ACV = apple cider vinegar. But be careful!!!!!! You also might try a small amount of vanilla, like vanilla swirl. Not enough to make it taste vanilla, but a lot of baking includes some vanilla. You don't taste the vanilla, it just brings the true flavor out.

Check out The Flavoring Apprentice thread.

I have been following for almost 2 years. Bill's Magic Vapor has what he calls the "100 drop test" where each drop - 1%. You only make about 3-5 ml per test, so you don't waste much ingredients testing recipes. His blog explains it in detail. Very valuable for tweeking a recipe. Also to add vanillas and creams to round out a mix. Not to taste vanilla-ey or creamy, it just adds body to a recipe. We also get into using other than TFA flavors. Sometimes TFA just needs other flavors to get it right. Andrea's Strawberry recipe is there, along with many others. It's a long thread and has been through many iterations, but lots of good info.

Doh! :w00t: I shoulda knowd dat!! I'll delve deeper into the wonders of the thread in a while. Right now I am done messing around with flavors. Thanks to everyone for all of their assistance. You would think that after making my own juice for a couple of years I would know most of this stuff but, being completely honest, even though I DIY my own juice, I have been vaping the same flavor for all that time. That's one of the main reasons I am trying to learn more. I am getting sick of vaping the same juice day in and day out.

I was thinking 1 or 2% Koolada to "brighten" it up without changing the flavor. What say you?

T-bud overload wise, I say Koolada can be near as potent as cinnamon; a lil' goes a looong ways!

Speaking of flavorings.........does anbody know where to get a good bean burrito flavor.......

Ummm, not at Taco Bell!

[QUOTE="Debadoo, post: 16836855, member: 92417"Wahoooooooo!!! What was it? And where's the recipe??? [/QUOTE]

Well, I don't exactly have a name for it. It's a strawberry concoction, and you'll have to wait until I get home to give the recipe because it's on my home computer, and right now, I'm at work.

No I bought 4ml sample size bottles. I want to figure what I like first and then order more.
Dang, I think when I read original post my brain just inserted oz for ml. Thought you were nuts but at least I kept my mouth shut. ;)
When did you change your name? I just noticed.
I got fed up with those who agitate for everyone to wean themselves down to 0mg. Did it this morning.

I guess part of it is emotional backlash from the person who will not be named.
I didn't notice. Now I can't call you oh my god anymore.

Not sure who you are talking about but people need to mind their own business. Some people do better with nic. :)
Don't feel alone. My wife always forgot my birthday unless I reminded her on a daily basis the week prior. There are numerous funny stories about her forgetting my birthday.
The hubbys Birthday I never forget. Our Anniversary? Well I have to break out the cake cutting set we used at the reception to check the year. ;)

Then again the wedding was sort of an accident anyways.
I can't remember our anniversary to save my life. We tried to elope, after 11 years together, but more and more people kept inviting themselves so the date kept changing. Husband remembers, me never, hear about it all the time.

Just talked to my mom who apologized profusely for her and dad forgetting my birthday. I told her it wasn't until tomorrow and all was well. Getting old sucks sometimes but she did feel a lot better about it. :)

No but you aren't the first to ask. Is there a bean and cheese burrito flavor out there?

That thread is a goldmine. You can get lost in there for days.

I thought I was bad. At least I usually try something different about every six months.

Yeah, you had me confused. I was thinking you made your own joose, but then when you started asking questions it made me think you were just now getting into it.

The thing I like best about DIY is that beyond following a very small number of rules for safety's sake, structure can go take a flying leap.

Some people should mind their own business. Now FT will have to call you Trinity instead of My God. Or, is that blasphemy or something?

I've been making my own juice for 4 years. But, like you, I pick a favorite and seldom vary. That's why I hesitate to give DIY advice. I have very limited knowledge.

But, I do take notes. From previous Iffy posts:
  • Add 2-3 drops of concentrated lemon juice to each 5 ml of your mix for fruit flavors to make them *pop* without tasting the lemon.
  • I use ACV (apple cider vinegar) for desserts and savory recipes; 1 drop/3ml. Any recipe with a cream component, I would treat as a dessert/savory, but that's just me. Please note that some folk may prefer more drops of ACV or LJ. My ratio is just a general rule of thumb.
Hey, Deb. Wasn't it you who didn't know who Mistress Nomad was. I found a video of her. It's a video by One Stop DIY Shop. When I first saw her, she was just making videos on her own. Then she quit to work for (I think) Freedom Smokes USA. That was the last I heard from her.

When I started, she's the one that walked me through everything to get me started. Not as adorable as Steel Jan, but very nice and helpful.

I have to admit I went through a period where I DIYed everything I vaped. Then this past summer my life went nuts and I was buying Haus and NJoy liquids. I am just getting back to DIY now. I had to start almost from scratch and most of my flavors went past sell by date so I pitched em. I did pick up a dozen or so by flavor art which is not a company I had used before but I was impressed by the PBusardo videos of his tour of the plant.

I am done with flavor west flavors. Some of those didn't just go past sell by date they seemed to have corroded the bottles or something. Thick gunky gross stuff so I couldn't even salvage the bottles.

I am far from being a goddess. Got too much of my own stuff to deal with to impose anything on other people.

Flavor West's yogurt is great. I see some other companies have yogurt flavor now, but I will stick with what I know.

Sneaking onto the front porch... I DIY with mostly with Flavour Art. The Irish Cream, in some form, is always in my rotation. Since my taste buds came back, I like using lower percentages. I've kept some TFA flavors that FA doesn't have like Holiday Spice. I have so many recipes in the queue to try it's silly, but lots of fun!

Welcome to the Front Porch, WH! :thumb: I used to have a bunch of recipes I was going to try but would try one flavor and then stick with it for months and months. The recipes are still on my computer somewhere, but I have no idea where now. :(
I love it..........:w00t::thumbs:
Chicken soup?! Yeah, there's some good requests in there. Problem is, you can never undo what you've seen. Less likely that you can undo what you've tasted.

I don't know how you do it, Matt. Sometimes I have trouble sticking with two flavors for five ml of each.
I'm kind of into predictability. If I find something I like I stick to it until I get bored with it. For example, I've been eating the same thing for breakfast for almost the last 3 months. I still like it, it still tastes good so why change horses mid stream.

Just in case your wondering it's Crunchy Granola Raisin Bran Cereal. It's the store brand of Honey Nut Raising Bran. The store brand (generic) is actually better than the real thing. Bigger flakes and lots of honey. Even makes the leftover milk taste good and that's rare as far as I'm concerned. Kind of like milk and honey. (Everytime I type "honey" the tablet wants to insert "hiney". Maybe it's trying to tell me something.)

Good Morning Everyone!
Hope you all have a great day. For a Monday anyway!

I was beating around the bush in a post I made last night, because I didn't want you to feel insulted by what I said. But now that you've brought it up yourself, I can go ahead and say it straight out: your need for structure is going to get in your way when you're trying to make new DIY juices. Ya gotta let your hair down. :headbang:
