All I can say is that it's also a great mod for power mode. :D

Well that will work for me. I had no interest in TC before. I hadn't been vaping long when Deeming came along and I put my efforts into getting a supply of stuff I already liked. But it seems like a shame to have a TC mod and not try it out. Maybe I'll order a little nickel and SS and see what happens.

Some seem to really like TC, just understand that it's simply a different way to do the same thing.

If you already know how to keep a coil wet, you already know how to control the temperature.
It can be nice for the mod to drop the power down tho' if you forget to keep the coil wet.

I would go Stainless Steel exclusively.

    Better flavor.
    Fast ramp up time.
Can be used in either TC or power mode
You can Dry burn the gunk off the coil. You can't do that with Nickel or Titanium.

If i hadnt prepped almost 600 feet Kanthal it is all i ever use.

A friend on ECF sent me 5 feet stainless and 5 feet Titanium wires.

I'm kinda in the same boat!
Went a bit overboard when the FDA/Njoy thing was going on (2011-12). I think we figured out that I will need to restock when I turn 126 yo.

thanks for all that input. She lives in Burbank CA (concrete jungle) has for 50+ years. The reason she knows it gets worse with vaping is because she quits it for a day or two and it improves. thanks
    gotcha.

So the distilled water...how much would I add for say a 30ml bottle. No flavorings, just VG and 9mg nic.
I mixed her unflavored and I will mix this also but have never added distilled water.
    Thanks
for 30 mls I wouldn't add much. I haven't used it, but have always heard to just add a few drops to start, and a drop at a time after that. Not sure how many drops 5% would be in 30 mls, and don't feel like looking it up, but definitely start low. Way easier to add more than to compensate for having added too much.

BTW... this is my first cold in the 4 years I've been vaping.
Sorry you're sick, hope you feel much better very soon

JUP and welcome (back) to the thread! Seems like you've been here before, but I can't remember for sure.

Allergy eye drops are a godsend. :nun:
JUP! I wouldn't have survived the last 3 months without em. Even with em I feel like I just wanna claw my eyes out at times.

I was just about to cal the doctor for an allery shot when I noticed t a free sample of juice from MBV that I wasn't really interested and put it on my desk. It had "natural and artificial flavors" in it. Had it been food, the law would have required it to be properly labeled. never opened the bottle and it didn't leak. Had I opened it, I may well have died. Putting it in a ziplock and tossing it solved the problem. Still can't believe it.
I'd forgotten about that, but remember it now that you said it again

China is looking a little crazy lately. They want to annex Hawaii and most of the Pacific.

China’s New World Map Claims Hawaii And Most of Micronesia
wow. Tienanmen Square never happened, but they Hawaii, all cuz they say so. :-x

I normally only have allergy issues in Spring or Fall. One year I suddenly started having the eyes, nosen congestion thing in mid summer. Turned out there was smoke blowing in from Mexico from several fires, one, a factory & warehouse that had who knows what in it. It was wrecking havoc with people all the way into Oklahoma. It was horrible in Houston.

Jup, it's horrible when that happens, and it's happened a few times.

Feeling a bit sad. The mod I quit smoking with has died.
:( a moment of silence. I saw you ordered the Pico. If the link someone put up is the same as the one that died, can you just get one or two more of those, or do you not wanna order from China?

(Spent over ten thousand on the car since last fall and it's in the shop for the third time in two weeks again. :grr: )
    oh nooooooo

    Stainless Steel hands down.
I don't use TC, tried it, didn't like it. But all I use now is SS 316L and if anyone is looking for that and gonna get it from Temco.......check out the price on the 250 foot. I was going to get 100 ft each of 26 and 28 awhile back. Happened to notice that 250 feet was just pennies more than 100 feet on one of em, and less than 1.00 more on the other. Haven't checked prices lately so don't know if it's the same. Plus they have free shipping.

    Hugs and Howdys to everyone

With a coil in my Kayfun lasting 3 months i think i have enough wire to last till dooms day.

I stickpiled when i thought coils were only good for a week or two.

Yes i was here very briefly about a year ago but then I was extremely busy teaching Qigong at tge Armory Park senior Center here in Tucson, running myself ragged getting ready for the move.

Bea mentioned me and here i am again.

    I don't like TC either.

thanks Debadoo but too late. Mailed it priority yesterday with 10% distilled water added. Seemed very thin. We shall see. She gets it tomorrow and if it is too thin I will send her some VG

My first TC mod is in the mail, a Pico. What type of wire would you suggest for a first foray into TC?

As others have said, 316L SS is a good option for a first timer to TC. It is however not the most accurate for tc due to its very low tcr value (doesn't change in res much when heated) and lower res but works fine with newer more sensitive chipsets like the Pico.
NiFe 52 alloy is the premier tc vaping wire imo due to its very high tcr and res, both of which help with tc accuracy. It's dry burnable and will run in power mode as well. The only downfall to this wire is availability. Zivipf.eu has it in various common gauges and is referred to as Nife48 by them.

Well, it's much more than that. With a proper TC build and setup the flavor is more consistent, no burny hits, keeps your atty cooler and greatly reduces your chances of inhaling toxic chemicals, like aldehydes.
I won't bore everyone with the technical reasons for those claims.......unless someone asks;)

All of that is done by keeping a proper build WET.

Ok, so show me an atty that keeps a wick saturated to a near perfect moisture level, all the time, and I'm on board.
Thing is, that never happens with any atty no matter what type, how you build it or how you wick it.
I would agree that most RTAs, RDTAs and RDAs perform well enough but they all vary in wick saturation regardless, even during a pull. That leaves the user to compensate with a varied draw effort to keep to coil temp in check. TC mods these days are an order of magnitude better at regulating coil temps than any human on the planet is all I'm saying.
Knowing that I'm safely held below the 470°f threshold where higher temps would produce exponentially higher levels of aldehydes gives me piece of mind too.

For building, SS all the way. I got a BUNCH of Triton Mini Ni200 coils for use in my Nauti and Triton Mini tanks.

@MikeE3 , @Bea-FL , @retired1 , thank you! You guys are fast. Not sure the person that it was for saw it but I've got it bookmarked again. :)

You guys really ought to bring @2legsshrt into the TC/SS conversation. He could go on for pages about. Pretty sure he's tried every combo out there available.

@DancingHeretic - Meant to say congratulations on dodging the tornado. :thumb: I saw it when looking for Gerordi's bag triumph. Glad you are okay.

NJOY is apparently back in business but when you go the site they want your email addy to verify your age. How the heck does that work?

I do sneeze, sometimes several in a row sneezes when I exhale my vape through my nose. Not as much with tobac vapes but some of my other vapes like cola and grape tickle my nose and I can feel the sneeze coming couple minutes before the AAhChoo. I also have a sinus cold and have become a flem factory and the sneezing is a bit worse. I been vape sneezing long before I got a cold.
BTW... this is my first cold in the 4 years I've been vaping.

Meant to tell you I hadn't gotten sick for four years either until I got the Cold From Hell this year. I asked for it though. Husband was sick and absentmindedly drank out of his glass. He did have a cold two other times plus the flu and I didn't get those so still have (very strong) faith that vaping does stave off nasty bugs.

Ain't fun being bug free that long and then getting to acutely remember what's it's like being mortal again is it?

Sorry but you have NO idea of the WiFi i have to put up with. This RV Park has four routers from 8-12 mega bits per second, abd every single one of them has this infuriating habit. Full power one second and GONE the next and wait 3 minutes or more for my Signal to come back.

Fun! We had dialup until about two years ago so I do know what a pain it is with slow internet. Sincere condolences, it's not fun. Have beer on me. :toast:

At least with dial up tge signal didn't up and dissappear for 5-20 minutes. Dial up was just slow.

We moved out into the edge of the next county about 20 years ago and built a nice home away from the hustle and bustle. Down side was no decent internet besides ATT DSL at 6mbps. We went for a long time with ATT internet that would stall and reload just playing YouTube videos.

Finally, the local mom and pop cable system added internet and sold us a slow, but stable 6mbps connection. About 3 years ago they partnered with Cox (who couldn't legally cross the county line) to deliver 16mbps internet through their system and life has been good. We have a 350gb cap and that's enough to watch Netflix for hours a day if we want.

I envy people who get 30+ cable internet!

    Stainless Steel hands down.

I've tried TC with SS316 several times in several mods and it's been finicky with spits and pops and crackling. I'm sure it's a TCR issue, but with various recommended values it's still either a quick temp shutdown or a hot, crackly vape.

I gave up and stayed in power mode, not seeing the benefit of TC. I like the cool trouble-free vape I get from VW. Is it likely that I can vape at a 10W style temp level with TC and enjoy it? I'm not a fan of warm vaping. When I smoked I didn't like a hot-boxed cig, either.
