Pretty darned sharp set up there Diver! Looks like the other "used to be" balck one's got a mile or two on it. Congrats on the new shiny!!!
The black one has had a lot of use. That is why I bought another, I knew it was a good mod for me.

Kind of OT but kinda not. About half way through the NASCAR race this weekend, the camera panned out over the parking lot where the cab of a pick up was totally engulfed in flames. Of course, the announcers jokingly said, "Boy, somebody's in for an unpleasant surprise when they get ready to leave!" I immediately expected to hear today, "NASCAR parking lot fire attributed to exploding mod" but so far, no speculation as to the REAL cause of the fire.

Edit: Oh, BTW, Get off my lawn! Ya see this frizbee? I'M KEEPIN' IT!!!
I saw that, did you notice the grill in the back of the truck? I'm wondering if it was still hot when they put it in the truck and that was the cause of the fire.

Going out on a limb... According to posts here, the body is aluminum, which is most likely electrically negative/'ground'. If that is the 'case', then I see no objections to placing a 'gold spring' on the negative end of the battery (assuming it can handle any normal vaping amperage usage/draw). If the spring fails, there will be no further current flow; aka a fancy fuse.

NEVER use a magnet on the positive end of a batt within a metallic case!!!

If anyone disagrees with the above, PLEASE LMK! I'm always willing to learn any exceptions/corrections to my assumptions and subsequent advice.

As to phurry/pheathered/phinned phriends, luv and appreciate 'em all! Just ain't too excited 'bout da cleanups... but normally worth any aggravation...
It is all aluminum, inside and out (except for the contact plate), which is why I thought the spring might work. But, I might like VV's solution even better :)

Yea, vape mail. I was able to get the red and Black RX200 with a Black Herakles Plus.
 Nice, Diver! How are you liking it?
Yep ... that's a work-about. I used a piece of folded-up tin foil to complete the circuit on a AA flashlight. There were no springs just a metal contact point on the negative side. So I put a 'square' of the tin foils down there as a spacer and it worked.
I wonder whether tin foil is conductive ...
...
Thank you MikeE3 for backing me up at least a little on this one. These guys were being so mean  (Not really :D ) To take it a step further, Would a billet cut from the appropriate size aluminum rod be a more permanent fix? I'd be more than happy to machine a little stepped wafer to help out Little Bird. ;)
You actually have a tool to do that? Wowzerkadowzer! There may be a barter in my future :)

Have you seen the new tank for the K5. SS bulges at center holds 6ml. The more I think about it since I use TC SS might not be a bad way to go. When it's empty I will get Dry Coil and it won't fire. Much nicer looking then the original 12.50. Pretty soon it will be up to the price of the V4. Busardo loves his MTL kit. How tight a draw is it with the largest one on the wide open setting?
I think you won't use the MTL kit, Pat. You were really liking the draw already, weren't you? Now the SS 6ml tank is something I bet you'd love!

humph! I almost burned up my SUV while out kayaking one day. Came back off the lake after a day of kayaking. Stowed the kayaks and gear. Opened the driver door to get in. I saw a thin blackish line going across the plastic center console and continue along the fabric seat of the passengers side.

What the heck, me thinks? Then I look at the mirror and I had left a pair of polarized sunglass hanging from it. Yep as the sun traversed the sky and went through the glasses it was leaving a burn mark in its path.

If'n it actually caught fire and burned up, I'd of had no idea what caused it.
Sounds like a tobacco product to me! Did FDA ban polarized sunglasses?

I'm glad you noticed! I think I wouldn't have...

Since I vape a product that contains nicotine, I am not a user of tobacco products. No matter how they mis-define it.

??

Did you mean no nic? Although I whole-heartedly agree that even with nic it's not a tobacco product....

...
No, I meant with NICOTINE. In reality, nicotine is not a product of tobacco. It's a product of extraction. Kinda like beet sugar, maple syrup, etc.

Isn't nicotine a drug? Everyone talks about it all the time .... It is a legal drug though ( sort of )...... But that brings up a question about certain "other" drugs which are legal in some places/states but not legal in others...... No matter, I don't talk about those things on here so it doesn't concern me one way or the other.... It's one rule of this forum that doesn't bother me.
Nope - not a drug. It's a chemical. A drug is a legal definition denoting a chemical used for medical purposes, and the Federal court acknowledged in 2009 that is not the case for vaping :)

This is one of the (many) reasons it infuriates me that FDA deems vaping a tobacco product. Having worked so hard to quit smoking, I do NOT want the presence of cotinine to label me as a tobacco user! I wonder if 1.5mg juice would trip the bio marker threshold ... I also wonder if exposure to DH's cigars would do the same thing.
DC2 had a post on here where he recorded his attempts to test negative for continine. Urine test strips. Took him two weeks to test negative.

I think it's a steaming load of BS that nicotine is this big bad demon, not to mention caffeine--essentially the same--getting a free pass. Neither should be demonized. :grr:

Grrrrr
Certainly no disrespect to ECF or any of the mods, but... seems to be coming!

Thank you, haven't heard that eons. Didn't realize how short sighted they were.

In reality, nicotine is not a product of tobacco.

I'll grant that in FACT nic is not a product of tobacco, but a chemical obtained (for our purposes) either of extraction or synthetic, but the FDA deeming is the reality we're faced with, as misbegotton as it is... and as far from fact as it is!!

Maybe this?
Circuit Board Spacer | Madvapes

Or maybe the device is intended for button tops?

Taking the dog for a daily walk, rain, snow... Yeah, dogs are not for everyone. ;)

Uh, as long as admitting to it won't keep me from continuing to stock up! If I had to, I could be done today.

But.... oooooh, shiney! [emoji38]

I remember one time driving the Alcan Hwy in the winter in a 64 Pontiac and the Voltage Regulator quit working I stuck a penny in it to be able to keep the battery charged. It was in the winter so we had to have heat. Got us to the next town about 150 miles. I forget the name but it was small on a lake and they were able to put a new one in. I remember it wasn't cheap and had to have my dad wire me enough money so we could make it the rest of the way to the lower 48. Some place in Canada. One thing about it what I had heard the Alcan was a lot better in the winter then in the summer. That was in Jan of 69.

By the legal definition you just quoted that would mean nic is a drug .... Why? Because I use nic for medical purposes..... It might not be used for medical purposes defined by some bureaucratic agency or the criminal gvt. but it is a medicine to me, therefore it is a drug..... Like most drugs if you overdose on it then it will kill you deader than a hammer.........

Chlorine bleach is a chemical..... But if I drink a whole gallon of it, then it will medically kill me and therefore it is also a drug if used in that way......

The problem is that dumb bureaucratic agencies decide what a substance is classified.... The reality is that most any chemical or substance that enters the body and has an effect on it can be considered a "drug" .....

I just pretend I'm panning for gold.

Except for Aspire Nauty coils I'm OK. (*) Actually I'm OK w/ them too but I'd like to maybe sell off all my old stock w/ the small holes and replace them w/ the current version. Other than that we're feeling OK.

Keep thinking about another liter(s) of nic but I'd rather wait on that as long as we can just so it's 'newer' than a lot we got in the past year. We have 9+ years in the freezer and could double that if we cut our nic from 12 to 6.

If anyone runs into sales on these please let me know.

evape.us still has the larger holed nauti coils, in stock, cheap. That's where I stocked up from. :) Electronic Cigarette - Best Electronic Cigarette - Vapor Cigarette Aspire Nautilus BVC Coils (Pack of 5) *New Larger Wick Holes at www.evape.us

Thanks hun! Have I mentioned I really DON'T like cats?????????? lol
Cats that think they're dogs are okay. ;)

We used to have a cat that was pretty cool. She was an orphan feral kitty my husband found on the spare tire under a Forest Service truck that was brought in from a seasonal fire station. Took him several days to follow the intermittent mews. Her eyes were still closed. Somehow he managed to keep her alive, got her shots, heartworm meds and spayed. Then he left for the summer to work on a helitack crew. He left her with the other guys in his barracks who took good care of her and had helped raise her.

When I got to the FS, she promptly adopted me. I don't care for (nor hate) cats. She moved into our barracks the first few nights I was there and refused to leave. I'm allergic to animals, cats in particular. It's the saliva and they lather themselves in it. (So do bunnies and I've owned a herd of them. Er, more aptly, been owned by a herd of 'em. You think cats are aloof/demanding? Any of you fools that think you own your pets, even a hamster, you are dead wrong, period.)

So there I was, stuck with a cat (and bad allergies) for three months, owned by a guy I'd never met...
Why do places limit the amount of orders you place. If they have a ton why not sell them. Origin Vapes has Kayfun 5 spares and has for quite a while but they limit you to 3 when they have the glass in stock they limit you to 1 so if you want to order more then that you have to place 2 or 3 orders and pay shipping on each one. It sucks.
Discount Vapers has a limit on what you can buy. Their prices were, and usually still are, very reasonable. Vendors used to try to buy from them in bulk to resell so they limit what you can order but they also list how much stock they have on hand. I've never seen a limit of one there though.
Yuk. I just got to complain to someone. I went out today on a trip that involved 2 hours driving. Only took one mod, with a new battery and a full tank. Trouble was I had messed up the wick. It started spitting hot juice on my tongue almost as soon as I left home and did it nonstop the whole trip. By the end it felt like having hot needles jabbed into the end of my tongue.

I did try not vaping for a while. But after a bit of experimentation I came to the conclusion that hot needles in the tongue was a little less bad than not vaping. Normally I could handle taking a break, but when I'm driving I'm a vaping maniac.

It was a good lesson though. Always take 2 setups when you go out.
Early on, like the first week or two off cigs, what should have been a short trip turned into a long one. This was before I found ECF. My battery died. We stopped for gas and I caved. There where posters all over the windows about their cheap cigs. Went in and asked for a pack. They rang it up at nearly twice the price of namebrand cigs. They were POed I cancelled but I gutted it out all the way home. That was one of those times I realized I'd won over over BT. It was huge for me. Don't go much anywhere without backups these days though. :)
@holimakaru, most excellent find! Gotta love it when lying weasels have it socked to them.
I grew up with cats. My sister is a cat person. They make me sneezy & itchy, & oooooohhhh those litter boxes! I was given a kitten once, had him for several years. Then the person that gave him to me passed away & I gave the cat to my sister.
Good thing you could rehome the cat. Bet it made all three of you happy. :)

Speaking of preparedness - is everyone comfortable with their stocking up efforts???
I have a short list that is very short. Surprises even me. I have a Serenity leather wrap in the mail, Pico and other stuff waiting at the PO (it's Singapore Post that requires a sig from FT) and need a couple of charger cables and a liter of nic and I'm done. Figure I can squeeze in some FT orders on down the road but if not, I'm probably good to go. My husband looks at me kind of oddly when I say I haven't ordered a bunch of new stuff.
Nope. Gov fixed that when they added more chemicals so they go out by themselves.
Mine didn't. A couple did but the vast majority didn't. I was kinda happy I wasn't inhaling even more chemicals.

Seems some still don't. There was a fire cal the other day. "Homeowner need assistance putting out a fire in a large ashtray."  Guess the homeowner hasn't heard of a glass of water. The unfunny part was that the yahoo lives below us.

I'd be worried about the bulging part. If it tips, the tank might break, plastic or glass. Just my take on it.
Taking the dog for a daily walk, rain, snow... Yeah, dogs are not for everyone. ;)
You sit home and get fat and lazy watching your cats sleep. If a dog owner even thinks about getting fat and lazy, bowzer is there to make you get off your fattening ...., go outside and explore the wonders of nature. Take that.

Bloody dog had to go potty at 1:15am. Try carrying a 100 lbs dog down the stairs then. Cats come in handy sometimes. :sneaky:

You might be interested in this thread Tobacco Free - Synthetic Niocotine I think the 13th post has a link to a podcast. Drop down a few posts to mine that gives a time stamp for where to hear about synthinc nic. Don't really care what the FDA and their little hurt feels (from past defeats) think, it will be interesting to see how it all pans out in court.

I think I'm finally on my second wind of outrage over the damning. :grr:
Just shut your trap. I made sure it was the pink one. She won't notice until she takes off her sunglasses next fall.
