da 'ignore' option)! IRDGAS...

Iffy, I agree with everything you have said. I see us heading toward that slope and we're not walking. We seem to be running to give our rights away, in the name of what? People need to wake up and realize that freedom isn't free not is it always pretty.

Amoret....when i was in the hospital a while back with pneumonia I vaped a lot. I had a small purse with a strap and i kept it on my bed so when no one was in the room i vaped. Even when they were, when their back was turned i vaped. No one knew the difference. " course, i'm a sly sneaky oldbroad....
I volunteered and donated at the Red Cross blood drive today. In the interview cubicle, I was done with my stuff, and decided to sneak a vape. One of the vampires came in and caught me. I apologized and stammered around. They have a smoking culture, and he said he quit smoking two weeks ago. He must be having a rough time of it. I told him how long ago I quit, and he thought that was admirable. He caught a tiny vein, because last time was rough because of low blood pressure. They had to work to keep it going, but I gave them my best. Felt fine afterwards. :D
They passed it 10-5 for the kids.
That sux, legs, and Dave. We are here for you.

Ducky, your flowers are beautiful!

I wish I could find a place that would explain this bill. With the amendments they added from what I could understand of the broohaha it is actually 67%. 22% to the consumer and 45% to the vendor which you know will be passed along.
It should all probably come out in the next few days, I would think. When will it actually go into effect?

Mary, in all sincerity, may I ask why? At least, I hope he was sincere...
He was sincere. I was worried that, being health care professionals, they would look down on it, forgetting how most of them take smoke-breaks. Automatic response. They are mostly younger than him, and he is beginning to look at the long view (He came in as we were cleaning up the kitchen, and mentioned how old he is. Of course, he knows how old I am.) Given how close-knit of a team they are, I just don't know how long he can stay quit without vaping.

Automatic response.

I truly can appreciate your honest response here! Just kinda sad that we have to consider a measured response when we know that vaping is a risk reduction option that beats da 'stink' outta 'bakky

Nonetheless, I wasn't trying to confrontational. Just curious as to what the 'limiting factor' was.

If not us, then who?
Luv ya, sweet heart...

but darn if it escapes me now....

You to? That happens to me all of the time. I have gotten so I write myself notes when I think of something. I even taped the conversation with my phone the other day when I was talking the the surgeon after daddy's procedure. I just knew at that moment I could not absorb everything and wanted to play it back later when I could still not understand everything. bahahahaha

I just don't know how long he can stay quit without vaping.

I cannot tell you how many times I tried. Took Chantix twice, patches, gums and I even stuffed cotton into straws so I would have something to suck on. (hey it is harder than you think to do that) There is no doubt in my mind, that I would be smoking right now if I had not tried vaping. But it can be done. My dad threw a half a pack of cigarettes into the garbage can on the court house steps one day in 1964 when he had to be in court. He has never smoked again. And that was with my mom smoking non-stop. I just think some people possess a certain will power when they put their mind to something. I admire anyone who has given up an addiction no matter what way they did it or whatever the addiction was. My will power is a bit subpar but with vaping. . . it was so easy.
I used to tell people that I could not swear that I would never smoke again but after 2 years of vaping, I honestly can't imagine it.

I've taken notes (or had someone with me) when talking to docs and they appreciate it because it avoids confusion later. Recently though I get a print out of whatever the doc has entered into the computer for my chart. It's been very helpful because I'm lucky to remember what I had for breakfast let alone complicated instructions from a doctor.

I dood a bad thing that turned out good. I made some great blueberries n cream juice but have no idea how much of what is in it. I do know how much nic but aside from that.....

Hate it when that happens, but at least you know what you put in it. You'll be able to make it again and make adjustments.

Today was just getting the bill out of committee, to the House floor. If it's not identical with an equivalent bill in the Senate, the Senate would have to approve it too. If it's identical, then I suspect it would go to the Gov, and he'd sign it.

Read that Mount baker vapor is moving to Arizona.

Yup, Mesa, I believe. Not sure on the timing, but there've been a couple local news stories about it. I think one said something like 120 jobs lost.
