I can be a bit slow at times, and this appears to be one of those times. Psychedelic Ostrich?o_O
Take a closer look at Iffy's avatar. Is it Snoopy in a tree waiting for vape Mail? Or, is it a psychedelic ostrich?

Thanks everyone. I am sitting here on my corner of the porch, crying at the moment but it is because I am happy to know that there really is a place for me here on the porches where I won't be judged harshly. I had been having some very bad days/weeks and had gotten so very tired. I am feeling a bit better today and it is thanks to all of the kind words all of y'all have shared with me.
Thank you Diver. I have been very remiss in sticking around on the porches and I vow to remedy that. I was actually here at the very beginning, when the porches were first built and through all of the remodeling. I think I wandered away from my roots and seemed to have lost my way. I am happy to be home.
Welcome home!

I very seldom wander off my list of subscribed threads. If it upsets you, unsubscribe! Most other threads either upset me or bore me. Plus, I'm too far behind the times to help people much. And, I'm very, very bad at debate. So, I stay in the cozy, comfortable places where I can feel safe.

Otherwise, I tend towards panic attacks.

Honestly I only ever saw Snoopy in a tree till just now. Now I'm having trouble not seeing the ostrich.

I hide my wallet, even plant El Whacko on top of it but you guys always find it. :grr:
Sometimes there's no temptation. Then sometimes it's so bad that I'm tempted to walk away from ECF for a while!
    And on a lighter note...
I was not satisfied with the vape stand I made...
It was a mash-up of someone else's Lighthouse and my Vape stand, so wasn't totally mine.
THIS is totally mine! Hand-painted and really nice, IMO:

and if you want to see the steps and some better pictures of just the stand, just check my photobucket.

Fantastic! The other one was wonderful. But, this one is even better.

    I want a 3D printer!

You never saw the Snoopy vulture cartoons?
What I meant was that the only thing I saw when I looked at Iffy's avatar was Snoopy in his vulture pose, ready to pounce. That's why I didn't understand the psychedelic ostrich reference.

But now that it has been pointed out to me that it looks like an ostrich, all I can see is the ostrich.

Ohhh! You changed it all around! I like this better! Good job, Ken! How long did it take to do?
well, Blender makes great landscapes, and I just needed to select out the part I wanted to use and turn it into a solid instead of a warped plane. That took about 45 min... Then about 30 min fixing bad geomerty.. which I find rather soothing.
Then building the little stairs took 4 hours!!! sheesh. stairs are not very easy to make. I restarted 3 times before I figured out how.
The lighthouse and attached home took all of 40 min.

Then join them together and export.
in the slicer program, each one varies and each printer uses a different one. Slicing for the printer took 6 min. Then put it on the printer and 6 hours later, you have the object made. One of a kind. None other like it unless you share the file out.

Painting it took 4 hours with dry times between layers, so all in all... not a bad weekend's worth of work.
Although I started on Wednesday and finished yesterday evening. Just working on the model in spare time.

... did you REALLY want to know how long it took?
    12 hours total.
Or no time at all, since I enjoyed the process. Kinda like any other craft really.

    ...

Fantastic! The other one was wonderful. But, this one is even better.

    I want a 3D printer!
this one is my next to come in... It will only print in ABS because there is no heated bed, but for less than $200, more than affordable.

Yay!!!! No matter where ya go, there are ones who will judge, as I said......ignoring them works great! I've got a lot of thick skin, so if ya ever need it, holler at me, I'll give ya some of mine!! Glad you're back hun! Now quick......someone glue her .... to the rocker!!!

Oh I love that!!!! Love how you did the rocks. This one looks much less cluttered, although I did like the staircase on the other one. But overall I like this one much better.

It's neat that about a month ago I was Tootling along with my Kabuki Tank and a couple of Aspire Tanks. No Sub Ohming tried it wasn't my thing. But now I'm up to speed and comfortably on track to staying Cig Free. Thanks for all of the quick info. SAVE! I'll still see ya around I've found it's the way to stay strong during those weak moments in life and help others while seeking your own strength.
    VAPE ON! And
    always enjoy the journey:):thumb:
the purple part needs some splainin mister!! I hope I'm just takin that wrong. Whaddya mean you'll still see us around??? Ya better see us around here everyday from now til the Lord returns!! hehehe

I enjoy having something really detailed to work on also. I get wrapped up & focused on it until it's completed.

All the detail sounds like fun. And, being able to actually create what's in your head!

Not that I have the money right now; but, the one you linked to isn't even ready for pre-order yet. I wonder how much it'll be once it's out and people have a chance to review it.

{{{mattiem}}} so happy to see you on the porch.

Mattie, every warrior needs a break to rest & recoup in order to beable to fight again. It's not good to require your mind & emotions to stay in constant battle ready mode. You don't want to get stuck like that, which is where ptsd comes from. Your entire being needs to rest occasionally. And you don't have to fight every battle. Choose wisely. Trolls are not in a serious arguement. They make deliberately provacative, carefully crafted, statements & throw them out as bait in a pool (forum) that's already known to be full of fish (emotionally invested vapers, voters, or whatever) & then proceed to reel in the ones that take the bait. Then, once they have your attention, they proceed to poke & push, & bully. All this is not because they necessarily believe or are at all invested in the subject being discussed. They do it for pure self satisfaction. Pure narcissistic hunger for attention of any kind. Those who agree, as well as those who disagree, & happily influencing those curious & just seeking to learn. They get everyone going & turning on each other & sit back & bask in the glow of mayhem. They have no vaping agenda even tho they probably do vapen since they found this place some way. They are just playing. It's a sport for them. A sport like the knock out game that ypu see on the news. Except none of it involves physical risk. No one can reach them to knock the crap out of them. Which is what they deserve. It's all mental & emotional. And for some it's devastating.
Recognize the troll. Do not engage or feed the troll. Point out the troll as a warning to others. Walk away, stop reading, get out of the pool, & do not engage no matter how much you want to. Report them so that the Moderators can observe what's going on & act if needed. There is no winning an arguement with a troll. They just keep dragging you back into their crazy.
Please stay here with us a bit & recoup & heal. These are not battles, they are traps. If you go from trap to trap you get pretty chewed up & gain nothing for anything or anyone. Then you can't help the ones who truely need it. That's just sad for everyone that sees it. And those threads remain on the ECF forums & newbies come in & read them & walk away. Not just from ECF, but from vaping too. Who wants to hear how great a community is, & get there only to find a battlefield?
So many vapers on ECF love, & respect you, Mattie. You are a great advocate & educator & the vaping community needs more like you. Stay, heal, & live to get back to a place where you can continue to do what you do so well. BTW, the only way to win against a troll is to not bite. they hate to be ignored.

    Well said.

I love the details! I know what you mean about creativity and getting lost in your creation so time? Who cares! When I get inspired and have the time to tool a leather picture, I just get lost, spend hours just perfecting details, an enjoy every minute. Nice work Ken, I look forward to the next one!

Nice to see Mattie back here :) She really needed your guys' love :)

Sometimes things get to be too much, out in the battlefield, then it is nice to go to those threads (like this one) where you can just regroup and not worry about any battles going on.

I have a couple that I keep in my back pocket for when I need to just have normal conversation.

As a moderator, sometimes if feels like I have a split personality  I can put on the moderator hat for those types of threads, then pop over to another thread and just get a bit crazy ;)

Mattie, always remember to come back to this thread when you feel a bit overwhelmed. You can find your center here

I know I am not a regular thread goer. I do lurk a bit at times..... you know...... when things get a bit much elsewhere in the forum. It's nice to just read the friendship and love in these pages.

    You guys rock!

No I'm not leaving all together just getting back to a more normal schedule of activities. I'll still be around just not as much
