You're doing fantastic considering you haven't even found an ADV (all day vape) juice yet!

I was also a menthol smoker and was lucky enough to find a decent menthol right off the bat (DFW Vapor's regular menthol). But, it wasn't until I stumbled onto their Caramel Macchiato that I fell in love with vaping. I never would have even thought of trying a coffee-type flavor. So, I was so very lucky that my brother bought some to try and let me taste it.

That's all I vaped for many months. I had lots of other juice. But, Caramel Macchiato was so good that I just couldn't put it down!

I'm not the only menthol smoker that ended up having a totally different ADV. It's very common. Try lots of different types of flavors. You will stumble upon something wonderful that will surprise you. And, it very likely will not be menthol.
Also true!

Welcome to the Porches, Medleypat! One less + one less + one less ultimately gets you to none at all, and how great is that?!

I started with a tobacco vape, and failed miserably. It didn't taste at all like what I smoked. In fact, my reaction was PSS! (Patooey! Spit! Spit!) When the folks at my local vape shop introduced me to bakery flavors, it was a game on. :) As Ken said, perhaps try several non-tobacco flavors. Do you have a vape store nearby?
Lol! Soooo true!

Yes there is one close but doesn't have a good tasting bar. Have tried other juice but still crave menthol just don't like a strong one or one that taste like candy found a couple that aren't bad but not prefect. Not really looking for one just like a CIG but with the mild menthol like a CIG. One of my concern is I'm visionly impaired and try to make it on disability so if I buy a juice I hate can't afford to to throw it out plus that's money I can use to buy juice I like. Saving whatever extra money I can to buy a dig kit so I can make my own. That brings me to a small rant some people on here seem to really push rebuilding coils but some people can't. I have a subtank with the rebuild able head and have looked at it and there is no way I can do it way too small not rally a big problem for me because I wah my coils in vodka then water or just water depending on why I changed them and so far only had three that didn't work. Just brought this up so when new people ask about what to buy everyone can keep that in mind not everyone can rebuild.
I completly understand that! My vision is good enough to rebuild. My hands are an issue. I was able to find tools that work the right way to make it possible. Is a magnifier an option?

Hello everyone just a little about myself only been gaping about seven months now was doing better good for awhile went a month without a CIG then gaping was working as good so starting doing both again got up to about 3/4 pack a day decide to figure something's out. Have been reading different theards on here for about 5months just casually but never joined but really started reading and studying to figure things out. Read a lot of new member stuff then went to tools puffer threads. Finished them then went looking for more and wondered in here and been enjoying it very much. Bought some new topps and started figuring things out and headed in the right direction down to 4 or 5 cigs a day so much better still trying to find the right juice and nic level. I smoke mentol cigs so finding the right mentol taste has been hsrd. I think most juice makers never smoked a mentol CIG. In a couple of months will have the money for a diy kit so will be asking a lot of questions
It sounds like you are doing what is right for you. When I first started vaping I had one of the eGo starter kits. I duel vaped for a while and decided that I just couldn't give up the stinkies. I let the vaping gear just sit on my table top for over a year and would pull it out and vape a little. I think it was the original bottle of juice as it was almost black. I don't even know what level the nic was.
Finally, tired of spending over $50 a week on stinkies, smelling like an ashtray and a host of other things centered around smoking I went to the local Vapor Hut. I sat down at the tasting bar and started talking to the customer service rep. I explained my concerns and past attempts and failures. Michael listened to me and then started having me try different flavors. I didn't find any I liked. He then started showing me different mods and toppers. Anyway, I wound up going home with an itaste VTR with a couple extra coils. He also gave me a 20ml bottle of unflavored juice with 24mg of nic. I really liked the unflavored juice and was very happy with the VTR. This was 2 or 3 weeks before my 61st birthday. Right off the top I cut down on the number of cigs I was smoking and was vaping more. I was so confident on the vaping that I set my birthday as the date to quit smoking.
I continued vaping unflavored juice for a couple months and on one of my trips to get more juice Michael talked me into trying a little Vanilla flavoring and I was totally hooked. On my 62nd birthday this last February, I also celebrated 1-year smoke-free. Please forgive my rambling. My whole reason for this rant is that for me having the right gear and the proper level of nic were some of the reasons for my success. Well, also having a sales rep with good knowledge and this forum were also very instrumental.

The right info is key to getting the rest of it right. All my info came thru You Tube, & later on here.

I agree. Having help is so important. Even if it's just reading (ECF) and searching online. I did try the cig-a-likes years ago and they didn't do anything for me. I put them away pretty quickly. I tried patches (I had burned patches all over my skin) and Nicorette gum. (aggravated my TMJ and upset my stomach) Back to smoking for me.

Fast forward to February 2014, I wanted to try again. I knew nothing about anything other than cig-a-likes. I was going to give them a go again and was trying to decide what I wanted to order. My hubby saw a guy he works with using an ego type device and told me about it. I didn't want one of those huge things. *giggle* I wanted something smoke-sized.

I decided to look those up anyway and see what they were about. I wanted to get something local, so I e-mailed local vape shops, but I was looking for one of those cheeeap ego-styled kits. Thank God no one had one. I decided to go to the local Stormy's Vapor Cellar. The very helpful sales associate explained the Egos to me. He gave me a testing battery and sent me to the juice bar to try things out. I couldn't believe how much better they were than those cig-a-likes. I found a tobacco flavored and a Mountain Dew juice.

I spent almost $100 and came out with a battery, charger, two clearomizers and two 10ml bottles of juice. I hate that I spent that much on that setup, but I'm so thankful I did! I smoked a few cigs before going to Stormy's and a few after I got home- 6 that day. My first full day with the vape, I vaped all day. Just before bed, I decided to have a smoke. It was horrible! It burned my tongue and tasted horrid! Let me add in here that I did not pressure myself ONE BIT to quit smoking immediately. I PLANNED to smoke and vape for a month, cutting down slowly.

But I was done with smoking!!!! Of course I had cravings, but I remembered how awful that cig was. I did vape in my home (didn't smoke in there) but I would still run out during commercials and vape. I would chain vape through cravings. I would vape when arriving somewhere from my truck to the store, just like I smoked. I bought a lanyard and kept my vape hung around my neck at all times. I made a list of all the reasons I wanted to quit smoking and would read it when I was down. I had been reading here a few days and created my account.

It's been over 2 years now and I love that I don't stink. I love that I don't wheeze myself to sleep every night. My husband is so happy. My kids and Grandkids are proud of me. I've upgraded my equipment, wrap my coils and make my own juice. Vape Life Is Good!

If not for the courage of the fearless crew...oh wait, wrong story. If not for the support and help of my hubby, (who was never a smoker) the helpful folks at Stomy's and ECF, I would not be where I am today :)

Yea noticing cigs not tasting right and also noticing different tops and mods change the flavour. I think part of my problem was when I first started I chained vaped so was fine with 6 now I give it little breaks so wasn't getting enough nic up it and seems to be helping. Now just need to find right flavor profile and would be good. Getting real close.

One reason for chain vaping is a nic level that is too low to take the place of a cig. Raise your nic level & the chain vaping will go away if you are using a a tank style atty. If you are dripping, or subohming, then the lower nic works fine because those devices vaporize more juice per hit & at higher watts. Tanks using lower watts vaporize less juice per hit so you get less nic per hit.

What devices are you using, & why 6mg nic?

Flavors you like will continue to change, as your taste buds return.
Give it some time. It usually takes about 3 months, before they settle in.
Welcome to the forum :p

Lol! I've been vaping for 18 months & only recently been able to vape some fruits! I've had about 4 taste changes, & with each one I've been able to add another flavor. Which really makes me deliriously happy! I hope it continues!

An entertaining video with parts of 3 different quad copter flights yesterday. Most of it is sped up to either 2x or 4x actual speed. Music: Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer.

What software do you use to do your video editing!

It's been over 2 years now and I love that I don't stink.
So good to hear about your success, congrats!

Getting real close.
Glad to hear you are getting close. Like others have said, count the ones you haven't had. Keep up the good work.

Windows Movie Maker. I don't remember if it is included in Windows automatically, but if not, it's a free add-on. I have more sophisticated video-editing software that I never use. If and when you want help with Windows Movie Maker let me know. It's real easy once you get the hang of it but it took me a while to grasp how to use it. The others are tougher to use, but none of them explain things in terms suited for my brain.

Right now have 4 box mods a nebox, aodessy kit which is a mini pegasus and triton mini, a minivolt and top, and a target vtc with tank also have an ego one, plus have a triton top, a Nautilus mini, a genitank ,an GS air m, ego mega and 2 protank 2 with air control. Was doing 12 nic and was making me cough went to 6 and was fine now trying about a 8 or 9 kinda hard to figure it out since premix doesn't come in that so mixing 2 different nic levels sometime 12 and 6 and sometimes 18 and 0.

Morning all! So there I was in the Dunkin Donuts drive through, waiting for my turn to get coffee, happily enjoying my Jamaican Rum Cake. I pulled up to the pick up window, set down my mod and handed over my credit card. The guy looks in and asks if my car is on fire, then sees my ProVari & tank and says with a smile "Oh, you're vaping!". I had to laugh because I'm just a tootle puffer and don't really blow clouds.

That is funny! I have a problem in the electrical system in my suv. It causes the battery to drain quickly. We were removing fuses to see what would stop the pull on the battery and it seems to be the one that controls the interior lights. So we took it out until we can do more. Problem is it also controls all of the windows. I normally have the sunroof cracked to let the vapor out. So now, it fills with vapor and gets a bit foggy. lol. I started blowing my vape towards the air conditioning vent to help it dissipate quicker, so I don't get pulled over for driving a fog machine.
