I could do that. Great idea!I have a pair of those I wrap with electrical tape so it doesn't damage what I am holding.
Now that just sucks.
I am just in the waiting room to see if the surgery is a success. Fingers crossed.
I tried that way, but I don't have much grip (pinch) power in my fingers. My hand grip is much better & the pliers gave me better torque (?) for turning the screwdriver. I even got a longer screwdriver so I'd have more torque. Some of those 510 pins do not want to move in either direction. DH has tools & the idea now, tho. She'll figure out how to get he grip she needs & line that thing up! Whoop! Girl power!
I agree, the 2 I had that were so hard to even unscrew at all worried me until I got them unscrewed, I was afraid that it was going to be stripped because it had been tightened so much at the factory. But they barely had any airflow at all. And the air holes wouldn't show at all without the positive block being too loose. So I took the pin all the way out & restarted it & they lined up & tightened up just fine.Something like that might be needed for taking it apart the first time, but you shouldn't put it back together that hard. No need. If you can't get the holes to line up, don't force it, you can break the screw. You can make a small spacer / washer from an old carto condom, or if you have an assortment of tiny O-rings...
Oh, and no matter what method you use to do the "surgery", DO start the screw into the positive block before clamping anything, to avoid stripping threads!
What vendor was it? We need to know who isn't safe to deal with.Oh the vendor that I was talking about answered my first email and informed me that I ordered more than they had left in stock but no suggested remedy. I emailed them back and asked for either a refund or to send me a replacement flavor of anything that they did have in stock (not picky) - that is when they decided to no longer acknowledge my emails...
Spent 5 minutes searching for the link. And, all I had to do was hit 'refresh' a couple times!
I hope all goes well. Please, let us know. May the stars align in your favor.I am just in the waiting room to see if the surgery is a success. Fingers crossed.
I need to wrap them with rubber! The base keeps slipping and shooting out of my grip!I have a pair of those I wrap with electrical tape so it doesn't damage what I am holding.
Give a girl a minute to catch her breathe. Between sleep (I got 8 hours last night. Yay!), work, clothes, and dishes, . . . Nope, not yet. It'll happen. So how are you progressing? Getting any of them to work?
She has to take the wire screw out of the positive block. Then she has to use the sliding plier to clamp onto the bottom of the base, as close to the 510 pin as possible with the bottom lip of the pliers, & put the top lip of the pliers on top of that positive block & squeeze hard to hold them together while she uses a screw driver to adjust the 510.
Use the pliers to grip both the moving positive post and the fixed in place negative post, holding them in perfect alignment. Then tighten the 510 screw.

I'm done for tonight. I think I may have fixed one (or close enough to do the job). I'm getting ready for bed now. After I find the piece of my KF that flew out of my grip. It's somewhere around here.Something like that might be needed for taking it apart the first time, but you shouldn't put it back together that hard. No need. You're welcome DH! Holler if you need help. Other than looking for that stray piece....I can't see there from here! What vendor was it? We need to know who isn't safe to deal with.
EcigCharleston didn't have enough of the right cartos to fill my order one time. They called me to ask if I'ld rather replace with something else or get a refund. Pretty good service!

Oh, that was cute! In my defense, I had assumed it had to do with his wife's recent injuries.Robert Cromwell was talking about the surgery YOU were doing! LOL! He was "sitting in the waiting room" waiting to see how it all came out.![]()

Sorry, Robert. And, thanks for the support. Surgery went ok, I think.

Itty bitty slip joint aka Channel lock pliers? Got mine at Sears Love em.I have two pairs of single slip-joint 5.75" pliers that I got somewhere. I wrapped the teeth with electrical tape, too. The reason I mentioned the size of the pliers is that I use, only, a carry-on bag when flying and any pair of pliers over 6" is a no-no. Checked baggage is good, though.
I actually got 4 pairs so my emergency kit in the car had 2 pairs. Sometimes getting parts separated just required two pairs. I wish I could remember where I got them.
