Since last night, I've been trying to get past the sentiments expressed in posts about cloud chasing, here and elsewhere. I find that I can't. It feels too much like victim blaming.
So, whom shall we derogate next? Perhaps the FDA acted because of dual users -- See?
vaping doesn't necessarily replace smoking, and anyway, how dare they not quit the same way I did? Or, perhaps it's the fault of those who like sweet/cereal/
tobacco/...-flavored
juice, because we all know that kids like those flavors. Right? Or, maybe it's that guy whose mod blew up, because weren't we all under the radar before that happened? I suppose it could be those darned cloud chasers, who had the audacity to challenge one another to competitions to see whose lungs were biggest -- instead of just smoking.
Please forgive my sarcasm; it is where I go when my coping mechanisms reach their fail point. Here's the thing. The world is not a just place, much though we wish it to be. Bad things happen, as we've all witnessed this week. To blame any category of vaper is neither helpful nor honest. We are better than this.
