For emergency vapin' chargin' purposes, get a deep or deep/starting cycle 12 VDC battery with appropriate vaping charging cables/adapters (which many, if not most vaping folk already have). I have several batt chargers that are both DC & AC capable. Don't ferget da 12VDC batt in your vehicles!... and daughters!
BigGrin-1.gif
I have one of those box thingys that you plug in your cig lighter - ironic isn't it? - and it has a regular wall plug doodad at the other end. If I need to I can plug the charger that way. Yay! I have lots of bats but I kept worrying about days with out electricity and I cant use the power packs to charge the charger. Then I remembered this thing. :)

OK Reonauts, I have read that the Reo Grand uses a button top 18650. If so, where can I get them? I went to 4 different B&Ms and no one has them. I found some at batteries Plus and was told that the circuitry would not allow them to work in an eCig. They said they would blow-up if used in an eCig.

I use flat tops in mine too with no problem. The LG tootsie rolls (brown ones, H2? H4? Whatever the brown ones are).

Been a long day of driving, on our way from Lexington, KY to North Branch, NJ. But tomorrow I get to get together with my distant, sister from another mother, BFE (best friend ever) friend who lives near Allentown PA for lunch. The highlight of this whole trip!

My "liker" (liking posts I have read) has not worked most of the day driving through mountains, but so good to hear @LittleBird is OK! Looks like the storm is not going to ruin our Jersey show, which is a good thing.

Well how many do you need. I still have I think 5 that have never been used. AW 2000mah I think from RTD Vapor I might part with. The only thing I used them in were my Provari 2.5 which also require button top 18650's but these haven't even been unwrapped yet. You can also get them from RTD it's usually the only place I get batteries.

Thanks, I will let you know. I am hopeful that I can use flattops as many of those on here have posted.

Now I am not an REO user, but from what I know they IMR batts - I am not sure if flat top or button top makes a difference beyond the IMR requirement.

I used flat tops in my Woodvil, but it's ok in them. I'd forgotten about Reos

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! This is an official Steroid Alert effective this Thursday thru Monday! Please prepare your emergency Shut Up Kenna's for deployment without warning!
Oh hell, my computer crashed and I lost pages of quotes.

@garyoa1, I  ya but don't even want my vape mail in the air when you are flying. Please advise when you do so. :(

Kenna, you did well last time, at least on this porch, very sorry you have to go through that but whatever helps, I get it. Take care and hang in there.

Can't believe I lost all those quotes but it's par for the course today, a horrible day when all that can go wrong does. There were a couple of cool things that happened but what's vaping related is that I busted my first tank. Kind of a slo-mo thing. Knocked it off a counter onto a hard floor. I saw the top side of the tank hit the floor and thought the tip was toast. It was fine. The center post was knocked (permanently) sideways. Glass if fine (go figure), top and bottom seem to be fine, center post is a bit skewed. Probably karma what for I might have subjected @amoret to. I will make it up to her.

Oh! @LittleBird, so glad you made it through okay! Being without electricity really sucks. No news, no weather, no communication, water, heat/AC, etc. We'd go through it for days in the past. Been pretty good for the past several years. This year we are going to pay dearly for our good fortune of late with all the dead trees coming down, others already are locally. Time to get another battery backup.

Hahahaha! Nah... I'm a short l'il dude. I got my mom's height and my grandpa's build... like a twig. But, like grandpa always said, "It ain't the size of the dog in the fight; it's the size of the fight in the dog." ;)

That's been my experience, as well. Not peppery at all. I think it's a little pricier than a lot of other places, but the convenience is worth it to me... and it's rare that I don't qualify for free shipping. ;)

We need to get you an inverter that you can plug into the car? I have one that I bought years ago. You plug it into the car's cigarette lighter socket, and it gives you 120AC. You can use it to power or charge anything that you would plug into a wall outlet. Within reason... it's not powerful enough to run a hair dryer or a toaster, but perfect for a laptop, battery charger, or portable TV for checking storm status. :)
I describe my husband as looking like a Chihuahua on steroids with glasses. Belive it or not, it has worked many times in locating him in a store or wherever. :)

Jup, I'm a dedicated WL customer but in awe that you qualify for free shipping so often. I've only once or twice. :(
Sure, but lots of people still use UPS, which should be pronounced Oops.
No kidding. They are happy to accept your package even though they refuse to deliver to PO Boxes. It would be easy to filter but they don't bother. Lasr UPS order the dog was in his kennel, completely (and obviously) fenced in at the beech tossed the box onto the porch. Most of the drivers are very nice but they do hire a couple of "gems."

Hope you have a wonderful visit with your "sister." She is your sister, trust me. I was adopted and know all about these relationships. Hope you two have a blast.

Good to see ya visit again! Doing well here. How 'bout you and yours?

All's well. Planning a trip back to the Us for a big family reunion at Cape Hatteras. Been a few years since I've been home. Still vaping, and finally not afraid of my vaping equipment. Haven't blown myself up even once.

Good morning, Porchers! I've gotten a couple of emails from Von! He's doing well, kinda taking a little time out from the forums to reconnect with reality and enjoy life a bit. He's been out fishing and enjoying the beautiful landscape in which he lives. He also ran across a little information on a cancer clinic; which he forwarded to me, and I will be sharing with my Bride. :)

I don't think he'd mind my sharing this to bring a little beauty to our world. :)
Alaskan Lake.jpg

@Kaezziel, I have a gizmo (technical term) that can charge an iPad from 0% to full charge, three times. It can also charge a Radius, I suppose. No inverter, though.

@Semiretired, good idea! Lil generator will go on the list. At our primary residence, we have a whole house, hooked up to the gas line, generator. Here, gas is in-ground propane, so no go. Funny -- I could deal with climbing house temps, but the thought of no vaping sent me over the edge!

I recently acquired one of those, also. It was a "free gift" when I renewed my electricity plan with the power company. Pretty nice little gizmo, and even has a built-in solar panel to recharge it. That inverter has been a lifesaver, though. Several years back, we were out of power for a week and a half (due to a hurricane). Between the inverter and the propane camp stove, we fared pretty well. Even showed one of the neighbors how to make coffee on the camp stove... he was going into some pretty serious withdrawals. LOL! He had no idea that you could boil water on a barbeque grill.

@Kaezziel Aren't those great! Love mine!

Yep! As Iffy said, there are more efficient ways to charge a battery, but the inverters sure do make things simple sometimes. ;)

Kaez, my son is shorter than you, but in his fighting days most figured out to leave him alone. He turned into a Tazmanian devil! Even his large half-brother would back down from him (and he isn't very bright). My Mom always told me that diamonds and dynamite comes in small packages.

Hahahaha! Yep, us little guys gotta learn quick. I learned a lot from my grandpa... he was an "old-school-scrapper"! LOL!!

I use flat tops in mine too with no problem. The LG tootsie rolls (brown ones, H2? H4? Whatever the brown ones are).

Y'all be careful out there on the roads! Very happy to hear that you have such a wonderful visit coming up. :)

Hahahahahaha!! That's probably not too far off from describing me, too! Except for the "on steroids" part... I've got a pretty slight build. Worked out well in my younger days, though. We used to go spelunking in various caves and I could get into areas that most of the other guys couldn't access. ;)

Well, I usually only order once or twice a year. I get nic, VG, and quite a few flavors from them... it doesn't take long to hit the $75 free shipping point. ;)

I'm definately not a UPS fan. They have left packages on the porch in the rain without a plastic cover (which they are supposed to do even if its only supposed to rain), they left packages outside the gate by the road - they said the driver was afraid of the dog…we dont have a dog. They delivered our packages to other addresses. They are useless.

For some reason, our dog hates the brown vans. Not sure why, maybe she senses an evil presence. Growls, barks, and if outside chases the driver. Never bit anyone, though. No problem with the FedEx or USPS. Getting vape stuff, I just use USPS.

It has been raining here all night and continues this morning. I heard that some storm is hitting the Mexican coast (Baja California). It happens each summer and we call it the monsoon season, but it is usually done by now. Always good to get rain in the desert. All the snakes come out of their holes.

I guess it is just the season for many.

As can be seen by my adjusted Avatar, USPS is slow.

Stay safe all...

Ooo! Hatteras! Two brothers-in-law have vacation homes, there. It's beautiful! There's a great little cafe about 1/4 mile south of Avon (on Hatteras) that has, bar none, the best apple fritter things on the planet. They make all their own donuts. The line goes out the door, in the morning. You'll be a hit with the family if you pop down and get a few. :)

What good news that you haven't blown yourself up! You've come a long way, Vape?. It seems like just a minute or two ago that you quivering over the prospect of a new setup, and now - just look at you!

Thank you, Deb!
yw hun. But I forgot to mention all thanks goes to Retired, he's the one that gave us that link then a couple days ago, reminded me about it lol

Sep. 30th is my next 'deadline' date. Over in the 40% PA tax thread, reports are trickling in about on-line vendors no longer shipping to PA starting Oct. 1st when the law kicks in. Don't know if this will become wide spread or some vendors are playing it close to the vest.
just horrible!

There he is ... been awhile since we've seen you. Thought maybe you were on a walk-about in the outback. :D
psssttt he's a she :D

Good morning!

Not much to report, except that I missed all y'all. We had no internet in SC until last night: our home in SC was in Hermine's path. I was madly charging batteries while waiting for the storm to unleash, hoping I'd have enough to see me through the storm and its aftermath. Having to ration vaping was not my idea of a good time.

I missed all of the sales - prolly a good thing.

A belated "Welcome!" to @Bea-FL. I loved your signs... :)
Glad you didn't have serious damage, but stinks you were without internet. Seems so odd to think back to the time (not so long ago) when we couldn't even have imagined something like the net......would have seemed space age!

or ice storm clean up :( we lucked out during the last one we had and a huge tree just missed the house. Just the very top if it touched the roof. :)
Jup that's awful too! This is not the same as that, but when I was a Sr in HS, our neighbor had a pipe bust.......she worked in another town during the week and came home on the weekends. She came over just in shock when she got home for the weekend, asked us to come over......... the inside of her house was like an ice palace! a good 6 inches of ice covered walls, floors, furniture, every surface! It was beautiful in a horrible way. Totally shocking.

There are far worse things to run across and have to clean up. Especially when doing a welfare check and finding the occupant has been deceased for a week (and no air conditioning).
Been there done that. He'd been dead at least 2 weeks and likely 3-4 weeks. That is a stench you just can't ever forget!

The extra squonk bottles were shipped but the mod is hung up for a few days.
do you have a link for the squonk bottles you got?

But, like grandpa always said, "It ain't the size of the dog in the fight; it's the size of the fight in the dog." ;)
JUP!!!

There's a trucking company up here called Fluke Trucking. Their company slogan (which is on all their trucks) is: If it's on time, it must be a Fluke.

Brilliant. Positively brilliant.
lol that's cute! Sometimes it's amazing the stoopit things people name businesses. We have a real estate company a couple towns over called Flood Real Estate! Yeah makes me really wanna buy a house from y'all. On the funny side.......we used to have a local jeweler and the name was after the two men who started it........... Boozer and Weaver.

If you go with button top these are the ones Rob recommends AW IMR 18650 3.7v 1600mAh It's not showing the max discharge rating now on there which is odd, but it was always 24 amps. You do NOT want the 2200 mah. A lotta folks tried those and the 1600's were much better. Don't know about the 3000 mah ones, as those are kinda new........within the last year or less. What type of flat tops do you have?
If you vape above an ohm, flat tops are fine in the grands. I use the brown LG HG2s in mine. Now that I'm vaping .5 ohms instead of 1.3 ohms, they're still fine to use, but I get a lot more arc'ing, so have to be really diligent with the Deoxit gold that I have, until I can get some NoOxID which is apparently much better, but not as icky to use as the Noalox.

But tomorrow I get to get together with my distant, sister from another mother, BFE (best friend ever) friend who lives near Allentown PA for lunch. The highlight of this whole trip!
I've always called it a sister from another mister lol Really great that y'all get to visit!! and that the storm won't mess up y'alls show! Still plannin on gettin a purple paracord lead later on after some other things are taken care of. :)

Can't believe I lost all those quotes but it's par for the course today, a horrible day when all that can go wrong does. There were a couple of cool things that happened but what's vaping related is that I busted my first tank.
oh....((((((tutu))))))) sorry you've had such a rough day. Weird all that happened to the tank, but the glass didn't break

I would be very curious as to why. Seems it would be the same, but last longer???
me too. Wish I could remember. They weren't horrible, but the consensus was the 1600s were better. They used to have a 2000 that was the one folks really didn't want. If I recall right, seems they were listed at 10 amps.
