Semi, sorry you've got such a long trip to see the doc, but hopefully it'll be worth it and you don't have to do it very often. There is a device you hook on your cell phone that can do a lot of diagnostic work that looks promising, but I think it hasn't caught on yet. It's probably in our future though.

Don't want to have much to do with Facebook since it's so intrusive, but I signed up to see what our kids are up to. It's a nice way to share photos or contact a lot of people all at once. Checking on it once a month or so is enough for me though. It's amazing that so many people evidently can't function without posting several times a day.

Amoret, great to hear of your progress! Going home is getting closer every day!
Sorry to hear about your CC. As Mike said we've had it happen to us several times. Fortunately the bank caught it quickly.
Congratulations on winning the Disruptor! At least that was a bright spot in your life right now. You have such a pretty collection of devices too!
What kind of phone do you have that has a battery that heats up so hot. That's pretty scary!

Roto, that's great news to hear your Dad is doing so much better. that's pretty smart to get your rest before heading off to work. You won't be good to anybody if you end up in trouble from being over tired.

Deb, thanks so much for keeping us updated on Dancin. So glad she's feeling pretty good given that kind of surgery!
Hope they can do something for your son's foot quickly.

Miles was here for the day yesterday. We had summer downpours a few times so we went out on the deck for a science lesson. He was fascinated watching the wind and rain, but not too pleased about feeling the rain on his arm! He put on his mad face. Pretty funny on a 7 mo old. Then we came in and I gave him his first taste of banana baby food. He's got quite an array of "sour" faces when it comes to new food. I think he doesn't know what to do with the pieces in the food, but he did eat it. I gave him some small pieces of watermelon and wish I'd had the camera for that one. You might have thought it was a lemon! No way he was eating it. So, today is catch up.

The istick is still working after it's dip in the pool. Amazing. Mike saved it by jumping in to get it so quickly. I'm a little less concerned about it blowing up on me, but probably will never really trust it. Of course I did drop my iPhone in the toilet and it worked fine afterward so...

Well "Hello" all. Today is the very first time I have not been up before or as soon as I heard daddy stirring.

I was sleeping so good when Rachel barked at something and woke me up. Good thing because I guess he was waiting on his breakfast. I tell you I have spoiled him and I love it.

Took hubby to the doctor yesterday and finally the antibiotics are kicking in and he is feeling better. Mastoids can be scary. I am just glad he went and they found it. So I am grateful.

It is sunny and beautiful right now but I feel the rain. Grrrr But that's okay. I am still H A P P Y. . .

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Sounds like you being there is helping both of you! When you're done with his breakfast could you run over and make us some too???

jup, can't imagine being so tied to a computer and websites that you have to post several times a day!!

So cute to hear about Miles.....I remember those faces. Loved that stage when they were discovering so much new stuff. It's incredible!!

Oh, there are a lot of free ones, and I'm in Kindle Unlimited, eight bucks a month for the loan of up to ten books at a time - well worth it for me - but, I can't get the next books in two series I'm reading either way. I'll survive, until I get the new card, though. It's just kind of a jolt when you've just decided that they are worth buying more of.
I'm a Kindle Unlimited fan as well. Don't you just hate it when the first 3.books or so are in unlimited and the last couple are not. I hate having to pay extra to finish a series. Sometimes though the author just hasn't finished writing it. Then the wait is terrible.

Afternoon everybody. Deb thanks as usual for the status report. It really looks like all our sick folks are making great progress.
I am finally making some progress on getting my shop cleaned up and a start towards packing it up for the big move.
I hope everybody didn't bail on you Scott. We had all just finished talking about leaving the H/O at 10:30 and knew someone would show up at the last minute. Sorry it was you.

Back from the bank, have a new card. I asked about a virtual card but they don't offer it. They do have a prepaid that I could transfer $ to online as I need to use it, but the fees for it were outlandish. $5 per month service fee and $5 per transfer...pass... I'll just stay in the habit of checking the account activity online frequently.

I have a Kindle and really enjoy it. I don't have the Kindle Unlimited, however, my local library offers Kindle books. I just go to their website and download the books at no cost. Just like a regular library book the checkout time is two weeks. There are no late fees and if a book is already checked out I can put it on my wait list and when it is available I am notified via email and can download it. That is how I read all of the Game of Thrones and the latest Stephen King books. I am right now re-reading the Dark Tower series. You might want to check with your local library for a similar program. I love my local library.

I use my Paypal Mastercard as a prepaid card by keeping a positive balance on it with money that I transfer from my checking account. There are no fees for a Paypal Mastercard debit card/ credit card. Paypal gives me cash back, not sure of the percentage, but it's higher than the piddling little amount that my interest checking account pays.

I realize that I'm lucky to have enough in my checking account to be able to do this... I'm certainly aware that for many people it's not a currently viable option, but for those who can do it it's a good way to make more interest than what banks pay.

I just had that happen to me on the last one of a series of six - and that one was on the high end of Kindle pricing. Since it was a fluff series that I was using for bedtime and frequent interruption times, I didn't bother.

I don't have a local library. I did sign up for the North Dakota state library, but they don't have a good online browsing system. You pretty much have to know what you want so you can specifically search for it.

Mike, I absolutely love this! I have spent so many years fighting for places to load/unload a wheelchair. I wish I had thought of something like this! Yay for those good people. Thanks for making my day so much better.

Yep ... the only way it could have been better is if the police officer wrote him 2 tickets ... 1 for illegal parking and 1 for littering.

Our credit union is considering using debit/credit cards with chips in them this year. That should help. Mike recently had to have his card replaced and when the new one came it didn't have the 3 digit number on the back. Can't use it for online purchases without that. So, we had to wait for a new card to come. Frustrating, but at least we could use my card in the meantime.

Awww, that didn't come out right, you know what I mean. Yeah, I'm guilty of spending a lot of time on ECF, but I don't tell everyone here EVERYTHING that's going on! (HA!) Plus, FB is linked to all kinds of advertising. I just clicked on an ad for lawn furniture on sale and I'll bet you if I went to my FB page right now there would be ads for it. Probably doesn't bother most people, but I'm weird that way.
