Oh Please No Hydrogen Bomb Scares!!! vaping and batteries already are 'worse that WMD's' .
Thanks for the b-day wishes
My first DIY attempt was supposed to be a fool proof single flavor mix of ~50/50 @ 6mg but my 5% flavoring yielded something with a chemical rather than strawberry flavor.
adding a few additional drops of strawberry flavoring didn't seem to help so lets let her steep. after a week tried it again still no strawberry taste. Added 4-5 drops of flavoring have yet to try it again. Was strawberry not a good choice for my rookie attempt?
I have the same issue with all the strawberry flavorings I have tried except for Flavorconcentrates.com Strawberry. Still have some FA Strawberry to try but not expecting it to be any different from the TFA and Inawera Strawberry.
I have the chemical taste issues with many/most flavorings.
Capella seems to be the best overall for me. But I can't handle some of theirs.

If you like blueberry flavorconcentrates has some fantastic blueberry.
I hope you do not have the same taste issues I do. If so I will tell you what I have found that works for me.

don't give up.

Hmmmm... Lannie tells me that "the man's job is to lift heavy objects and kill things." I don't particularly care for the second part of that job. Well, and, of course, my tired old body is now resisting the first part too, so maybe I am at the place where the best job I can do is to just blow up when she throws me her bad battery....
Just do not let her buy any bad batteries.

My strawberry is FA so maybe I'm not a total failure at DIY'ing juice. Thanks
I've got 17 flavores coming from flavorconcentrates as we speak. Saw you post about the blueberry so I have some included in the kit.
I may hit the store tomorrow for some of Ms Deb's lemon juice DIY fixer. At this point it sure can't hurt.

On the flavor concentrates, they are not candy flavors they are pretty accurate flavors. the strawberry is not candy strawberry it is strawberry and will need some sweetner. I recommend GNC Liquid Stevia.
Also their Banana is good but benefits from steeping.
Their watermelon is scrumptious.
with their flavorings you just add till it tastes good. unlike artificial flavorings which will go wonky and chemical on ya.
The blueberry is good with a bit of custard mixed in or just straight up. The strawberry is good mixed with the Banana.

A floral or chemical smell or flavor is an indication of too much flavor, according to Bill's Magic Vapor blog on ECF. Try 3%?

@EBates Happy Birthday! Congratulations on the new mod. And don't give up on DIY juice! Maybe look for a few simple recipes to try. I find most flavors can use a small amout of others to make them work. Keep working on it, learn your flavors and you will be enjoying your own juice soon.

for a few of us it is just htere no matter the concentration. I tried the Inawera Shisha strawberry starting at 1%. and went to 10%. Never tasted very strawberry at all just chemical and perfumy.
Some of us are just strange.
Might have something to do with being from another planet?

bill is great however I cannot tolerate hardly any of TFA's flavorings.
thei vanilla swirl is ok but that is the only one I have been able to use so far out of about a dozen flavors of theirs. so I pretty much gave up on their flavorings.
Their Melon flavors were absolutely horrible to me. Watermelon, Canteloupe, etc.

Ebates,
My main ADV is Capella Vanilla Custard V1 at 5% with 2% Capella Vanilla whipped cream. I have not tried the CAP VC V2.
Just like the V1 so much I bought 16 OZ of it :)
And 8 oz of the Vanilla Whipped Cream.

And either on will mix nice with the flavorconcentrates fruit flavors.
For a creamy fruity vape.
The FC Peach is nice too btw.

If its one of the latest ones the single air holes with the dual air flow are both tight. I have to set it so that one hole and part of the wide open is open. I took mine off and put one of the old ones on. I will keep it for emergencies.

I have both the single and dual airflow subtank bases and I don't know which one came apart, I think it was the dual hole but not sure and it hasn't come apart since I torqued it back together. I never thought to notice, all I was really interested in was finding that little ball bearing that I heard bounce across my desk when the base separated.

Or may just need some airing out? That can help with some flavors.

I started with 5% and have gone to probably twice that by now. Had my wife taste it and she detected a slight strawberry taste and to my surprise did not comment on the chem taste. So I have begun to think that my sampling has given me a touch of vape tongue even my mystic breeze tastes different. So I'll take my tasting hat off for the day.
Another planet, never thought of that.

kenna beat me to it while I was looking at another thread.....but I was also going to say that you may have overflavored. But I will say that FA strawberry is somewhat weak. It's a good strawberry, not candy, but it is kinda weak. I'd try 2 or 3 % also and go from there. Each person's taste is different.

so maybe I am at the place where the best job I can do is to just blow up when she throws me her bad battery....
hehehe No blowin up!!!

Good call, I'll give the airing out a shot. Had not given that a shot, just been letin' it sit and shakin' it every once in a while.
I'm glad I decided that my first attempt would be just 10 ml and not 30ml.
Cruel and unusual experimentation to resume on the morrow.
Thanks all for the b-day wishes and all of the help.

I do my test flavors in 10ml quantities as well. If it's vapable, even if not good, I can hand that - either through a couple tanks or down the drain!

And a tank full gives me time to properly evaluate it. Scaling up is easy.

I agree, I just can't handle a driper for testing even stuff that I like tastes different in a RDA. Dumped my test case in a KF3.1 dumped a ml or 2 in it and swing for the fence.
