Good job Ken. A really great idea and looks like a fun project.

I've got a spool of 26 gauge you can have. Thick wire heats up too slowly for me.My New Yorkers came in but not the Velocity mini or the HG2's yet.
Vapin a 1.8 T3 on a new yorker right now. With a recycled laptop 1850 though.
Fine for a 1.8 coil. Running in the neighborhood of 8 watts.
Got some 24 and 26 ga Kanthal on the way as well.
Thanks but mine is coming with the Velocity mini which is what it will be used in if I wind up using it at all. If I do like the 26 ga I will take you up on that though.I've got a spool of 26 gauge you can have. Thick wire heats up too slowly for me.
I've got a few different gauges but, I find myself using 28 gauge the most. Thanks but mine is coming with the Velocity mini which is what it will be used in if I wind up using it at all. If I do like the 26 ga I will take you up on that though.
I sort of got it just to try.
Depending on the size coil needed I use 32,30 and 28. Mostly use 30.I've got a few different gauges but, I find myself using 28 gauge the most.
All I have is 30g. Five wraps on a machine screw for 1.5Ω. All alike. Heat up quick, good flavor, good clouds at 50/50.Depending on the size coil needed I use 32,30 and 28. Mostly use 30.
I used 28 in my little caterpillar dripper. I use 30 now for the T3's and Evods. Not sure yet what I will use in the Velocity and ST Mini.Depending on the size coil needed I use 32,30 and 28. Mostly use 30.
Same here for now. 5 wraps =1.5-1.6 and 6 wraps =1.8.All I have is 30g. Five wraps on a machine screw for 1.5Ω. All alike. Heat up quick, good flavor, good clouds at 50/50.
I use a triple parellel 32 or 30. Oddly the 32 is easier to make large parellel coils with.I used 28 in my little caterpillar dripper. I use 30 now for the T3's and Evods. Not sure yet what I will use in the Velocity and ST Mini.
You use double 30 though don't you? Might have to try that in the Velocity Mini.
I have to get me a couple in different sizes. All I've been building is micro coils but, getting into tc I'll need to build spaced coils and with NI200 a machine screw works well I understand. All I have is 30g. I remember Busardo's or someone on YouTube doing that and they were perfect. That was with titanium or stainless. I thought nickel was too soft to hold it's springyness like that. You do not have to use a machine screw. Just wrap on mandrel and then while on mandrel stretch it out a bit and then push it back together. Makes a nice spaced coil.
Are you building spaced or contact microcoils?I have to get me a couple in different sizes. All I've been building is micro coils but, getting into tc I'll need to build spaced coils and with NI200 a machine screw works well I understand.
I think it will have enough springiness to work. But have not tried it with nickel.I remember Busardo's or someone on YouTube doing that and they were perfect. That was with titanium or stainless. I thought nickel was too soft to hold it's springyness like that.
Right now contact on my Kayfuns but, with my experiments with TC I'm thinking I'll need spaced. Are you building spaced or contact microcoils?
I've been thinking of trying spaced microcoils (1.5-1.9mm ID) but am not sure what application would benefit from them.Right now contact on my Kayfuns but, with my experiments with TC I'm thinking I'll need spaced.
