Let me add my welcome, @Von Vape! Someone will be along to explain how the rockers are laid out, and someone else will warn you about the hammocks, and everyone will tell you to sit and chat for a spell... Which leaves it to me to deliver our one and only warning: Watch yer wallet; we're in the gifted and talented program when it comes to spending other folks' money!

As a new to DIYing Kat, I find this to be a VERY HELPFUL tip and one that makes perfect sense! One can always dilute with a properly ratio'd "Clear/Clean" but if you were to ADD a drop or two of this or that (flavor only) it would throw ALL of the other ratios off. Thank you bigbells!!! I'm pickin' up what you're layin' down!

Had to go do some things and stuff but WOW! Hi ALL!

I had no idea there were so many nice folks here on the front porch! (I really have to get out more, lol!)

I read this and thought, "TOO MUCH JUICE!!! Is that even possible??? Then I read the 100 ml. turned into 400 ml. and understood COMPLETELY! ;) That's what I call stocking up for a rainy day! I can also see where and why you had "a premonition" on the other flavors!!! Jalapeno!!! Ya, there's one to DEFINITELY start off lightly with!!!

Not to "horn in" on the thread, which looks like a pretty much coffee & tea extracting, which is kewl all by itself, but.........

So, to comment on that, :D :D :D maybe WAY TOO LATE :confused:......
Nearly a 50 year stink sucker for both my wife and I, quit a half dozen times all kinds of ways, always went back to 'em, even tried early cig a like devices (we all know the shortcomings of those) never any "real" health concerns or "issues", finally just got too dog gone expensive and modern technology FINALLY resolved old 'issues". It was a "perfect storm" of circumstances that pulled us away from "the dark side of the force". We are SO FREAKIN' GLAD IT DID!!! Our official "Vape A Verssary" is Valentine's Day of this year, though we had cut down to just a few and then one or two a day since New Yea's Day, using more modern cig a likes until we "wised up" and tried REALLY MODERN devices (Kangertech Subvods) beginning the first of Valentine's week. LIS, I can't tell you how happy we are! GREAT (store bought) flavors, a sense of smell, a sense of taste, breathing easier, more energy, more time to do things since we aren't tied to an ashtray or having to finish a cigarette once it's lit, so as not to "waste" it (@ $12 a pack!!!)
[That's one of the things I found ironic about them getting so expensive. I was under the impression the gov. was trying to "encourage" us to quit (supposedly for our own health's sake) through "Behavior Modification Taxes" (Don't kid yourself, that's what they are! "We want you to behave "this way" so we're gonna hit you in the wallet until you do!"). The thing is, the more expensive they got, the more compelled I was to "wring every last cent out of each and every one". Once it was lit, I sucked on that darned thing until it was GONE. I didn't get up and do something, I didn't lay it in the ashtray for more than a couple of seconds, that would be money just going up in smoke! I/we were actually smoking MORE and doing MUCH MORE harm to our health than if they weren't as expensive as they've become! GO FIGURE!!!]
we're also not replacing "the habit" with eating since vaping mimics the tactile routine AND there ARE so many GREAT flavors out there, thereby shedding a few extra unwanted pounds in the process! Talk about a WIN, WIN!!! I suppose you could say it's a QUADRUPLE WIN!!!

The DIY portion of this journey is a response to the availability & consistency of commercial juices here, in Alaska. The cost savings is nothing to snivel at either ;)!

And to Debadoo I actually resemble your avatar more closely than mine, IRL    (LOL). I just dig "Creapy Clowns" ;).

My apologies for running on. Thanks for having me! I now return this thread to it's rightful subject ;) :) :D

CHEERS!
 Von Vape
That is awesome! Good for you both for continuing to try till you quit! Whoop!

Some people want instant satisfaction and if they can't or won't put up with a little trial and error, it is your fault!

Hey, I represent that remark! xxrotflmao.gif

New mod arrived today

iB9suqr.jpg
Nice!!!

yeah a lot of what we had, wasn't that great.
But we made due and got by with it.

hehehe that's as good as it gits, and several folks had explained it but I didn't see the point behind the 2, so it made no sense. I think it was Mike that finally got it through my muddled mind.

I did when I had my own house.....but the only money in it was loose change I'd find. I'm nosy (betchya didn't know that  ) what's in the rust colored boxes???

You can use most any coils (ohms) or tanks on them. Keep it in VV mode rather than VW mode (most will do this). To start, like I said....add 2 to your ohms, then subtract .2 1.8 ohm coil + 2 = 3.8 minus .2 = 3.6 if it's too much turn it down, if it's too weak turn it up til it tastes good. this will help also........if it can't be read, can someone please blow it up for me. I used to have a great link to it, but can't find it now. Stay in the green area, and you're fine The resistance number down the left side is the ohms of your coil..... the colored numbers going across is how low or high you can vape that coil in volts. So find the 2.2 ohm coil down the left side, go across that line, and you can safely vape it between 4.09 and 8.40 volts with the best part being in the dark green area for most folks, but your best spot might be in the light green area.
dl.smokers-angel-ohms-chart.jpg

hehehe love it!!
Great chart, I have it saved.

Well I can't say it now that you've said that's what I'll say!

So, I have to think of something else to say. Let's see... uh... OK, here goes:
The joose made with FA Vanilla Classic tastes different than the drink test. It's more complex and not as sweet. I'm thinking that MAYBE, some vanilla is used in a lot of vendor e-liquids.

The next new-to-me flavoring that I'll try is the FA Custard that came in my order yesterday, but I have no idea how long that will be from now. This morning's mix was the first time I've made new joose in 6 months, but in that time I put a serious dent in the many bottles of DIY joose that I already had on hand.
I'm also waiting. I love vanillas, custards, and creams.

Welcome to the porches, Von Vape. Just jump in when you want. You will find that there will be three or four conversations going on at any one time. As you have already discovered there is a great group of on the porches and we are here to help all that ask and even when not ask. LOL

Wow. That went downhill fast! Thinking he's just trolling & niccing out. Bet he's hitting that Mini like it was a sub tank. I never could use the 1.8 coils over about 9.5 highest. My juices are sweeter & higher watts just fried them.

LOL!!! Not with the particular usage of vocabulary that was rattlin' around in my head... I went straight back to shipboard days! And with that in mind, I think it best to not raise the ire of our most beloved staff members. ;)

Besides, the post would probably end up rather unreadable... it'd be like this:
You ........ ........., what ......... ....... ......... the ....... was .......... up ...... ...?!?[emoji38]
So worse than rip off his head & puke down his neck? Or poke out his eyes & skull ... his head? Or wrap his tongue around your fist & beat him with it? Gotta get more creative, Kazz! [emoji41]

I bought some tiny RDAs for testing juice. They have itty bitty airholes. I only own 1 RDA, so I know nothing about the proper size to drill the holes. I'm pretty much a tootle puffer and like a medium draw. Not airy, not tight.

Any advice on drill bit size?
Stick with one just a notch above the hole that's there.

@Vape?

I'm hoping you were able to watch the YouTube vid I posted and that it made sense. I'm feeling like we're making this more complicated than it needs to be. Here's my take - after which I'll shut up! :)

1. What is required to vape.
A. Mod (also called a battery. I'm going to call it a mod.)
B. Atomizer (also called a tank)
C. Coil
D. E-juice

2. Mods
A. Mods are "regulated" or "unregulated." Regulated mods have built-in safety mechanisms. So do some unregulated mods, but we're going to ignore those, for now.
B. Regulated mods are either "static" power or "variable" power. Some static mods, like the one you have, are variable, but they don't really let the user control the power. We're going to ignore those, for now.
C. Variable mods (these are all regulated) can vary the volts, the watts, or both. Variable wattage (VW) and variable voltage (VV) are similar, from a user's perspective. However, most new vapers find variable wattage (VW) easier to work with. We're going to focus on VW mods.
D. Some mods use an onboard battery - the battery is built in to the mod. These are charged through a USB or equivalent. Other mods use a separate battery that gets charged in the mod, through a USB or outside of the mod, on a charger. There are pros and cons to each. They don't matter, right now.

3. Atomizers, or tanks, hold juice and a coil. When the mod is fired, the coil heats up the juice and produces vapor.
A. There are many atomizers. Some are made from Pyrex, others from plastic, and others from metal.
B. Atomizers come in various sizes. This is personal preference. Some folks want a large tank so they don't have to fill it as often; other folks prefer a smaller tank.
C. Atomizers use pre-made coils, also called "stock coils," or use coils that you have to build yourself. We're focusing on stock coils, because they are easiest.

4. Coils
A. Coils are basically one or more wires with wicking to hold juice. The wires are coiled - hence, the name- in various sizes and with various kinds of wire.
B. The longer the wire, the higher the resistance.
C. Resistance is measured in ohms. I'm not going to try to explain that, now.
D. Coil resistance is typically referred to as sub ohm (resistance under 1 ohm) or higher ohm (resistance is between 1.0 and 2.0 ohms).
E. The most relevant distinctions between sub ohm and higher ohm coils are these:
i. Sub ohm coils require more power to heat up and produce vapor.
ii. Sub ohm coils produce more vapor (clouds).
iii. Sub ohm coils lend themselves to "direct lung" vaping.
iv. Higher ohm coils require less power, produce smaller clouds, and lend themselves to "mouth to lung" vaping.
v. Many people think higher ohm coils produce better flavor. This is a matter of opinion; it is personal preference.

This post is too long, already. I'm going to start another one :).

 Newp the days of blue fish foam in atties are long gone (I hope)
Nope. I have a Prometey clone that uses fish tank filter. That thing holds LOTS of juice & wicks great, which is good because I hate dripping every few puffs. I can vape a really long time before having to refill. And the filter can be washed & reused.

I received 3 today. Decided to throw one on my last cart as well. I usually test out 3-5 flavors at a time. I think they are going to be great :)
They are perfect for flavor testing! That airflow on it stinksn tho. Let us know how the drilling goes!

I prolly shoulda, but I didn't. Had to edit the c---- out of my first attempt at a response. It was NOT nice!
Lol, I can't even picture you as not nice!

That reminds me that I need to put out the red steroid warning flags. I have an infusion on the 27th. Thank goodness I'll be getting triple puppy snuggles 2 days later for 11 days! And a pool! And three puppys! Whoop!

Oh, good guess. Mine was going to be baby bigfoot until I saw your post.[emoji38]
Okay, outta here for Dad's 93rd birthday (that translates to a dire warning that I'll be on that bloody laptop for a week).
Happy birthday to Daddy Tutu! Hugs for the Tutu Mom!
