Welcome to the porch! It wraps all the way around the building, so lots of space :)

As said, CE4+, CE5 heads are rebuildable, very similar to rebuilding Novas and even Kanger BCC. Just use longer wicks :)

Yes, fear of hardware failure is a driving force when leaving the house. I'll have at least two devices, both with fresh 18650s or freshly charged, and with full toppers of different flavors. One will by my SVD, often with a 5 ml Hypertank. The other may be my KMax or a 1300 Spinner with some other large capacity BCC. With somewhere north of 3000 mAh and 7 ml of flavor, I'm getting comfortable :)

I also have a couple of lightly padded Altoid type tins that can hold 3 or 4 extra toppers, that I'll sometimes take if I think it's going to be a really long excursion, and proper (noncondictive) boxes for extra batteries as well.

Good morning everyone. Hope you are all doing well and glad to see you are on the right side of the dirt. ;-)

Supposed to have some nasty weather roll in today. 5-7 inches of snow and high winds. I heard that and my first thought: " do I have enough cigarettes for 3 or 4 days ?" Then I remembered I don't smoke any more ! Talk about something sinking in....WOW!!! First, it was how nice it was to know I shouldn't have to get out in that mess. 2nd was how cigarettes ruled my life for so many years. Last was what a major lifestyle change vaping is and how easy it was. This really made my day. I'm so glad to have found this forum and all you folks.

Life is good.

I know - right? I've had a couple of "oh yeah, I don't smoke anymore" moments and they're just sooooo TOTALLY cool!!!! Congrats on your first moment!!!!

Most of my batteries are the vision spinners which I really like and it says they are good for about 300 charges before they go belly-up. When I am going out I will often "top them up" prior to leaving... when I do that, am I using up some of my 300 charges (but they're not all the way empty) and shortening their lives??

No not at all.. it is more of a function of how much they are used/discharged then recharged. Theoretically if you got 300 full charges on a battery you would get 600 half charges on it. There are a lot of old wives tales about batteries that used to be true for older batteries but dont apply to modern lithium ion types.

Phew.. thanks, I thought I might be driving the poor things to an early grave. And since I bought them all at once, they'd probably all die on the same day and I'd be stuck up the gumpstum without a battery!

the one problem with lithium ion is that their lifecycle begins on the date of manufacture not the date of purchase. If these were sitting in a warehouse for 2 years before you bought them they wouldnt last as long as if they were factory fresh. Its all relative and its not like they just quit working...they get to the point where you drain they really quickly then you have go buy some more. You are already taking spares with you. :)

Welcome to all the new arrivals on the 'porch'...best place for info and help that I have found, a truly great crowd to be associated with. :toast:

When I leave the house (even for a quick trip to the P.O.) it's with both my Vamos and the Zmax mini and sometimes an eGo 11 or 1300 all with ProTanks or an Aspire ET-S with different flavors. Not so much as to the fear of a battery dieing, but I just never know what flavor is going to strike my fancy at any given time. Funny how when smoking we always wanted that same old stinky flavor. (at least most of us, I'm thinking)

Normally, when my batteries drop to about 3.7v it's recharge time and generally, they get replaced after a year of use. HomeDepot takes them for disposal...convenient. :)

As far as, "is vaping healthier than smoking tobacco"...I'll go for the POSSIBILITY of one Carcinogen over 4000+, I don't need a scientific report or 50 years of evidence... I got that one figured out on my own. YMMV. Besides, I know how much better I feel after quitting the stinkies. The FDA gets a HUGE Amount of their funding from BP and BT. Anything that interferes with their market portion is going to be a problem to them...if the FDA turns their back on them, don't doubt there will be repercussions.

Rebuilding coils...takes a bit of time to figure out what works best for each individual topper. What works best for you man not be my COT, but it is well worth the time and effort to figure it out. IMHO A good magnifying glass with a light is essential equipment for me, even though I have 20/20 vision with my contacts (according to my Optometrist).

The newest bright shinny object...always looking for better. Shinier, not so much, but always on the hunt for better flavor delivery. If you like fine wine, you know there is no end. I lived 12 miles from the Napa Valley (Ca) and did a bit of wine tasting, but my budget was no more than $25 per bottle...my budget for new shinny things is comparable, but higher than my wine budget.

First off, huge welcome to our new porch mates! It's great to see da 'interested' influx.

Which leads me to wonder if our thread 'restart' enticed our recent 'residents' or it's just happenstance/timing? Did da large posts count/numbers scarce folk off? Or are folk up yonder just being impelled by cabin fever? "Enquiring minds want to know"...

When you-all leave your house, what do you take with you?

Local, three APVs/flavs; four if on a road trip. I keep backup batts and a charger in my ride.
