Yeah I have 1 authentic and 5 Tobeccos. With the authentic you really don't need to worry about stray metal. The Tobeccos's are nearly exact copies but I notice my authentic uses more juice, why I have no idea. One thing I like better about the Tobecco is the markings are in black making them easier to see. I do like the 200 board better then the 75 but one of the 75's is a dual battery and it works just as well. I too am using the SE curve for SS316L which works great. Using the utility to check how your atty is working with the 200's it is almost perfect the 75's waver a little but fine for me. The reason I use the power I do is when running the utility I noticed that once the coil is hot it was only using between 10-12w so I just toned it down to 20w and the 30w punch puts it to temp almost immediately. I have found out that if you get a little juice seeping out the bottom it is almost always one of the top 2 Orings on the coil head. I just got a bunch of them from the Oring store, cost about 1/10th of buying the svoe mesto ones. I have heard of wicking the way you are talking but I find these to be the easiest atty to wick there is. I also have several Kanger STM's which I like very much but they don't have quite the flavor of the KF's. I take it you are using the 200's? They did come out with a FW update for those which escribe will tell you about when you run it. Took a few of the quirks out but the latest escribe is great. I have a 133 also which works just as well as the 200 I guess because it is the same board. It took me a little while to get that one set up but a guy helped me out that had done all the testing on his and gave me all the numbers to plug in to the manufacturers setting and I used a battery curve from a German website for the LG HG2's Ecigar really didn't do anything as far as setup, the manufacturers settings were the stock ones that came with the board which were way off. I would like to maybe get one mor dna that is the Therion 133 but they are pretty scarce and the price is more then I can get a Triade for which I also like a lot. Probably my favorite.
Yeah I have one VS 250, one 133 and a few 75's, but I use the 75's the most. 2 of them are c-frames that I custom made for myself and gf, they have a wood housing and use sleeves from old zero's that we had laying around. With the kayfun I was mostly using the 75's. My beater mod for out of the house is a VS 75. I'd like to, but I haven't ventured out into using a different board bc I spent so long tweaking profiles and TFR curves, and I have them all saved.
If you're using a 3mm coil are you trimming the tail's thickness at all, before cutting and putting them in place. Just wondering if there's too much cotton in the juice well.
Yeah, what I was doing was basically cutting the edges/corners at an angle, so from the top before it's tucked in it kind of looked like half of a screwed up octagon... kinda.

Is 3mm too big? That's what I've used in every other cotton atty up to now.

@kiba, I use 3mm SS316L coils in nearly everything - including K5's. I wick with cotton bacon. I do trim the tails a bit, so that the shoulders are wider. And, as both Mike and 2legs said, I gently fold the cotton so it doesn't get at all compacted.

Welcome to the Porches!

Yeah, that's how I had it, I don't get it I haven't had any success at all with this atty, which is strange bc the taifun gt 3 is so similar but the same build works fine on that one... I don't get the same flavor as from the rose but it's much simpler to rebuild.

I considered the kayfun to be an upgraded version of the taifun 3, even ordered 3 right off the bat but I never got it going.

Jup, thought of you when I saw it and that's why I chose that one.

Legs, not criticizing, but paragraph breaks are a good thing for some people. My glasses are so bad at this point it gets difficult to follow along through even a small wall of text. It would be appreciated, I like reading your stuff/vaping adventures.

There might no be a hurry in my case though. It's looking like our place might look like your winter wonderland by tomorrow morning which means we likely won't have power to log in tomorrow. Oh yay, snow (with a base of freezing rain) day. :(

We are a friendly bunch, we like new victims, er, porchers :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: We are good at helping ya spend your money, but we are really a caring, sharing group of experienced people.

We do excel at spending other people's money. :) But we're not clones, we all have differences in what we use and how we vape, and what we've found and learned. (That wasn't lecturing at you @clnire, it was explaining to kiba.)

@kiba we're a diverse group with varied preferences. There's always someone that can answer oddball questions or give advice, not to mention a bunch that can give very detailed advice. The breadth of knowledge here is pretty staggering, unless you're looking to enter a cloud blowing contest. Welcome to our little corner of the world kiba. :thumb:

Didn't take it as a lecture, you are very correct! Being different is part of what makes this such a great group. There is no "my way is best", we accept and don't judge (just keep politics away!!).

Truth to tell, it took me a bit of time to get the K5 working to my satisfaction. I watched Qorax's vid several times, and spoke to Bronze about it (both of whom are easily found on the K5 thread). The one thing I do differently than Mike, 2Legs and Qorax is I open the juice control 2 full turns. 1 1/2 turns resulted in less than stellar wicking - even for 50/50 juice. Have you tried that?

I should also say, in fairness, that I squonk far more than use a K5, and don't use TC.

Just noticed your location in your avatar... :). Do you ever go to B&M's? Wondering if we've run across one another.

I wouldn't think so, and LB even said 3mm is working for her. I only heard a couple of people switch from 3mm to 2.5mm because they said they got better air flow ... they weren't changing because of wicking problems.

I open the air 2 - 2 1/4 turns. My mixes are approimately 50/50.

Even thou I don't post on here often I just wanted to say thank you all for all you do for vapers by sharing your knowledge and your life stories. I find you are the best people very caring and helpful. Something I've notice is the threads I read the most have a lot of the same people in them and I think they are the best threads on ECF even when people disagree on here no one seems to stay mad long and everyone is quick to apologize and forgive. Just know that each and everyone of you are in my heart and prayers everyday.

I mostly diy, I'm somewhat sensitive to pg but I guess I could try a 60/40 mix. I also had opened it up as many turns as I could do without the tank coming off.

Theres a b&m near me that I go to sometimes, when I run out of kgd pads to pick up some cotton bacon, I think it's called vape nova. I live near ft. belvoir.

I vape 30/70, for the most part. That's what I mix...

Vape NoVA is my go to shop. I love those folks! Aaron, especially, has helped me so much. Wow. Small world.

@kiba, have you ever given rayon (100% cellucotton) a try? I've been using it for over a year now. I try all the new "designed for vaping" cottons because I'm an open minded kinda guy but always end up going back to cellucotton. I won't win any cloud chasing contests with it but the flavor is cleaner than any other organic wicking product I've tried. May be the flavor is so good because it wicks juice so fast and consistently.
