Thanks for the replies. I found I already had ejuicemeup on my computer, but it needed updating- so I got that taken care of.

I'll probably wait till Wizard or somebody has an end of the year sale, or first of the year sale, or St. Swithen's day sale....something...before I get my stuff. I'm at least going to wait till after Monday, things are just too crazy right now to think with any kind of clarity. We'll have 12 grandkids over here in the next few days, and old grandad is going to need a little Old Grand Dad before all is said and done.

Hi Heretik !

Merry Christmas, and thanks again for the information.
Mike
good to see you, and good luck with the DIY. It's really pretty easy and soooooooo much cheaper. If you plan to get gallons of pg and vg Essential Depot is the place! Especially since you plan to mix about 50/50
Propylene Glycol: Essential Depot

the one gallon of each with free shipping has gone up by just over 20.00 since I got mine a few years ago, but check the 2 gallons of each. Not sure what the shipping would be, but it might be only 20.00 ish which would make it a better deal for double the amt

Legs, thank you for the explanation. I flubbed it but it all works out okay in the end. I ordered the SS, not the other stuff. Was thinking of getting Ti but switched it to SS on your recommendation. Someday I'll actually get my act together and try the stuff.
use that SS girl......I love it and can't see myself ever going back to kanthal

My daughter as of yesterday had not yet opened the peach/jalapeno jam I sent her for Christmas. It is so good, I sincerely hope I can ration what I have until next season.
that sounds so yummy!

Look for the Equate Eye Allergy Relief Drops.
I use these a few times EVERY day.

Yep I’m going to try one SS one Kanthal and see what I like best. Cyberknife was easy nothing bad so far and not expecting anything so another tomorrow.
Glad the cyberknife has been doable and you got it done, or are nearly done!

That's pretty close, actually. I have a swinging table kind of like the hospital ones, with my computer and current vaping stuff, my water and lots of small clutter - chapstick, nail file, pen, etc, That;s going to have to change with the Wismecs' magnetic battery covers. I'm already picking stuff up with them while I'm vaping.:D

The end table to my left has my charging station, phone, charging VV v3s and my 18650 battery charger, tanks needing cleaning or clean and ready to go (mostly the former, I'm afraid) pipe cleaners and q-tips, plus miscellaneous parts and pieces that should be in the top drawer with coils, out of use mods, boxes of o-rings and spare glass for the Davides, etc. Just past that to my left is my bird watching window. Since the sun here this time of year is close to horizontal from the south, I do have a couple of hours where using the computer is difficult, so I have to get up and take care of things like cooking and dish-washing.:(
sounds pretty close to me, cept I'm in a twin bed, cuz it's the only thing I really have in my lil room. I have a tv tray table on each side, and a window I can look out of. There is also a built in book case by me to put stuff on. When I use the lap top, I bend one leg up, and kinda balance the laptop between my belly and leg

Iffyyyyyyyyyyyy glad you had a good birthday. I missed it here, but did leave you a VM and a text. Luv ya bubba!

I was the same way but on the attys I got SS didn't work out that well but on the Primes it works great and so does the TC. One thing I do like better is you can dry burn them and they work just like new SS seems to lose its properties if you dry burn it or at least thats the way it seemed to me when using TC.

I've always dreamed of a circular desk with one section open to get in and out. Or, even better, one section cut out that I can line up just right. So, I can be sitting on my bed and just line the cut-out up with the bed when I want to lie down. Perfect!

Make that a chair bed on wheels :)

@MikeE3 or anyone how many times do you dryburn your Kanthal coils?

Until either:
a) I destroy them re-wicking
or
b) the resistance has crept up to a value higher than I like.

I use 30ga, and have given up on just rewicking. It really doesn't take that much time to recoil, and I know that it will last long enough for satisfying vaping. If I don't recoil, the wick and coil too often is inferior to a fresh coil. Why open it up and do the job halfway?

Yep 30 is pretty thin. I use 28 and works pretty good.

Nope. Don't mind walking. It's just a combination of wanting lots of space for working on different things and the fact that I tend to suddenly get really tired and need to lay down, like right this minute.

For our ADV atty's they get rewicked and the Kanthal coil dry burned about every 10 days to 2 weeks. A coil will last 4 to 6 months. I see nor taste no reason to change a coil unless it starts looking like a ratty old bbq grill grate after dry burning.

I've heard many times over the years how bad Canada is as far as getting vape stuff over the boarder. It's criminal. I know sometimes there are "work-arounds" (makes it sound illegal though it's not, nor is it underhanded) though I don't know what they are.
I have had no problems bring glycube of base, many many flavorings and all sorts of gear over the border, as long as I have a detailed invoice with the price and even better if the box is still sealed so they open it to look. The guards change all the time so there is no way to know or get a "favorite" guard. Most times they are curious and proud of you that you've quit smoking, haven't blown your face off or died of popcorn lung yet. Its the nicotine thats the grey area and has different effects on different guards so I don't bring anything in question over the border to jeopardize all of our other US online shopping with a black mark to save a few bucks on nic.

One can get several rewickings off 30 gauge using cotton or the hemp I was using before the wire degrades and distorts easily, that was back in my protank days. Trying to rewick 30 gauge with rayon is when you really notice the degrading after a couple dryburns, distorting the coil installing the rayon. Still using a 30/34 clapton it still doesn't dryburn very well, using a 28 core clapton that rewicks very nicely but to get higher ohms(1.4Ω) required a 3.5ID 28/34 clapton that I had to manipulate to fit into a subtank mini RBA then took up all the airflow being such a fat coil, the 30/34 is a 2.5ID coil to get the same 1.4Ω and added bonus of being much easier on batts than the 28 gauge.
I've gotten to the point that its actually easier to toss the build and install a fresh coil rather than dryburning the 30/34 clapton were both enjoying so much. I'm hoping the 29 gauge I have on order solves some of the degrading that 30 gauge has.

Seriously considering returning to silica. But I don't want to spend the time fiddling to get my desired Ω.

I don't do TC, just my mech reos, so that may have something to do with it. I should find out/consider what folks are using I reckin before I go singing it's praises. I could never sub ohm with kanthal.......way too hot and harsh. So had to do dual coils to get the TH I wanted. First time using SS I had to use steam engine since coil toy didn't have an SS setting, and I accidentally made .5 ohm duals rather than the 1 ohm I was shooting for. Decided to at least try it......it was nirvana! Not harsh, not hot.......and I was tasting flavors I'd never tasted in my ADVs. Now I've finally found a great lil atty that I can do only single coil and get everything I want. ((((((((Kenna)))))))))

See I'm just the opposite. When I used 30g (using 26 now I think) I'd avoid recoiling like the plague. I could barely see the wire, and trying to cut the leads on duals was absurd. Way too many times I would cut the part that was supposed to go through the hole. Plus, especially with kanthal, and even a lil bit with SS but not as bad, for me there is a break in period where the coil just doesn't taste as good. After 5.5 years I finally have a place designated where I'm keeping track of how long between dry burns, and even between new coils. But will have to wait til my next coil build to log when I did it. I basically just dryburn when it doesn't taste as good or I get very lil vapor off a new batt. And recoil when a dryburn and rewick doesn't make it taste better. so far it seems that a dryburn/wick lasts about 7 days, sometimes 10, the last one was 5, all on the same juice.

I'm too inept/lazy to DIY...so I buy only "premade" ejuice...

When I started vaping...about 4 years ago...I'd buy 70PG/30VG or 50PG/50VG ejuice...

But over the past 1-2 years most sites only offer 30PG/70VG or 20PG/80VG...

I've recently noticed a "film" on my apartment's windows...(I live in a "corner" apartment where the outside walls are ALL glass)...

Is it realistic to suspect that the higher VG is contributing to the (slight) "haziness" on my windows???

..

JUP! that is a common complaint with high VG. Honestly, DIY can be so super simple. I make 1,000 to 1500 mls at a time so only do it a couple times a year now.

It is good to wash your windows on a regular basis anyway. Don't worry about it.

The windows at the vape shop I frequent are so hazy, when you are inside it looks like the entire west side of town is smoldering.

I found the trick to clean the windows is to not drag the cloth too much. You get small swipe, turn the rag, swipe again then rinse the rag and repeat in another area. Its a big hassle to clean windows but if you clean too much window before rinsing the rag your just pushing the VG around rather than picking it up so it smears...looks clean but hazes right away again. I finish with windex and a gazillion paper towels. I just use Mr Clean, tried many other products but its not the product that doesn't work but how its applied to the window. Just spritzing windex or whatever doesn't work very well, its a 2 step process to cut the VG off the window so it doesn't rehaze the next day again on you.
We hazed our vehicle windshield the first summer we vaped so bad that the window didn't defog at all once winter came but a tiny spot on the bottom then went to the dealer thinking the heater core failed to later research its a con of the VG.

Yep does the same thing in your car and tv screen, you really don't have to use high VG either even gets on your walls. Not like nicotine tho.

I make mine with 28 Kanthal. I just replaced a couple of them today. They had been running for around 4 months, rewicked maybe once a week.

I never left coils in that long before. Or maybe I did, I just started keeping a record of that stuff last summer.

There seemed to be quite an improvement over just rewicking. Figure I will change them every couple of months from now on.

People say you know it's time when the metal starts looking grungy and pitted. But I haven't been able to see that level of detail for many years.
