Thanks Kenna and LittleBird. Seems it might be simpler to go back to Plan A and get the nic in 100-percent PG and go from there. And, Wizard is where I plan to buy flavorings in sample sizes. I know they also have syringes and other things.

I know I'll need lots of advice about flavorings and such, but just one quick question: I know I like caramels, creams, banana, orange and probably most fruit tastes. Strawberry is my favorite right now in several different combinations. Is there a particular flavoring from Wizard that you guys like in the tastes that I mentioned?
Capella's Sweet Strawberry, & TFA Strawberry are both really good. You'll see a lot of recipes using those together. Or TFA Strawberry Ripe, & Flavor West's Strawberry together. Those are the ones I'd recommend to start for Strawberries.

Let's see, we have LittleBird, Roto, Kenna, and Dancing left behind. Who else? We need to have a commiseration party! Might as well make the most of it.

Sounds like a zip lock for a backup barrier is in order! My kayfun holds 4.5ml, so I just fill it before I leave the house. I only carry extra juice if I know I'll be out for the whole day.
 Such a simple solution and I never thought of it. Thanks, Dave! I have to have that extra bottle with me.

I carry two devices and always top them off. I do carry a small 5ml bottle of juice. It stays in a little outside zipper on my purse. I've never had to use it.

I'm thinking 100mg nic just to get more bang for the buck. Thoughts?
100mg is the way to go!

I'll be here too.

What nic strength do you vape?

If you use 100 mg/ml nic in PG and make your juice to 70VG/30PG, then only 30% of your juice can be PG (including nicotine and flavoring). So, if 10% flavoring, then 20% PG (MAX 20 mg/ml). And, if 20% flavoring, then 10 PG (MAX 10 mg/ml).

Now if you're making your juice 50/50, your tolerances won't be so close.

Regarding syringes, I agree about the 1 ml syringe. I use 1, 3, and 5 ml syringes.

What about larger quantities? I use graduated cylinders. I have 10, 25, and 100 ml sizes, using mostly the 25 ml graduated cylinder.

And what's your target nic level?
Probably 18-21. I'm moving down from 24 (only quit cigs a couple months ago) so I'm kind of alternating between 18 and 21. I can do 18 but find I wind up vaping more, especially the more tasty juices. I'm trying to be mindful of what the lady at my local shop told me: Don't worry about cutting nicotine right now. Concentrate on doing whatever it takes to staff off the cigarettes. Wise words, I think.

Thanks. I'm going to try 50-50 PG/VG, but I've never tried it before. Have always vaped 70/30 VG and might wind up doing that. If I have to vary the percentages a bit, I don't think I'll have a problem living with it. I do have a cart set at Wizard Labs with more syringes and a 100ml graduated cylinder. Can easily add a 25ml and a 10. Right now everything I have in the cart comes to $17. The cart is waiting on sample juice decisions.

As you are further away from cigs your body will tell you when to reduce your nic. I started at 24, after several months it just felt like "too much" somehow. I was already aware that I wasn't vaping as much as I had been in the beginning. Hard to describe, but it just felt like each puff was too much. So I reduced my nic to 18 & that feeling stopped. I didn't vape more after the cut, or have cravings. A couple of months later I just decided to drop to 12. No go. I immediately started chain vaping. When that didn't stop after 2 weeks I went back to 18mg, & have stayed there about a year now. I've begun mixing at 16mg as I make new juice, so I'm etween 16 &18mg. I'm not concerned about lowering my nic really. Other than to make it last as long as I can.

The paper towel caught most of it, but I've had my purse drying out for two days. It smells like strawberry.

Dat's only one reason I don't carry a purse; unless it's my bride's. Nonetheless, if I do take a refill joose bottle out & 'bout, a Zip-Lok fer moi in da transport vehicle is mandatory.

As a side note, wouldn't mind smelling like strawberries...

MAD, sage advice, indeed! Da nic level is da key, along with a satisfactory flav. IMHO, PG/VG ratios are almost an afterthought (allergies notwithstanding).

Best o' luck to ya! Just keep us posted as to your venture, experiments and satisfaction or lack thereof!

With the problems with my van, I don't think I will make it down to visit on Sunday. Don't trust driving 2+ hours with a funky engine. I has a sad, once again, so close but yet so far....

Just an example for mixing using 50vg/50pg 100 mg/ml of nic base.

50/50 100mg nic .. 8 ml
100%PG ............. 8 ml
100%VG ............ 16 ml
Flavor#1 ............ 4 ml
Flavor#2 ............ 4 ml

This will make 40 ml of 20 mg/ml nic juice at 15% flavoring.

The example is 4 ml each of two flavors, you could use just 1 flavor or 3 or 4 flavors just make sure the total ml of flavoring comes to ~8 ml.

Or if you use less than 8 ml total of flavoring add 'the difference' as 100%PG. That is if you use only 6 ml of flavoring then add 10 ml of 100%PG.

Disclaimer: I think I did the math correctly.

Definitely.

And even "just" 500 ml is going to make, oh, over 1 /2 LIters of vape, I'd recommend getting it in PG.

Something like ejuicemeup makes the calculations simple - plug in your start and end values for nic, % PG and %VG, % each flavor, enter, done.

Does it work on a Mac? I've had trouble finding it for some reason even though I did find it and played around with it a couple weeks ago.
