I am still trying to figure out WHY Temp control is supposed to be so much better than Wattage. Anyone care to clue me in on that one?

For me, it just gives a little more control over things. Also, it seems that I got longer performance out of a wick/coil setup with less maintenance. At least that's my two cents...
Well I haven't used NI200 in a long time. I prefer Ti but with the VTC mini, now I'm not sure on nickel, but with Ti I use a simple single coil 24 or 26 guage 6 wrap spaced and the mini along with other Jtech boards I have to run it between 480F 500F on a subtank mini. Ni is a lot lower resistance then Ti but if you decide to build your own coils the Temco Ti is excellent and easy to work with and to clean. I still haven't decided which I like better the 24 or 26. The 24 has a little smoother vape but it is a little harder to place with the STM. Have to back the screws out quite a ways and if you back it all the way out they are the pits to find if you drop them. The VTC I really like for a more inexpensive TC mod it works really good just have to turn it up more then with the SX. Nickel is a PITA to work with at least for me. If you decide to try Ti get 25' of 26awg from Temco about 5 bucks free shipping I think. I use a coilmaster and wrap a contact coil and stretch it but the Temco is the best I have used between Unkamen, Crazy Wire and Temco. Real soft for Ti. Different looking then any other also kind of a greyish white but smooth not rough like Unk.
Good to see ya, Sir! That is interesting in the quality on the different vendor wires. I've only used "K.Bee Vapor" Ti wire... I think I ordered it off of Amazon. It's been pretty good; shiny, but a touch coarse I think. You can actually see and feel little grooves in the wire. I've only used it on an Invader Mini and a Vaporesso Target mod (no idea what board they used). Neither of them have Ti modes so I've been running Ti in Nickel mode. It works, but the temp coefficients aren't correct so I have to set the temp lower. Anyway, I appreciate your views on what you've seen with it so far. I try to soak this stuff up like a sponge because everything in vaping is so subjective. I like to see what a lot of others are experiencing and then just kinda mash all that experience together.

@Legs thanks ever so much for demystifying the TC stuff for me. The thing arrived yesterday and I stuck one of the premade NI coils in it. Kaez had to straighten me out on the why it needed both a temp setting and a wattage setting because that made no sense at all on the face of it. Between the 2 of you I have a clue what I need to buy and how to wrap it. Not really done spaced coils but I am sure I can figure that out.TO clean the coil what about one of those little brush things they give kids for cleaning around braces? Look like miniature bottle brushes.
Those little brushes would probably work pretty good! I've never tried them, but now that you've mentioned them I may have to go pick up a little package of them at the store!
