Here's another view on Diacetyl. Qorax is pretty active around ECF.

That's not a view that's very much different from my own. Qorax is basically addressing those who say that vaping is just as dangerous as smoking. None of us are in that boat.

However, after watching the entire video, I'm a little less frightened of flavors that contain diacetyl and a lot less frightened of flavors that MIGHT contain diacetyl. Thanks! I guess I'll go ahead and vape that yummy Flavor West Butter Rum flavor.

I can't even bring myself to respond to that thread... the mood I'm in right now, I'd just wanna smack him and I'd really rather not piss off Classy or Robin today...

Yep... definitely best that I hold my tongue... ;)

Thanks, Debi... really wish that I could, but since I took Thursday and Friday off from work I've got quite a bit of catching up to do here as well... why can't I get paid to hang out on da porch?
Just read the post I agree very hard to hold my tongue

I'm back, can't make a lick of sense out of the machines that have settings. I don't understand basic electrical info enough. If I got a vw machine, how in the world do I know what coils, tanks, settings to use? I'd have to get a starter kit that has all the bits already sorted and be told what and how to set it. This is my problem, nd I've got to be able to use it safely. I'll keep looking on you tube, find a vendor in Au, hopefully, that will either take the time to explain it, or has a video that tells me how to set it. There are so many abbreviations that just go over my head. It's really getting back to the point of needing someone to tell me exactly what to buy, and how to use it. The simple tube shaped jobs that have a press and draw button would be okay, if they gave out enough vapor easily. I'd happily take straight out suggestions for the starter kit (all inclusive) for dummies. It has to have a wall charger. Our outlets are different, so I have a US adapter. I'm not even going to attempt the most basic diy, without an overseer. I truly don't know where to begin. Are any of those simple ones designed for lots of airy vapor? Or any vw machines that tell you what settings to use in the manual?
The ego one has worked good for me with the 1.5 ohm coil tank has adjustable air flow

I agree that TFA Black Honey Tobacco is a very good flavor. I haven't used it in a good while but it's the best tobacco flavor I've ever used. Menthol tobacco is all I used when I started vaping. I was fearful of trying anything that didn't resemble, at least in name, the Newport cigs that I'd been chain-smoking for decades.
Yup its just great.

@medleypat , don't believe I have seen ya around these parts before. Welcome!!! You found one of the best threads on ECF (the other is the Back Porch, Older Folks and Vaping Back Porch - Part Five).

Pull up a chair, sit on the floor, grab a vape and tell us about yourself. Several key members are of on an adventure get together this week, but I am sure they will chime in when they can!

Hi, @medleypat! Welcome to the Porches! Have a seat, take a vape, relax, & tell us your story! You've found a great place here! Kinda quiet at the moment, since today is travel day for a bunch of our members that are enroute to spend a week in Florida together.

Isn't it? That coil style just caught my eye and now I just really want to give it a try. The tank itself is kind of a genny style, but I think I'd like to try the coil in an RDA. I haven't seen the SX Pure yet, so I'll have to go look it up. I made up a mix for a guy here at work that was a Peanut Butter Custard with a touch of TFA RY4 Double... apparently that fixed his craving.

Thanks! I'll have to put one in my cart for my next order. Might even just pick up another plastic replacement tank if they still have them over there. I don't vape many tank-crackers anyway... I think I cracked this one because it's a coupla years old and just got abused a bit too much. ;)
No it's not out yet. The IPV Pure is out but have heard mixed things about it like leaking. I see the SX Q is on preorder at Varitube. Same price as the others 200 samolians. Which isn't a surprise but it has the new sx450 board and 200w under the right conditions. 2 18650's. It is a cool looking mod, a little larger then the others. I had planned on getting one when they came out but IDK will wait and see how the reviews go. The SX Pure was supposed to be out by now but maybe they are reading the reviews on the IPV one and making some changes. I'm not sure the reasoning making it so it will only work on a couple mods. The TCR might be so low that it won't work on others. I think the Q will work down to .00001 why IDK that either. The only wire that is available that even comes close to that is Kanthal and it won't work with TC. The higher the TCR the better it works on TC. Ti I believe is .00366 and nickel is .00608 Kanthal is .00002

Omg, unbeknownst to me, my husband, in his worry that I might go back to smoking, ordered 3, count em, extra starter kits from vaporfi. All sub ohm, all non adjustable. And so long ago, that I can't return them. So for the next year at least, I guess I'm using vaporfi vice and edge machines. I talked to vaporfi, the only useful, if too late advice she had, was not to overcharge the battery as that could be casing a hot connection. Says they are sensitive to charging habits. .?? The thing itself doesn't show when it's fully charged, So I'll have to go by the clock and suggested times. I've probably damaged the 2 I'm using, I've not been worried about charging time, thought it would auto stop once fully charged. He's easily spent over 500$ au, and I can't really justify buying another until these are worn out. Hopefully, the bit of knowledge I've absorbed, and finding juice I like will keep me going. Good news is I REALLY don't want to smoke. Don't know how to post photos, but when he showed me my backup drawer of vaporfi stuff, I could have fallen over. He's an angel making sure I don't run out, but like me, doesn't have a clue about equipment. Oh dear. Send up a prayer that I don't blow myself up in my ignorance. So I'll just keep going and no point worrying. I've got what I've got. Simple to use, yes, to understand, not so much.
At lest for now will give you time to read more and maybe get a lot more knowledge. I've learned a lot from reading these forums.

Oh good, ok, I'll get there. New kit and liquids will hopefully get me back to enjoying this again, and out of the worry zone that vaporfi products have left me in. I realise you are all real hobbyists and diy users, I'm always going to be in the pre made aisle. So really appreciate the help.
Not all of us are hobbyists I am like you. Most people here started this "hobby" for the same reason you did to quit smoking the hobby part comes later.

Quite so!

Partly it is a desire to be self-sufficient. Since it's not quite a simple as stepping into a store and getting a pack of your favorite brand, or a close approximation of a tobacco tasting tobacco product, this pernicious disease starts out with the reasonable desire to have spares, backups and backups for those.

Progression from there can vary.

Some decide to start rebuilding their blister pack coils, so as to not be dependent on the mail order delivery. They may or may not devolve from there to true rebuildable tanks, and another downward spiral begins for them.

Others embark on a journey into a mysterious ocean of liquids, handled only in sterile laboratory kitchens.... either to brew their own mad concoctions or to try to replicate such arcane fluids as Unicorn Milk...

And, alas, so many fall prey to both.

And those of us who've been vaping for a while have watched as more and more States and local governments (and health departments! ) have severely limited and otherwise threatened the industry. Not to mention whatever and whenever the FDA comes in on it, so the self-reliance on the important things, well, gains importance.

I enjoyed the process of smoking, I now enjoy the process of vaping. Just doing what I can so I never have to go back to the former!
