Suggestions for ejuice DIY calculator for iPad/iPhone? I've been in the DIY threads for the last 2 hours (!) and saw lots of familiar faces :). But there's soooo much info in there. Sort of the "good news/bad news," huh? I don't mind reading, but slogging through thousands of posts is more than I can handle. Lazy bird. :?:
I use "Steam Engine", they have an android app, not sure if they have a iPhone app or not but, they also have a website that has all the functionality of the app. I think the app is actually linked to the Web site. It covers all the bases. Juice mixing, coil wrapping and calculations and a bunch of other stuff. Nice app. Only problem is I have not figured out how to save a recipe so I've been writing them down which might be better anyways because you might not always have Web Access. It is great for stepping up or down in amount of juice though. I haven't hit the limit if they have one of how many flavors you can have on one recipe and you can specify ridiculously low percentages as well. A lot of mixing apps won't go below 1% of a item and some won't let you enter tenths even. I highly recommend it.

I thought I would write a short review of the Innokin Disruptor and the I_Sub (everything is "I" something these days) Apex Tank that came with it. Someone had ask me in a PM what I thought of it and I thought I would post here for all to read.

It's a great device overall. Although it doesn't have temperature control it fits my style of vaping very well as I am just getting into TC. It is very, very well constructed. Heavy duty throughout. I had made a comment a few pages back that it was a MILSPEC (Military Specification) vaping device and that seems very close to the truth. The aluminum construction is thick and gives the look and feel of something that should stand up to abuse quite well. It is either VV or VW and of course I use it in the VW mode. I believe it might still use Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) as one of the methods of power control as I think I hear a bit of that rattlesnake sound. I haven't had any problems with the quality of the vape however. I received it yesterday and quickly brought it up to a full charge and have been vaping it full time since, with the exception of in the bed as the tank topper that comes with it is quite loud and would wake Doree. I do wake up in the night and take a vape occasionally. They battery is supposed to be 2000 mah however, it is lasting quite well. At present I have almost half the battery (fuel gauge) meter left. The battery is the new thing on this device. It is a separate box that slides on to the main part of the device where the controls, circuitry and 510 connector are located (the Control Head). It has a sort of "track" it slide down until the pins on the battery "plug in" to the control head. It is held in place by a magnet and feels quite solid and I have no fear of it falling off. Time will tell how well this set up stands up to use. I really do feel like this thing will survive drops well and should give the user a long life. Extra batteries are available and sell in the vicinity of $17. Pricey.

The tank that comes with it is new from Innokin however, I believe it's just an update from one of it's earlier tanks as it shares cartridges with another tank. This tank is the Innokin iSub Apex tank. It uses a .5 ohm cartridge that they say is using KGD cotton (they say "japanese cotton" on their web site). It is a top fill tank and the cartridge provides the 510 connector for it so everytime you change the cartridge you essentially install a new 510. Haven't seen that since I stopped using a carto tank. I have to say it vapes really well and in my opinion, produces a huge vapor cloud. I'm sure cloud chasers might disagree but, I'm not asking them anyway. Innokin recommends vaping it a 20-35 watts and I am staying at 20 watts. I tried creeping up to 25 watts and it got way too hot and really noisy. As I said before it's noisy. Lot's of snap, crackle and pop when you hit it. It is a top fill tank and I've found the filling to be easy. I am using a "needle point" plastic bottle and the plastic point fits into the fill holes really well. I haven't tried a standard fill bottle or eye dropper with it but, have no doubt they would work fine. Adjustable air flow allows me to choke it down till it is almost as tight as a KayFun Lite and open it up until it is very airy and open. It also has drip tip air control to "bleed" air into the vapor stream should you want to do "direct to lung" rather than "mouth to lung" vaping.

Overall I would say they are both good devices with good quality control. I would highly recommend them to both the experienced vaper and the NOOB. Especially the new vaper if purchased as a package. Quick charge, assemble, juice up and your vaping. Great flavor and tons of vapor if you want it.

How's that for a review? First one I've ever done too. :)

How long have you been off the stinkies and vaping? Our doctor knows we haven't been smoking for years .... but he's said the time limit is actually 6 years to be considered a 'non-smoker'.

I just resist running a windows virtual machine on my Mac just to use a juice calculator like eJuiceMeUp. I'm not buying a copy of Windows OS just to do this. With the popularity of Mac's and IOS devices I'm still surprised one hasn't been developed yet.

Nice review, Matt.

And those of us with other Innokin products have come to expect the durable "feel" of their gear, so that's not surprising.

Not sure I'm ready to be "locked in" to their proprietary replaceable battery, with what's likely coming down the pike.... but if I won one....

Nice job Matt. I like the idea that the batt is a separate component and in the future it it dies you can get another one. I suppose though that depends on how long the PV is popular and how long Innokin continues to supplied replacement batt components.

Exactly. Now that I have one I will probably order another battery just to have it on hand but, that would be about it. I will probably buy some cartridge refills however, i like the way this tank vapes and it puts out so much vapor that I may have to cut back on my nic if I use it regularly.

I had thought about you having said this before, when she posted that......I did wonder before when you'd said that if that was your doc's or his facility's policy rather than a widely accepted thing. But......I also looked at her post again and noticed something that didn't click the first time........it didn't just say non smoker......it said non tobacco! That's even more wonderful!!

Or how long they'll be allowed to sell them! Being custom made for a vaping device... that wasn't on the market pre '07!

I think it has something to do with it taking 6 years for your lungs to fully regenerate to the best of their ability depending on how long you've smoked before quitting. He once said that after six years your lungs are comparable to a non-smoker if you haven't damaged them beyond 'repair'.

I recall for insurance purposes it was only a year to be classified as a non-smoker. It's still in the gray area here in PA insurance wise if vaping still classifies you as a smoker as the key question is 'Do you use tobacco products?'. And we all know that's up to a lot of debate and interpretation. Personally I don't use tobacco products ... but insurance companies may still consider vaping as using tobacco products.

Jup.......that's why it's so fantastic that said non tobacco user even on stuff that comes from her insurance. At least one company here has their hearts right about it!

Hiya Nancy!! Glad ya came over. Pull up a rocker and make yourself comfy. Y'all, Nancy is a super nice lady I've known from a couple other threads, and a new reonaut. We have quite a few reonauts here Nancy. Here's the link to the back porch too. We have to keep the front porch to vaping as much as we can so it doesn't get moved to the lounge, but on the back porch we can talk about pretty much anything. Most folks are on both porches, but you'll find a couple that frequent only one or the other. Older Folks and Vaping Back Porch - Part Four

Hope you'll come join us there also!

Nice write up on the disrupter Matt. Don't know if you saw it yet, but Innokin released a fb post today about the new 3300 mah cell it has the newer rounded corners.

Hi Nancy ... thanks for dropping in and Welcome to the porch. Hope you decide to find a comfy rocker and join us regularly.

Thanks for the welcome. I have see the front porch since the original thread, but wasn't sure if I should post in any of them since I am tech still a youngun by most standards (only 44), but I feel there is more to being older at times than just age.

I have a basic DIY calculator called iVape on my iPhone. It's decent in a pinch. You can specify you nic base level, target nic level, PG/VG ratio, amount to make, and a bunch of flavors by percent, It calculates the amount of incredients by ml's and drops to add.

You can save the results as a picture to you photo library. But you can't name the recipe or even record the base nic level you started with in the screen capture.

Mike, I think Apple shut down the juice DIY calculators on the iPhone/iPad a year+ ago as being tobacco related ARGH! Several were dropped (if you had it you could keep it but no new downloads) and others had functionality limited or restricted. That's probably why iVape uses saving a picture as a way to get around the rules.

Our motto is, if you're older today than yesterday, you're old enough. And if you're NOT older today than yesterday, you have to tell us how you did that!

If Mickey did that, they'd get hit with an anti-trust suit....
