Kaez, best wishes for your Mother!

Thank you! She told me not to worry, but she's my Mama... I'm gonna worry about her, just like she worries about me.

He was too busy with the kids to talk with me much. I'll be back to educate him. He has a 4-bay LUC charger for a reasonable price, although my two -bay is good enough.

Advertising pays most of the cost of keeping the board running.

Thank you, 3mg! We're just hoping that the test results come back better than we hope.

Prayers and best wishes Kaz.

Much appreciated, Mike! She's been through a lot of tough times... I'm sure she'll get through this, too.

Just a little more of the story:
I spoke with her on the phone last night. She sounded good, just tired and she wants to go home. They finally let her eat yesterday. She hadn't eaten since Sunday night, because they wanted her fasting for blood work on Monday morning. Then they admitted her and didn't let her eat anything until Tuesday afternoon. :grr: Fortunately, my sisters went to the hospital (most of my family lives in Missouri) and the older of the two raised hell until they brought Mama something to eat. Mama is only 62, and is very capable of taking care of herself, but she doesn't stand up for herself. She's an extremely kind and giving woman, and isn't ever one to rock the boat... even when it's in her best interest.
They were supposed to do an echocardiogram yesterday, but I guess the doctor decided to skip that and scheduled an angiogram for today. *Just got texts from Mama and Sister - they're about to take her in for angiogram right now*

So glad that you finally got the opportunity to visit the shop and check it out. Kudos to them for working around the laws to build something that works to help people find a healthier choice!

I had to chuckle at the Provari story... I've run into that on several occasions over the years. I literally had one shop guy try to grab one of my mechs out of my hand, because he hadn't ever seen one before. That guy almost pulled back a stump of an arm... I'm protective of my mods. ;)[emoji38]

Absolutely! I'm pretty sure that I've shared those before... I've dropped them around various threads around here, but since Deb wanted the Ambrosia recipe again, and Diver wanted the Aphrodite's Kiss, I figured I'd just share the others, too. :)

Hahahahahaha! Yeah, but I tried to hide it within a post that was also vape related... :sneaky:
I'll remember to update here, from now on, also. :) I keep forgetting that there are quite a few that don't cross porches. Right now, we're just playing the waiting game. So, whenever insurance gets offa their butts and lets us have the meds, she can start the trial.

Right now, I'm worried about my Mama. :( She's been in the ER for two days now. They're running tests to find out what's wrong with her heart (I say it's too big! ). They're supposed to do an angiogram today, and hopefully get things sorted out soon so that she can go home. :( All she was doing was getting the work-ups done so that she could get sinus surgery to fix it so that she could breathe again. The EKG showed some anomaly with her heart, so they postponed the surgery and told her to go see her regular doctor. He then sent her to the ER to get fully checked out because the EKG showed that she'd had a heart attack at some point in the past... we still don't have any answers, and she still can't breathe through her nose.
Prayers, Kazz!

Prayers, Kazz!

Thank you, Kenna! I was fine last night, but finding out that they may have to put in a stint... I'm freakin' out a bit right now. It's killing me that I can't be there for her...

If that's all that's needed, it's a pretty quick and easy fix. (Usually) And generally with near immediate improvement. My Dad (94) had two installed early this year.

Kaez- I spent 30 years working in a hospital, and there is NOTHING tougher than a little old lady! They are tougher than boiled owl, an old boot and nails combined. I hope she gets straightened out quick.

I don't doubt it, Bolivar. Mama had brain surgery several years ago to remove a tumor of some sort... I never was able to get the full story on that one. She was a stay-at-home-mom throughout my childhood, with four kids, and we grew up out in the country. I think she's helped me skin more bucks than dad has! I know that there really isn't any reason for me to worry, but that doesn't stop it from happening. Thanks for the laugh, though! Loved that description!

Thanks, David. I really don't know all that much about the procedure. I mean, I know what it is, but that's about it. Apparently, they think that she may have had a heart attack (we think about six months ago, because she had told my sister that her chest was hurting a little bit), but she never went to the doctor for it. It appears that is fairly common for women. They are tougher than us guys, and can just roll through a heart attack without really even noticing...
Thank you for the prayers, and for helping to alleviate some of my fears... I appreciate it. :)

I'm a bit weird (no comments, please :)): I love the smell of a good cigar. DH smokes cigars. Our evening ritual is cocktails, vape/cigar on the screen porch, while catching up on the day.

When I was a boy, I had a paper route. It included the oldest tobacco shop (continuous) in America. I would walk in there and it was heaven. A bunch of old farts sitting around. (sigh)

Loved the smells though.

Still there!!

Reading in the 2nd paragraph, it says that Demuth was lame and a homosexual. Yep, that's Lancaster for you.

When I was in El Salvador in the 80's, I got the Lancaster paper via the Embassy. They were a month old, but I read that a "porn" shop opened on S. Water Street (alley). In the first week, the Police raided it and the owner was through the court system in 10 days. He got 6 years.

A lot of history there, but I haven't been back in a long time. People are people, I suppose.

Right now, I'm worried about my Mama. :(

Kaez, now we are also! Do hope there is a suitable and relatively easy fix.

A stint would be a minor procedure compared to other possibilities. As DavidO said, almost immediate improvement.

Hugs and prayers out to you and yours!!!

Thanks, Iffy! I'll update as I hear more!

David was kind enough to explain it a little better for me in PM, and I feel quite a bit better about it now. I guess that basically they'll just do it along with the angiogram, if it is needed... so the procedure isn't really any worse than the angiogram is. And, if she gets lucky, one of the docs there does the angio through the arm, instead of through the leg... he says it's a bit easier on recovery.

The hugs and prayers are much appreciated!

Yep that is what Mama's do and that is what son's are supposed to do. Prayers sent...

Thanks, Semi! I definitely worry about her... though, if she survived my childhood, she can survive anything! I can't imagine all the stress and worry that I've put her through over the years...

@Kaezziel , a prayer sent aloft.

Thanks, Frenchy! Very much appreciated, and we'll take all we can get! :)

Kaez, prayers and healing thoughts for your Mom!
The biggest pita in an angiogram is having to lay flat on your back for 6 hours after. I had one, 100% blocked & had been for awhile, so no stent. They didn't do a bypass. I had zero symptoms, even tho it was a Subclavian artery. Seems I have a God given bypass! It's called Subclavian Steal Syndrome. A tiny little vein took over the job of the artery & delivers blood where it should go by stealing it from someplace else. I have an appt with my PC to investigate the issue with my lack of stickable veins on my right side. They can't use the left side because that's where the blockage is. Your Mom will be fine, prolly irritated, but otherwise...

Wow! Thanks, Kenna... that is very interesting! I had no idea that the body could divert the blood flow like that (I understand that it doesn't, normally). I had to laugh at "prolly irritated"... more like definitely! She was already irritated last night! Even after they let her eat somethin'... :p
