I get it at Wal-Mart.Never heard of it, will have to see if Kroger carries it.
Is it real hot?I get it at Wal-Mart.
yeah it is hard to quantify. A bit spicy to some is HOT to me. I will put maybe 3 splashes of Louisiana hot sauce in a bowl of pinto beans...I don't know how to quantify that. No, in moderate quantities. buy a small can to begin with. I get the big one!
At this point, there is NO final destination agreed upon. Willie has tried to emphasize this point and is more than open to da porchers inputs.
A lil' while ago, I got to thinkin' 'bout how we could maximize attendance to our 'porch gathering'. Thankfully, Willie dropped in da HO and we all there had a lil' discussion. Da general consensus was dat if anyone was to 'commit', it wouldn't be just for da convenience of we folk dat live down here, or those wishing to just for a 'drive by'.
Then you will be fine with Tony.yeah it is hard to quantify. A bit spicy to some is HOT to me. I will put maybe 3 splashes of Louisiana hot sauce in a bowl of pinto beans...
There you go puttin the pressure on me.hiya Porchers hope all have a great day
I think a lot of salt usage amongst folk of a certain age comes from military service. In the Navy is salted everything without even tasting it as a rule. The government recipe cards that they cook by never seasons anything correctly. Salt was needed to make it reasonably edible.Yep ... that was me too years ago. I was always used to reaching for the salt shaker before I even picked up my fork. Can't tell you how many times Janet said "did you taste it first", as I was applying the salt liberally. She finally broke me of the habit.
I've actually never heard of it. Some explanation is in order please?I'm sorry, I thought Tony Chachiere was and is one of the Major Food groups ..![]()
I had to work hard to avoid the "F" word. Still do actually. In the Navy it's a noun, verb, adjective, etc.!I like it too, however, I think it is full of sodium.
Guilty, but I have really toned it down. Working as a corporate trainer in the bible belt I would get chastised just saying da**.
Yeap, I'm an ol' goat.
As far a setting it up, it appears to have a lot in similarity and similarity to cat rangling as well!Thank you, Johnny .. the "Odyssey" thread was opened as a discussion / kick the tires / gather some input / gauge interest / pursue ideas .. from all that want to .. I said from the get go that I'm not married to any concept / plan .. my initial outline was simply based on a few factors and was a hypothetical scenario .. since Spring seems to be the main agreement point, there is time to pull it together ..
Anyone and everyone that would like to present an outline of their thoughts and do it honestly and without reserve .. is very much encouraged to do so ..
I presented an idea, based on the years we've spent on the Threads and the feelings that some have expressed over those years that it would be great if we could, at some point, have a real, person to person get together ..
I have never, ever, facilitated a Family Reunion style event .. my years of coordination of equipment and people / travel was more along the lines of "We're due in Denver on September 8th, we're staying at the Marriott at such and such address and we set up starting at 6 AM .. be there if you want to get paid" .. I'm finding the Family Gathering thing just a bit different ..![]()

It's supposed to be a Cajun version of an all purpose seasoning. Kinda like Lowry's Seasoned Salt. It's just a perfect combination of seasonings that are great on or in anything. Eggs, salads, chicken, seafood, soups. Or as part of any meat rubs. It's good stuffs!I've actually never heard of it. Some explanation is in order please?
what.......you thought this was going to be easy???????I'm finding the Family Gathering thing just a bit different ..![]()
If wiki is to be believed, it is about 30% salt. Then red chiles, I think cayenne, but I'm only basing this on the fact that it's not uber spicy and I love cayenne and I love tony chachere's. then some garlic and other spices. cajun season salt. lolI've actually never heard of it. Some explanation is in order please?
Amen.Since that's been part of my normal vocabulary since Prohibition, I embrace it as a multi purpose word that can be used in so many various scenarios and contexts .. as some that Hang Out can certainly attest to ..![]()
