well my DIY accident didn't come out so good.

I mixed up 60 mL of what I thought was wild cherry. Then realized like a dunce I had put it in the peppermint bottle instead of the cherry one.

It didn't taste BAD...just not good. The real problem I had was it set of a wicked bad 2 day sinus headache.

Yeah first batch of juice I pour out in years.

On the upside my coconut + catalan cream recipe came out yummy.

I tried to make caramel cappuccino & some grapefruit, both taste like burnt popcorn. Back to the drawing board.

I have not had a whole lot of luck with citrus flavors. They usually end up burning my sinuses. I have read that there is an additive you can put in to mellow them some vape Wizard maybe? I need to hunt it down and see

Hey learning more about you as well Deb.:thumb: Thank you for your service also
well thanks, but even though the will was there, but the service didn't amount to much

One is Eanut Butter
never tried this, is it one you get on the web??

On the upside my coconut + catalan cream recipe came out yummy.
yay!! I really need to get some more coconut, had a tiny bottle and fell in love with it.

To those who have used coconuts, what say you as to the best one out there. I want one that tastes like what comes outta the bag.....sweetened flakes.

awwwww sorry those didn't turn out. Maybe add some other creams to the caramel capp, or adjust % etc. I would think most citruses don't do well as a stand alone flavor.

Hold on Myrany, don't toss it yet. Give it sometime to steep and your sinuses to clear. Then taste again and see. You might find a new flavor that you might like.
Hope your sinuses clear up soon; no fun.
Take care

Deb

I have only tried 2 coconuts. TFA coconut I didn't like at all. THis one is a FA coconut and I am really loving it. Mixed with the catalan cream it is a slightly spicy fresh coconut though I suspect you could sweeten it to get it closer to the bagged stuff. It is pretty darn close as is.

I did 5% FA coconut and 2% FA Catalan Cream no sweetener

Next time I think I am going to go up on the coconut maybe 1% more

NOrmally I would agree with you but anything I react to that strongly. Totally clear sinuses to blinding sinus headache in less than 5 minutes I really don't want to risk a 2nd try at LMAO

I get sinus headaches bad enough that the only way to tell them from a migraine is an xray and the duration of them.

Yeah won't risk a repeat of that one.

thanks hun. I know scott (sterno) was saying that he liked the inawera coconut much better than the FA, but thought I'd get some other opinions while I was at it. Good to know about the TFA. Don't really lean toward getting much of anything from TFA since I like concentrated flavors, but I would if they were the only one that had something, or everyone said theirs was the best of something I really wanted.

This is what I use, and it beats the heck out of Vape Wizard
In the First Aid section of the pharmacy, pick up some .9% Saline (Wound Wash/Flush).
It's used to clean out open wounds .. safe for a baby.
It's pure sterile water with .9% saline solution, and comes in a spray can.
It comes out of the can in a stream that is easy to direct into a dripper bottle.

I add about 1 drop per 2ml. to my juice.
It brings out the flavor (just like salt does in cooking), ... it smooth's out the harshness (maybe the bitterness you pick up on), .. and blends the flavors together.
It works especially good with fruits and chocolates.
You will not taste any salt, as it's super mild.
It will "brighten" the flavor of the fruit, but I find it doesn't help banana :p
It changes the PH in the juice, and cuts the acid.

There is also a saline solution you spray/inhale up your nose ..but that's the wrong one.

It has added ingredients.
You want the one without anything in it except the .09 saline and sterile water, that is used to clean wounds.
Have fun experimenting.

Thank you for sharing this. As one with a very limited sense of taste, such a bit useful
advice might prove of high value. Will have to give it a try. It does sound like it
will work effectively to draw out flavor.

My lack of taste is life long though. Recently, I have been mildly surprised. I taste
salsa and tortillas real well. They are yummy to me. I used to never eat any kind of
chips. To me salsa tastes earthy and a bit sweet with a slight tang. The tortillas
have gritty texture what tastes warm, airy. Combine the two and I'll knock anyone over
to get to them.

Of course, my wife is claiming the glory of it. "See? I told you, stop smoking and you'd
taste more and better", she says. I am also tasting other things. Have noted a taste
of strawberries being delicious, also finding peanut butter a bit woody tasting.

When I'm looking for a specific taste in a flavor I check reviews to see if anyone has mentioned specifics about what they detected in the taste. Problem is too many people just say things that are no help. Loved it, hated it, & wet dog are not helpful. Wet dog is subjective; sweet, sour, candy, nutty are helpful. And people wonder why their reviews don't show on the sites.

That's fantastic! How long have you been smoke free? It's been a year & a half for me & my tastebuds are still changing. Every few months I notice a change.

Hmm... interesting. I have Citrus Punch from tfa & it's a perfect mountain dew flavor, just add a dab of sour & it's ready.

This came up on another thread - lots of Floridan's here...

For all my fellow Floridians. There is a bill which has passed thru one committee so far and is going to essentially make vaping or even possessing nicotine dispensing devices illegal in the State of Florida. It is imperative that you contact your Representative with a call and let them know that this is not acceptable! The bill adds vaping to the Florida Clean Air Act. Although cigarettes have some exemptions like being able to smoke in Bars and such. Vaping is not included!! Some that means that every Vape Shop would be in violation and would have to close shop!

This bill was written by Tampa Rep Shawn Harrison. It is HB1143. Here are some links with the info on the bill and what you can do. Please pass this around to fellow Florida Vapers and get the word out. This must be stopped!!!
