If we can save enough money in time, we're flying out around dawn on October 21st. Why hadn't I thought of putting it in checked luggage?! Oh, I know. We're trying to avoid having to pay $25 for a checked bag. But, if we do check any luggage, that would be perfect.

You can take scissors on the plane? Pointy scissors? Or, just rounded scissors? I heard you aren't allowed to carry a fingernail file, not even the little fingernail clippers that have that miniature little fingernail file built in.

I thought about carrying those plastic green 'needles' from my Billet Box refill kit. But, I need a needle that's thin enough to let air out of the little fill hole in the KF at the same time as juice is going in. I guess I could just top fill then turn upside down and blow out extra gurgliness. I've heard that works ok. Never tried it.

This is what I usually carry in my purse for refilling:
RefillKit.jpg

It's ridiculous that we have to nitpick through every little thing just to get on a plane!
I don't have a problem using the slim tip bottles. They seat at the fill hole, but not in it. Squeeze, release, squeeze, release. No problems with air or anything. I think when I release the squeeze it sucks air out of the KF & into the bottle.

Got a question for the group. When you go to take a vape - how many puffs do you take before you set it back down? How about first thing in the morning?

I seem to do 3 and first thing in the morning 4 or 5. Now I am a tootle puffer so I expect variety depending upon how you vape.
That's about what I do.

Butchered these quotes last night.

Now THAT sounds like a plan! :D

Very cool! We had a few bats that would fly around the lights in Mississippi. They'd swoop around and catch bugs. I always thought it was cool, so I'd usually go out at night and toss meal-worms up into the air for them. I think I had some weird notion that if I fed them, then they'd somehow be my pets... yeah... I was a kid at the time, and the thought of a pet bat was pretty cool. LOL

LOVE the story of whistling back to them while out on your walk, though... I could actually picture myself there with all the squeaks and whistling interruptions!:lol::lol:

Dagnabbit! Now I'm gonna have to try to figure out how to make a vanilla cream pudding recipe, because that sounds AMAZING!!! Smoother and sweeter than custard, no "egginess"... hmmmmmm.....

 This is gonna tweak my brain for a while. Love You!
They can catch the meal worms? I'm going to have to try that. I point a light out the window to attract the moths and the bats swoop by and get them. Sometimes they land on the screen and chase them around but there are so few months this year its scary.
Okay, enough "talk"! You and Tutu just get yer butts up here already!!! We're only about 5 miles from Iditarod HQ and a half hour from Willow, where the "real" start is.

Here! Here!!! Couldn't agree more!

Oh ya, Howdy all!!! :D
Would love to go to the restart! On the bucket list, seriously. Have you ever been to the restart? Have you seen The Great Alone?
What bracket arrows are you talking about? Are you talking about the up arrows next to the quoted posts? They just take you back to the post that was quoted.
Yes, those. Saw a post that had three or four of those (words) in a row. If you're a noob coming on here it would have to be very confusing.

I have on two occasions been told the limit for batts is 4 - 8 depending upon the airline. It is usually on their website. Some even include your cellphone, etc.

Lets see, in my laptop bag are 2 laptops, an iPad and a Camera. In my man 'purse' (yeah I can call it that 'cause it's a Maxpedition model and I know its not a purse) is my cell phone, at least 3 sometimes 4 mods (either inbuilt or replaceable batts installed) and a flashlight w/ an 18650 bat. So that's 8 or 9 right there, not including at least 2 and sometimes 1/2 dozen mod batts in batt cases.

I've never had a problem w/ security scan/checks except the time I forgot to take my Leatherman out of my man purse. Cost me $15 to mail it home.

I am not seeing then today. They were like the left side and bottom of a box with a little arrow pointing toward the upper right.

Woo-Hoo! Only 9 a.m. here! I actually made it before Noon today!!! Mornin' All!!!

Skull and Crossbones. Didn't really care for it but it was the only ones that were wide and thick like I wanted.
Can you flip the rings inside out, Legs? Are the insides printed as well?

Would love to go to the restart! On the bucket list, seriously. Have you ever been to the restart?
Oh yes! Definitely! It's a great party with everyone excited to see all the dog teams and mushers, either standing or riding their snow machines around on the lake. Of course there are food and "beverage" vendors too and quite a few "tailgater" set up as well.
Have you seen The Great Alone?
Since I'm not familiar with that term I'd have to say no, I haven't seen "The Great Alone". Is that a movie? Oh, hey, speaking of Alaska related movies, "Into The Wild" has a scene about "The Magic Bus". It's real and is about 15 miles off of the beaten path near Mt. McKinley. It turns out a tourist from Mexico decided he wanted to hike out and see if he could find it. The park rangers told him that he was not allowing himself enough time to get there and back but he headed out anyway and after two days, his friends reported him missing. They found him alive and well last night so that's a good thing. The bad thing was that it was SNOWING lightly already, up there!!!

Hahaha! If I could get away, I'd already be on my way up, Brother! Things are a little hectic around here with life and work right now. Just found out yesterday that I have to start learning my supervisor's job... there's a very good chance that I'm going to be doing that job pretty soon.
I know what you mean. If it's not one thing it's another. It never seems to end, does it? Congratulations on the apparent upcoming promotion too!!! Good for you, brother! You deserve good things!!!

I can say, with absolute certainty, that those little boxes are more accurate for reading milli-ohms than my Fluke is, by a large margin.
Wow! That IS impressive! I would have thought Flukes would be the gold standard.

I'd have to go with Gary on this one, although I do start at lower watts in the a.m. After that, it's pretty much glued to my paw all day except to pour coffee and cook delicious things. ;) :D

I can't think of an example of the "bracketed arrows" but I noticed them yesterday too. I think they're appearing when you inckude "key words". Let's see.... vaping

Well 'retired' said in another thread he mentioned that little box/arrow thingy to the people upstairs as a number of folks reported it being a nuisance. Looks like the admins shut it down.

The Great Alone is a movie, documentary, about Lance Mackey. Three main themes are his love for his dogs, struggle with his father leaving and surviving throat cancer and its aftermath. Not sure if he still smokes but would love to nail him to a wall and explain vaping to him if he is still smoking.

Nope, vaping didn't work, in fact it's not even red??? source, tank, monkey ...............

I think they're working on the site because I'm having some odd random problems posting.

Seems to have been a link.

That's close enough, very similar, at least it wan't red in the text.

It's being reworked as it was a wee bit too enthusiastic about adding keywords.

It's so much easier to catch up by waiting until you all have gone to bed and don't talk back until the morning.

Don't think I've seen those.

Make up your mind! :grr:

On Korean airlines they limit the total amps/mah (something like that) that you can carry in any form and they mention not to exceed quantities of lithium batts beyond laptops etc. Philippine airlines limits the number of each type of item you can carry. Same with a couple of others - all international flights...

"Allepo? Right, right, got it."
Sorry, I couldn't resist. I actually do "got it" now. I haven't seen that film. He actually lives not far from us and I don't believe he smokes cigs any more. They have been a "colorful" and controversial family for a long time up here but I personally feel that that "color" is the real Alaska that is fading so rapidly. Most of us "old timers" call Anchorage "Los Anchorage" now. :(
