Tutu, I am not sure I trust those with rewrapping. As soon as I locate where I put them, I will send you a couple adapters, if you want.

@rosesense, that is extremely kind of you. Since I've had zero luck finding any anywhere, I'll take you up on your offer as long as I can pay you for them, the postage and your time. If I ever run across any I will also replenish your stash. :)

I'm curious why you wouldn't trust the re-wrap, though perhaps shoving it into the charger might put undue pressure on it?

Most battery places like batteries + can solder a button top on your flat top battery.

I'd never thought of that. If they advertised that they might get a lot of business as I'm not the only one worried/hampered by the lack of button tops.

@FlamingoTutu , I don't remember well but we had a major discussion about the adapters and soldering and rewrapping and I did some research also. I read comments somewhere on the internet that talked about some possible problems with wrapping or soldering those on. Personally, it just seems like too much trouble and I agree about taking in/out of charger. I suppose it is fine, if you keep an eye on the wrap like we all do anyway.

I will look for my adapter stash and pm you when I find them.

Got your PM, you're enviously efficient.

Guess my research wasn't as in depth as yours. Admittedly, I only did a cursory search. If my brain ever clears I'll look a bit more because now I'm very curious. I did read somewhere that some batteries have those button top just soldered onto the top of the battery, wrapped and sold. It'd be so nice if AW suddenly came back and sold their old batteries...

Sure glad I've still got a bunch of AWs in the stash.

Hope I can get another year or two out of them.

What's the new 18350 that folks are raving about??

Squeak out everything you can from them, the future looks bleak. :( I saw a post somewhere that said he'd bought some new ones but they didn't really hold up. But I don't know squat about them. Keep hoping that AW gets back on their feet but not holding my breath anymore. Best thing may be to ask @Baditude or @Mooch directly. I assume you're talking about button tops.

Funny but great to see you Iffy! :)

Just passing along ECF gossip, but I heard he had a fire in the factory about two years ago. That means that every AW out there has been aging for about two years.

The word I got (second or third hand) was it was a flood. Nearly two years ago. So there have been no new AW's manufactured since then. Any that were made prior to that are at least 2 years old. Even before AW shut down, Andrew Wan had said that all of the AW batteries being advertised on Ali Express (China) were counterfeit; if you go to that site today you will probably find some counterfeit AW batteries.

Today was a day for staying home and doing nothing. The fact that I didn't sleep at all last night had a lot to do with that decision. I decided that I would clear out some of my vape stash. I found a couple of Joytech eVic VT mods. They have internal batteries so I figured it wouldn't hurt to pull them and top off the charge. I also found a couple of Kayfun V3 Mini's that I figured would look good on them. I made a couple .5Ω coils and set to work. I am very happy with the vape I am getting on both of the eVic mods.

@Baditude, thank you, that's what I read on RTD's site. Is there a current button top 18350 that you'd recommend?

You were very productive for doing nothing today. :thumb: Gotta love how well the "old" stuff works. :)

No. Back when I used 18350's in a mini Provari I used only AW button tops. Tried some Efests but they were quite obviously inferior in performance to the AW's. However, they might be your best option at this point.

Mooch also doesn't make any recommendations for 18350 batteries. He will say not to use the below table because it is outdated, but should you make a decision on older data it may be the best way to decide. However, of the 3 batteries below that are button tops, AW's are no longer available, and Imren and MXJO have a terrible reputation as battery companies and low specification performance.

I realize there are vapers who still have 18350 mods and they want to continue to use them, but IMHO the 18350 battery size is just inferior and unacceptable by modern standards because of their poor battery capacity. You might as well be vaping with a ciga-like or a 650 mAh eGo battery. I guess I've been spoiled by the more powerful batteries that we use today.

@Baditude, thank you for taking the time to post that. Very sad news. I asked about the 18350s because @tj99959 asked above my post about that and no one had an answer. I preferred the the 18490s but assume they're also toast. 18650s are just a bit too big, and the ProVari too heavy, for my liking. It's just a sad situation for those of us that prefer a shorter mod.

I actually use a 600 mAh eGo battery, Spinner, when we walk because it's so much lighter. Constantly charging batteries does become a PITA so I can see why you got spoiled.

I admit I am weak-willed. I told myself another lie. I said I would not buy any more vape gear. Today I was browsing and found Kayfun Lites at VapinUSA for $5 each. I have been using Kayfun Lites for the last few weeks and really enjoy them. I will add 5 more to my collection. I am so weak.:cry:
