I picked up a Coppervape Skyline after a nudge/prompt from this very thread. It's a really nice vape. I was kind of surprised, tbh, because I expected the airflow might blow me away. But no - it dials down very nicely. It's also easy for a noob like me to setup, although I bet that's just beginner's luck.

I have a funny feeling this thread's nearly as risky as the shiny one - I've only just noticed I don't have a backup!
I suggest you

Yepper ... they indicated (or at least it seemed that way) that they would replace it if I provided a youtube video link of the problem. Also asked to clarify if I had the issue with both of the ones I ordered or just one. I figure I'll lay out the atty and the rubber grippers and the pliers with rubber protectors on the table and video the whole scene and narrate I tried all this 'things' to get it off and couldn't budge it. May even have Janet video me actually trying to unscrew it (not sure if I'll take it that far). Sheesh!

I'd even take a credit instead of a replacement, I'd just use the credit to order another one. I waited a month for these to show up ... what's another month (he, he).
Do it. And be very dramatic!

Have you had any time to build the other one?

No ... what with my 'life event' I posted about in the other thread ... I've not been motivated.

I got minimally motivated and did a 2 minute vid this morning. Can't say I was that dramatic, but I did narrate all the methods I attempted to get it off and show the tools and rubber thingies I used, etc. That's uploaded to youtube and the link passed along with the ticket. Balls back in their court.

Nah ... I wouldn't put Noalox on any threads that 'come close to my juice'.

Oh, I thought we were just talking about getting it apart. Then I would wash it after gently sanding the rough spots out.

WTH! ... after uploading a video to FT, this is the response I got.

    "Thank you for your video.

For one item sku 7935300, could you please kindly check with your local shop whether they can fix this problem for you or not and how much it will cost so we can make the partial refund for you if acceptable in this case?"

I'm supposed to take 2 hours of my time (30-40 minute 1 way drive, plus time at the shop) to a shop and have them work on a defective product from another vendor. This is nuts with a capital 'N'.

    whats wrong with it

Here's my original post on the problem.

oh Poop! I placed a Fastech order Oct. 31 for 2x Coppervape Style RTA, some spare tanks, and extra air flow inserts. Finally the order arrived today, 4 weeks on the nose since I ordered and it showed in stock when I placed the order.

But, one of the RTA's is defective. The top ring to take it apart will only turn a fraction of a millimeter left/right and I can hear and feel the threads binding. Must be some machining residue left over jamming the threads.

The other one's top rings spins on and off just fine. I tried carefully with tools after wrapping the ring with 'protecting' but even that won't do. I'm sure I could force it apart if I gripped it with vice grips but then I'd just damage the outside surface.

Oh well, opened a ticket w/ FT to get a replacement. This was the 1st order I made for vape stuff in a very long time from any vendor. Was kind of looking forward to it and now ... disappointment ... at least I have one to play with tomorrow.

Tell them you did, and the shop can't get it open either? I don't suppose they have inspectors in your neck of the woods... ;)

Oh go on - video your visit to the shop! Capturing the heightened bafflement / laughter would almost be worth it. :D

Yep, their service for defective items has gone down the tube...

I was never impressed with FT CS! Although I do like their prices for some items.

I had a similar experience with a Chinese company (not FT). I just kept requesting what I wanted instead of what they wanted me to do. After about 3 requests, they said OK and shipped me a new one, for free. Didn't even have to ship the busted one back. Polite and firm worked on them.

Success! Let the wait begin again. I told FT the local vape shop couldn't get it apart either. FT's response to that:

"If we resend one item sku 7935300 and check the quality before shipping, do you agree?"

errr, umm ... yep I agreed.
