wonderful article!! They only mentioned that not too many studies had been done on the safety of vaping, but I loved the part where it said the only thing nicotine had been been proven wildly UN successful at, was the one thing it IS FDA approved for........quitting smoking!! Now if they could just hitch that up with how successful vaping is for quitting, and get some real well respected studies done on the safety of it, we might have something. I don't want much do I?? lol

@Kenna
This is inside of my V4, the sled is re-purposed form another device and has been trimmed a little. You can see the slot where the contact slides into, where the hole is in the back of this sled, just put a little glue right there and slide your contact back in and let it dry.

Be like new :)

Ok, I put a little Gorilla glue between the contact & the sled h held it there a couple of minutes. Then stuck a battery in it to keep pressure on it while it finishes drying. I'll check it in a bit to see if the battery is still draining while off.

Thanks for posting this, Mike. DH's oldest brother was severely schizophrenic; he was diagnosed at 23 and ultimately had to live in a group home with full time medical care. We hated that he smoked (like a chimney!), but saw a direct correlation between his smoking and his ability to function with a modicum of rational thought. Now I understand: it was the nicotine. How sad it is that scientists are apparently dissuaded from researching the benefits of nicotine -- or, having researched, from having findings accepted by the (un)educated masses.

I hope it is not something with the board that is draining the battery.
Well it immediately started draining the battery. Visibly down in in just 30 minutes. It's gonna have to go for repair. That connector could have shorted the board. It's literally like it's on & being fired non stop, but the battery isn't getting warm or anything.

phooey, sure was hopin that would work. Good it's not getting warm, but just a thought, have you tried a different battery in this one? I assume you have, cuz I think you said you change the batteries instead of using the charge port

I remember that the DNA40's have had some battery indicator problems and some are showing low. Do you have a volt meter or can you confirm it in another device? If it was drawing that fast I would expect some heat from the cell. Also at rest a battery gauge on a dna will show low until you take a drag, but usually that takes awhile to happen. It show's expected life of the cell after delivering power, not actually what the level is. Then after time it will drop even all the way to near zero until you take a puff. Why they did it that way I do not know.

No voltage tester, but it reads empty & won't fire. It has low votage protection.
I took the battery out.

Thats good. I was just worried that if it was draining the battery that fast that whatever is wrong with the mod could continue to drain it past the safe level.

Sorry for your issue I know how I would feel if mine took a dive :(

I have another one! And a dna 30 that I killed (moment of silence, please) about a month or so after I got it by putting a battery in backwards. There was no reverse protection on the dna 30's. Need to send it in & get it upgraded to the dna 40.

I want to get another one but the smaller one next time with the trap door for the battery. I see em for 79 bucks and that is not bad I do not think. Although they just announced the DNA75 so it maybe even cheaper for a DNA40 soon.

79 is about as low as I've seen any of them. Even blems.

Good morning! Has anyone used the Kanger SSOCC's? How do they differ from the vertical OCC's? I'm asking because the Kangaroo (an after market thingy -- quasi atty, sorta kinda) for the BilletBox can use SSOCC's. I haven't tried them, yet, but they seem to be readily available and are rebuildable. Thanks for your insight :).
