The problem is if someone vapes 50/50 and uses 20% flavor, it isn't going to be a 50/50 mix anymore.
Yep that is a problem. When I used to use flavors like that I had an extra bottle of VG. I can't remember if I used 20% flavor 20% VG then the mix and the nic. Since the nic was 50/50 also.

What's my nic level now? Great question. Most of my juices are 12 mg. When I started, the shop suggested 9 mg. I have some juice as high as 18, and several as low as 6 mg, because that is as high as is available in that particular flavor. Interestingly, the higher the nic level, the more it seems to "burn" my throat. Lower nic levels seem to be much milder, more flavorful, and don't burn. Is that just my imagination, or is it real? I have considered some higher nic levels, but I worry about the "burn" and doing too much nic. I've been a steady 1 pack a day Marlboro red guy for years--ocassionally a little more, but mostly just a pack. Suggestions please!
What pg/vg level are you using? Pg carries more flavor & more throat hit (burning). Vg provides more of the cloud, but will mute flavor & throat hit. Nic does have a slight flavor, & a little throat hit, also. So higher nic, or higher pg = more throat hit. You could go higher nic & higher vg to get off the cigs. If you diy'd you could adjust all of this to suit yourself & have a higher nic & vg, lower pg, & adjust your flavorings to compensate for using more vg to lower the throat hit. If buying juice try a 18mg, 20 pg/80vg juice in your favorite flavors. That might do it for you. I vape 50/50 usually. The one juice I still buy (only because I haven't found a good clone recipe for it), is a 70pg/30 blend bourbon barrel steeped juice & it has a stronger throat hit. I'm not big on throat hit, I want more flavor, but this juice tastes soooo gooood, I'm willing to handle the TH.

Welcome Vic and Fitz!

Vic, I am an RY4 lover myself. You might try a small bottle of Flavor Art RY4 flavoring or Hangsen. Mix about 5-7% flavoring in your base and try it. Mix a small amount, let it steep 24 hrs, and taste. Adjust your amount of flavor for your next batch if needed. The Flavor Apprentice (TFA) also makes a decent RY4 flavor called RY4 Double. You can add more caramel and/or vanilla to any of these if you feel it would be better.

Fitz, don't sweat the ones you smoke. You will get there. Lots of good advice already given.

Hope you both stick around. Such a great group of people on both porches, and we always like new victims - er, friends [emoji38][emoji38]

I might try and get stuff with taxes this year and see how it goes. Maybe if i just do two liquids for myself it wont take up that much room. Thanks for the tip. I will look into this.
And you don't need to buy a kit to get started. Imo, they are over priced & you'll end up not using some of the stuff in them.

I thought of doing this, but the flavors that I don't like are JUST AWFUL!! Some of the juice I purchased has a horrible, plastic, chemical sort of taste. It's just terrible, and totally unvapable. I can't believe that anyone would vape this stuff. I am not going to name names, but some juice is just disgusting. I can't imagine that mixing it would make it any better. Ever experience this?
Yes. That is known here as PSS juice. (Patooie-Spit-Spit). I ordered one once that tasted just like Jergens Lotion smells. Stunk up everuthing it touched. Cleaned my atty, poured the juice down the sink, & cleaned the bottle intending to keep the bottle. Nope, the smell wouldn't come out of the bottle. Threw the capped bottle into the trash d had to carry the trash out & clean the sink & drain to get rid of the smell. The cleaning finally got the smell off of my hands, too. I'm more cautious shopping in the clearance juice sections online now.

Has dual battery bars. This stuff is just getting crazy. Called the Cuboid similar to a Graboid only hasn't come out with a movie yet. You've seen at least one of the Tremor movies right?

I personally only vape when I'm sitting down. Or standing up, or driving, or walking, or awake.
I figure any other time may be a bit harmful to my health, but not at those times.
Nicotine is a stimulant, anti-depressant, and cognitive enhancer. it helps keep you alert and focused, so is very good for my A.O.D (attention overload disorder) and has been used in trials to slow down and even stop alzheimer's. it reduces periodic depression and anxiety. The reason people seem to smoke is to relax. Then the tar and ash kills them.
Nicotine does not kill when vaped.

Don't worry about peer pressure. I don't buy much anymore myself. I still stay on the porches though.
speaking of new things... I have looked EVERYWHERE and finally found a nice friendly dragon to have for my very own. When it comes in, I think I will name him Fafner.

Hello everyone. This is my first time in any of the Porch threads. I usually just hang out in the Provape area. Most of the general forum seems to be people that want to blow clouds and use very high wattage. Makes me feel old and kinda out dated. I have been on ECF for a few years now. On and off that is. I found being here was hurting my wallet too much. lol
Hey, I've seen you on the ProVari threads! Welcome to the Old Folks threads!
Hello fellow middle aged vapers! I'm Fitz, I'm 64, smoked cigarettes since I was 13, and I have been vaping for 6 weeks. I feel like the elder stateman in the vape shops, but when the folks in the shops realize that I know what I'm talking about, we all get along just fine. I love the gear. Lots of new toys to play with, and that is great. . . . . Why I am still having an occasional cigarette I really don't know--something is driving me to it--perhaps it's remembering how wonderful it used to be, but If I can't go there again, that's a great thing, and I fell in the long run I will be able to put them down forever. Anyone else have these feelings?
The fun playing with new gear definitely helps to keep me interested. I wonder if that occasional cigarette is partly just to make sure. Or, maybe a little tiny bit of deep down rebellion. Either way, I'm sure you'll eventually just get tired of them and not bother anymore.

Welcome to the Old Folks threads!
This is true. I just wish i was not a chain vaper. I never put mine down. It does not matter the nic, i think it is all a hand to mouth thing so i had to lower the nic so i did not kill myself. lol i spend almost as much on liquid as i did on cigarettes. It is just sad.
Ooooh, that's too much money to spend on juice. Definitely need to DIY.

The best thing about DIY is having juice that's vapable! A lot of the junk out there is really nasty.

OK. Back to reading. Every time I finish a page, y'all have tacked on one or two more pages!

I get luer lock syringes at my local Tractor Supply. I put tape over the measuring markers to prevent them wearing off. Can get needles too - I clip the point off to make them blunty
I think I got all mine at RTS vapes. Since I make 100ml at a time I got a 60ml syringe really comes in handy no needle on it but you can get all your blunt tip needles there too.

DIY, my next thing to try. I have a fear of making my own though, not sure why.:?:
I was leary of it, too, but determined to cut my costs. About the only thing I really enjoy vaping is creamy, custardy, cakey flavors. Once I accepted that was where I was gonna be, it made the idea of diy easier. Same with building coils, I was tired of buying coils & knew I could eliminate that expense, & scratch juice & coils off my monthly shopping list. Once the start up expense is over it's all gravy after that. Now I buy one 90 ml bottle of one juice every 3 months for under $60. That's it except for future proofing with more devices, nic, pg/vg & flavors. Devices & nic take priority since that's what will be harder to get.

This is where I get uneasy I guess. I'd like to get the pre mixed nic juice, but I vape 65/35 pg/vg for the TH because my nic level is 3mg. Guess I would have to add in some pg.

I started with 36mg juice. Of course it was hard to get much of a vape off of anything that was available not like the stuff now. Nic has a taste I tried to go 0mg for a while but the juice just didn't taste right so I went back to 3mg and that where I've stayed. I do have a bottle of 12mg and I just put 4 or 5 drops into my STM on to the coil and that works for me.

For simplicity, you are going to make 30ml of juice with 100mg/ml nic in PG with flavors in PG at 65/35. Flavor is 20%. The recipe would be:

Nic 0.9ml
PG 12.6ml
VG 10.5ml
Flavor 6ml

That’s it. The calculator will do all the work for you; all you have to do is squint at the syringe in good light. Once in the bottle, shake the daylights out of it. Some flavors take a bit of steeping, other not much at all. As has been said, it's not rocket science but some people get quite taken with it and make complex recipes. Those take longer for the flavors to blend. I mostly vape blackberry (TFA) and usually only remember to make it the day before I run out. It's better after two days but one day isn't bad either. I'm just happy I vape and no longer smoke. :)

As things stand now, the most important thing to do is lay in a stock of nic. It may well be that it won't be available in the near future. The very near future.
