I ordered two of the "dead" dna 30 clone boxes from elev8. They shipped them the same day as I ordered them. Still haven't seen them yet and it's been a week. Oh, and I had them shipped priority mail. According to tracking they went in the post office in Brooklyn, NY on Oct. 20th and were scheduled for delivery on the 22nd. That was the last I heard of them till yesterday. Yesterday the USPS site said they had arrived in Beth Page, NY. 4 days from Brooklyn to Bethpage. Jeez! and that's priority mail. They left Bethpage this morning. Site still says they are scheduled for delivery on Wednesday, October 22. That would be a neat trick!

This fine print is a not so subtle reminder to always read the fine print before signing anything.

I order mine on the 22nd and got notice a shipping label was printed. Tracking shows it accepted at the Brooklyn sorting center on the 25th and departed the sort center on the 25th. Mine's shipping 1st class mail. I wonder if mine will beat yours 'to the door'.

Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself and stop by to say hello. My name is Ginger and I smoked for about 47 years. Although I was a light smoker (3 - 4 a day) I knew it was time to give it up. Although I've had a puff or two along the way, haven't really had a cigarettes for 1 year come December. vaping is just great!
Would love to join you Vapers on the Front Porch....anyone from New Jersey by the way?

Hello and welcome to the porch ginger. Way to go - 1 year away from smoking :toast:

Yikes, 3 to 4 a day. I smoked that many before I made it out of the bedroom in the morning. Yeah, I was pushing close to 3PPD when I quit 3 years ago. You've got that right - vaping is great!

Great Thread. Smoked about 3/4 a pack a day for about 17 years. When I was younger I had quite a few lung issues and was told it wouldn't be a wise idea to ever smoke. Didn't listen to this advice though, and began smoking in my later teens. I even quite 2 times during that period, once for 2 months during basic training and once for over a year. Both times stress led me back to cigs. The last few years were getting rough as I began to see why I shouldn't have ever of started smoking. I have been around allot of smokers who smoked much longer than me, were much older than me, but didn't have as bad a smokers cough and wheezing issues as I was experiencing. Then one day I got a coupon for a free vuse and right then and there I decided it was time. The vuse sucked, btw. Its only been 27 days but I no longer have a constant cough and don't wake up coughing up brown crap, I also don't go to bed wheezing and hacking anymore. For anyone considering quitting they should at least give vaping a try, it has been a great experience for me thus far.

And another welcome goes out to you too, satkizzle. Glad to have you join us. And it's nice to hear how fast you're starting to feel better. That's surely positive re-enforcement that you're on the right path now. So what did you move to after the yucky vuse (which I never heard of, I guess that a little stick cig-a-like).

Welcome, Ginger. What device do you vape with? I grew up in NJ (Metuchen).

Would you buy say some nic then some pg/vg then some flavour and add them together , or would you buy some nic mixed with pg/vg then add some flavour ?

What ml of flavour would be good to add to a base make a 30ml bottle ?
Or is that up to the person to tinker around with ?
This would depend on what specific flavor you wanted to use. If you found that a particular flavor was good at 10%, that would be convenient because then you could use 3ml of it to make your 30ml total. Bear in mind that if you're using more than one flavor, you probably want to keep the TOTAL percentage of flavoring the same as if you were using just one flavor.

But with some of the TFA flavors, including all of the tobacco flavors, 10% is likely to be too much. With the TFA Tobacco Absolute flavor, even 1% might be too much.

Welcome. What did you replace the Vuse with?

But I'm using 60mg so the math makes my head spin. There must be a cocktail that could help with that.
I don't know if this will help but I find this method helps keeps my head somewhat in place:

A= total amount of juice, in ml, that you want to make.
B= number of mg/ml of nicotine that you want in the final juice.
C= number of mg/ml of nicotine in your nicotine base.

Multiply A times B, then divide by C. That will yield the number of ml of nicotine base to use.

That works! Thank you. Still like to double check myself with the calculator. I don't trust me at all.

And thanks from me, too. I often take an intuitive approach to math, but having a simple formula helps. As I look forward to calculating the standard deviation of some data I am analyzing. LOL.

Back in the day before computers and even before hand-held calculators, I enjoyed statistics and was pretty comfortable with standard deviations. But my, how quickly that knowledge evaporated once I was out of school and not using it. Right now, I couldn't even offer a valid definition of standard deviation. I'd come back around after a little web research, but it's a case of use it or lose it.

For me it works best to just do a prepared base. Since I like 18-24 mg/ml I mix up a batch at 25 mg so it works with my 1 1/2% to 15% of flavoring. It would be a problem, though, if you wanted to have all your flavors have the exact same nicotine level. It's worth it to me to not have to worry about my butterfingers and high nic levels every time I make some liquid. I only have to be very careful when I make the base.

I think I've had my vaping epiphany - the need to simplify.

...
with all the items you listed.. yeah.. time to find what works for you. :)
