I got curious about the Australian politician who chartered a helicopter and charged it to the taxpayers. According to this story, it was a 56 mile trip and there is a perfectly good highway that she could have used to make the trip by car.

I'm sure the helicopter was a lot more fun, though.

I LOVE, love, love riding in a helicopter. I volunteered the other day to go on a maintenance run. They needed all the bodies they could find for the weight, and I was more than glad to oblige. It's absolutely awesome to see the island from the air!!

I am surprised to find myself giving it more thought than I did yesterday.

Keep thinking about it. I kind of would enjoy sitting across a table from you and discussing some of the finer point of life (LOL)... Love good - let us say discussions ya know...

vaping doesn't kill nearly as many people as are killed by US citizens using guns against other US citizens.

Yeah, y'all threw me off guard there! Including myself in the description, though, made it a little more difficult for anyone to take umbrage.

Regarding the Porcher Odyssey, it's just a shock to my system to contemplate sharing a roof and probably a bedroom with those who I'll be seeing "in the flesh" for the first time, regardless of their views on things. I've lived by myself for such a long time that it's just something that would be very difficult for me to feel comfortable with. Despite this, I am surprised to find myself giving it more thought than I did yesterday. Willie is doing a really good job of setting the wheels in motion.
That was very polite of you, thanks!

Bells, just so you know, you aren't alone in those feelings. My only experience in group things along these lines is church camps when I was a kid. I absolutely hated it, & have seriously avoided anything like it. We moved every year until I was 14, & I got to stay in one home & school for 2 years until my Mom kicked me out. It was a very mentally & emotionally abusive childhood. Then only reason I went to those camps was because my mother forced me. Being constantly the new kid & dealing with all the crap that involves, made me reclusive. And because I knew we weren't going to be there long I never made more than one friend anywhere & never retained any of them. I'm extremely uncomfortable in some new situations around people I don't know well, or have never met. Now add panic attacks brought on when I feel like I have no contol over something immediate to me, or when I feel like someone is pushing me toward something I don't want or agree with. (Sound familiar?) I don't feel any of that with this group or about this trip. This feels more like a family reunion, everyone part of my family, related, all individuals, seperate opinions, beliefs, & not a threatening one in the bunch. Being family, if one steps out of line, the others will straighten it out. Like Brothers & Sisters keeping each other, & kids included, going in a happy direction. Do you not see that happening on the Porches? But we'll all be together on an actual porch!

Arrrrgh! Didn't make the porch last night. Had a lot going on yesterday and then we got involved in culling through tons of Miles photos for the family. Anyway, what I was thinking yesterday was that some are in favor of Memphis and some for Bradenton. Are there enough people to do both? Just a thought.

Willie, I love your idea about your makeshift deterrence of your shop. That was brilliant!
And I agree about the like button. Maybe we need one that just says "read". I feel weird liking a sad post.

Roto, so glad you got to get your help ride. That must have been so exciting! the closest I've come is trying to control one in a simulator and it was overwhelming. I think helo pilots are incredible! And actually being up in one and being able to look down to see familiar things on the ground would be awesome!

Crystal, let 'er rip! I think all of us at one time or another have vented here and folks often have some very good advice and are definitely very supportive.

Robert, we'd have more hammocks, but I think most of us wouldn't be able to get out of em! Of douse it would make for some hysterical videos...

Ken, that dancing babies clip was a riot.

Kenna, so glad you feel comfortable with us. I think making friends when we were younger is very different than making them now. And this is a great group of people!

Not a problem that what fellow OHS (open heart surgery) people are here for cause so many have the same problems and its good to know you are not alone in this. So many things change in your life and it's good to talk to people who have been there. Plus you would be amazed at how much you can help people even being a newbie cause there are people that are waiting to have it done and they have so many questions. Plus they are scared just like the rest of us.

Saw this in USA Today this morning and clipped out this little section so, if you happen to be road-tripping through the Texas Panhandle look for these...

Quanah Parker Trail – Throughout Texas

The Comanche Indians once dominated large areas of North America, but when they were eventually forced onto reservations, they left few memories of their glory days behind, and their legacy is mostly forgotten by the public. Along with a group of enthusiastic citizens, artist Charles A. Smith decided to create a network of 22-foot-tall steel arrows marking sites throughout 52 counties where the Comanche people hunted, traded and fought under their last chief, Quanah Parker. Today the Quanah Parker Trailfeatures more than 80 of these arrows, which weigh 742 pounds each. Travelers can retrace the footsteps of Chief Quanah Parker as they learn about the area’s rich culture and the history of Native Americans in the Texas Panhandle. So if you find yourself road-tripping through the Texas Plains Trail Region, keep your eyes peeled for arrows!

Well Its another balmy 62 degrees today so far. Think I might change 2 more atty's over to Ti today. Have to thin out one of my flavors cause this Ti makes the flavor so potent one of them is just too much at 2%. the others are a mellower flavor and are fine but the flavors come through like no other wire I have ever tried.

Haven't been in a helicopter I'm somewhat apprehensive as at least planes can glide somewhat with no power.
As for the expensive helicopter ride well I think it was three or four hundred dollars for half hour tour of the Grand Canyon when I looked a few years ago , so five thousand for 15 minutes is very high in comparison.

It will have an IGO S & a Catfished "?" Rouge clone. Igo is a single coil the Rouge is dual.
Oh good, that'll give you a great idea of both. The Igo S is a very small atty, and the rogue has the top air flow, so great to get the hang of squonking on. Some like the rogue some don't, seems there are better ones out there, but that's a great one to start with to see if you like that type and impossible to leak from oversquonking unless you vape standing on your head. Someone put up the link to the lounge, here's the link to the whole reo forum. Can't wait til you get this! Reos Mods | E-Cigarette Forum

this is on my bucket list to do some day!! I'd make great ballast!!

they're not forgotten among Indian people though, the arrow is a great representation, they were pretty brutal to both whites and Indians. Quanah Parker was a good chief though.

I can't even begin to list how many kinds of WRONG that is!! hehehe funny though
