Is there room for one more chair on the new porch?

Mostly a lurker on ECF. Vaping since last July 4th and as of now no "analogs" for 4 months ( I really should have taken note of when).
Smoked a PAD for 35 years. I've been lucky in that I haven't been biten by the "Oooooh a shiney! afliction. Currently using a K101 Mech mod with a Magoo or an RSST or a clone RDA. I swap units for flavor/technique changes. Still carry my starter with a BCC tank - it has some Halo Tribecca that I taste a couple times a day.

You may now resume your regular programming while I answer the rotary phone. <grin>

Welcome to the porch Zelly. So happy to have you visit or maybe you will love us so much, you can start calling this home. You should use July 4th as your stop smoking date. Well, it is Independence Day. That definitely applies to giving up ciggies. You've done a great job. Sure wish I had your will power when it comes to "oh so shiney affliction'. I like that one. :)

I'm 60 and quit several times. 4 months in the 70s, couple weeks here and there, couple of months after the patch. 6 months a few years ago with vaping but gave up on vape after a while. I think I might have to stick with vape this time. Safe or not it has to be better than smoking and failing.

Welcome Paul. So glad you have joined us and that you keep on trying. Since you have tried vaping several times, I'm sure you have seen the improvements in everything. Good luck to you this time and you are 100% correct.....it is better than smoking. :) Glad to have you.

All this coil talk and ECF really has me interested. I am going to the local B&M today for a workshop on RBA. What is a good Igo or Phoenix RDA for a noob to start with? How easy it is to swap juice on a RDA? I know they will recommend stuff at the shop but I like to have a little knowledge beforehand.

Glad to have you here. I am very new too but I started out on a igo-L and have been quite pleased with how easy they are to rebuild. YouTube is definitely a good source. I find it so much easier to do something if I watch it. But I am very confident that if I can do it..... you will have no problem at all. One good thing is if you do have a questions........there is alway help here just a post away. Good luck to you and let us know how you like the class. I am waiting and waiting and waiting for a Eternity from FT. Their videos look super duper easy. Check it out.

I'm starting to think that I'm going to have no choice but to really get into rebuilding.

First, there's the CE5s I bought. I've only seen replacement coils at Health Cabin (very expensive shipping) or at Vapor Cigzz (at $3/coil). Can you even rebuild CE5 heads? They're only $6 for 5 coils at Health Cabin. But, the shipping is $16. Or, I can wait for a coop and hope they have them in stock at that exact time and still have to pay $7 shipping. This is getting old.

Then, there's the Vivi Nova. I had bought some and was really starting to like them. But, the most recent ones I had bought taste terrible. It seems I need to just rebuild them myself to get better flavor.

I like carto-tanks or dripping (especially with a 306). But, I want something slim to put on my ego batteries that won't get me so many funny looks when I'm out in public. And, I'ld rather not have to drip in public. I guess I could just get some slim carto-tanks and forget the clearomizers.

I'm just really frustrated. There are new things out every day. But, they drop the spare coils for the old things, and you can't get them anymore. What's the point of having replaceable coils if they don't continue selling the replacement coils? I'm very slow to get used to something new. By the time I start to get used to it, it's no longer available!!!!!

The only atty I've built a coil for so far is an Igo-L. Aren't the clearomizers harder since they're so tiny? And, CAN you even rebuild a CE5 head?

Where's the hammer?!

Are those the same thing as the CE5+. I saw some YouTube's on rebuilding those. I have been rebuilding my ProTanks and eVOD's and they are super easy to do. I'm sorry you sound like you are just having one of those days that we all have sometimes. I am sure someone that knows a lot more than me will be able to help you.

Is this what they look like? $5.74 CE5 / CE6 / CE7 / Vivi Nova Atomizer Coil Head (5-Pack) 5-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping If it is, it looks like a decent price since it is free shipping. Looking at them, I think they can probably be rebuilt but someone else will know for sure.

I may not have been a lot of help but I care bunches and hate to see anyone frustrated. Do you like eVOD's? I have some spare (new) and will gladly mail you one to try. I like them. Just let me know if I can help any.

Yes, I think they're called CE5+ V3 or something like that. I was just looking at those exact coils on FT. I was wondering if they'ld fit my CE5s.

Thanks for the offer of the EVODS. But, I already have 2. I've packed them away for the time being to experiment with again later. They worked, but not particularly well. I've been avoiding buying any more bottom-coils until I can figure out what I'm doing wrong with the EVODs.

I'm just weird. Things that work for other people don't always work for me. I'm a little slow to learn how to make adjustments to make things work, I guess. I'm very easily frustrated and usually end up doing the exact opposite of whatever I should do to make something work right!

I'm one of those people who can program a computer, but not necessarily operate it very well. I'm very good with theory and very bad with reality.

Hi folks, got room for one more on the porch? I'm not picky, a seat on the steps is fine with me. I've been reading through some of the posts here and I think ya'll are my kinda people. A little about me; I'm a fifty something housewife, been married 31 years to a wonderful 'ol fart who can still make me laugh at least once a day. I smoked for 38 years before starting vaping about 5 months ago. I've learned everything I know from PBusardo and the folks here at ECF. (Wish I would've found this place first, lol.) I don't personally know anyone else who vapes and the local vape shop is full of those young whippersnappers who are more interested in creating a storm front with vape clouds than getting the best flavor from their juice. I felt like Rodney Dangerfield in there, * no respect* lol. Anyhoo, I'd love to sit and "chew the juice" if ya'all will have me.:)

Welcome Kim B, always room for one more. You don't have to sit on the steps. There is plenty of room. Congrats on the vaping 5 months and for having a hubby that still makes you laugh. Sure does make life wonderful. I'm referring more to the vaping. bahahahaha Been married 30 years myself. Glad to meet you and welcome to the porch.:)

Thanks for the warm welcome Rat2chat2, I appreciate it. Yeah, hubby is a great guy but let's face it, there's no way I could've quit smoking cold turkey, no matter how hilarious he thinks he is. Without my vape he would've kidded himself right into the local boneyard after about 3 days with me and no nicotine.....

columbus, oh
Rebuild class was really good. I had 20 years on everyone there and had to break out reading glasses to see the holes in the posts. Lol. Everyone was cool and I didn't feel out of place

Covered battery safety and ohms law. Rebuilt several different types of atty. free pizza. I bought a Phoenix V10, silica wick, and a roll of kanthal wire before the class and built it during the class. Out the door with new RDA, supplies, knowledge, and dinner for less than $20. ALTSMOKE Columbus is a great shop!
